About this property

The Holiday House at Whitebeach has stunning views and is very comfortably furnished. Located on the Tasman Peninsula an area of great natural beauty, with fabulous walks, beaches and historic sites the home is an ideal base for exploring all the area has to offer. Pt Arthur, one of the area’s most famous attractions is a 15 min drive away.

The house overlooks White Beach itself which is a sweeping crescent of sand – great for morning and evening walks and for relaxing and swimming in the day. A 2 min walk will have you on the beach. There is a nearby boat ramp for the water sport enthusiasts. The house is north facing so the open plan kitchen/dining/living room enjoys all day sun. There is also a log burner which keeps the cottage toasty warm on those cooler nights and wintery days. An expansive deck runs the length of the house and is an ideal spot to sit back and enjoy a book, meal, glass of wine, or cup of tea. It is also a great play area for kids.

The house is fully self-contained with a modern, well equipped kitchen. It is also family friendly with a range of toys, games and DVD’s for the little people. All in all this is a beautiful spot for a relaxing break.

Accommodation

The Whitebeach Holiday House is a 3 bedroom house that comfortably sleeps a maximum of 6 people. It is the perfect retreat for one of two couples, a family or group of friends. The bedding configurations are:

A portacot is also available for use.

Locality and Services

The Tasman Peninsula offers some of Australia's most awe inspiring yet accessible scenery. Magnificent cliffs, beaches, coastal formations and a variety of walks for all ages and levels provide the nature enthusiast and bush walker with a wide range of experiences.

White Beach itself is a very safe beach for children, though for those who like a good surf - excellent surfing beaches such as Roaring Beach and Shipstern Bluff are only a short drive away.

Local attractions include the Port Arthur Historic Site, the Convict Trail, Saltwater River Coal mine ruins, Federation Chocolate Factory and the Tasmanian Devil Park. At Eaglehawk Neck there are many beautiful rock formations, such as the Tessellated Pavement, the Blowhole, the Devil's Kitchen, Tasman's arch and Waterfall Bay.

The Peninsula is also well known for it's excellent fishing.

You will find plenty to do no matter what you fancy with, fishing, boating, bush walking, sea kayaking, water skiing, surfing and diving all a possibility, you can even take a chance to snorkel at White Beach. For the avid golfer, the Tasman Golf Club is only a five minute drive away.

Nearby is the township of Nubeena, where there is a supermarket, bakery, pharmacy, post office, pub, and medical facilities.

Quiet home with a lovely view

Two couples stayed at this holiday home. We were very comfortable there. We cooked all of our meals there and had everything we needed. We appreciated the hot drink mixes and supplies. The view was lovely.

Below average

I’ll sum this up easily by listing the pros and cons. Pros: Location is good. Really with this place you are paying for the view. It does have a nice view of the water and the location is convenient for port Arthur as well if that’s what you are wanting to visit in the area. Cons: If I had only stayed at this place I would have thought not having a heater was normal. Literally every other of the 4 places we stayed had electric heaters, most places had multiple ones from my memory. This place had a fireplace, yes it’s nice and it can set a nice mood but I would have liked the option of the heater, trying to light the fireplace because it’s cold every night gets very old once the novelty of having a fireplace wears off. I should add the bed had heated blankets but who wants to get out of bed and get dressed in an ice cold house? The fireplace is not capable of heating the entire house I should add. Finally, if I’m being honest the place seems dated, it’s NOT dirty but dated. Finally, out of all the places we stayed this owner was the only one I could not get a phone number for until we got to the place. My email didn’t get answered until after we were already checked in and finally one of the phone numbers in their house guide is disconnected and no longer works. If you add all this up it appears like someone thought it was a good idea to rent the place but without thinking of all the things that go into providing an experience the guest will appreciate. We booked this place based on the reviews, so I thought it was important that I post about our experience and why we felt the way we did about it.

So lucky to have found this beautiful home!

Whitebeach Holiday house was such a gem. The feeling of isolation, it felt like we were a million miles from anywhere. Even though it was so close to some of the most amazing natural wonders we have ever seen. The story of how the house came to be and the photos made us appreciate our holiday home even more, our son told us that he loved to see the photos. The house was very comfortable, perfect for a family holiday, clean, the kitchen spacious and central to the living space. Great selection of dvds, books and games. The views are priceless, we were lucky enough to watch the bay go from beautiful sunshine right through to gale force winds, it was beautiful to watch. The house sat steady and strong. Martha was great to communicate with. Thank you!!!
