This cabin is exactly what the pictures portray! We found it spotless, roomy, isolated, beautiful! Cabin is off the beaten path, overlooks a tiny little meadow, is surrounded by tall trees, and has a creek running off to the side which quickly lulled us to sleep! There is an incredible hike right from the cabin to some falls- where we found bear tracks and scat, saw some squirrels, and the elusive deer. Nearby Troy has a really great cafe that served hearty breakfasts, while Libby offers a few (scattered) shops. There is plenty of outdoor activities, hiking, scenic drives to do all through this area. The owner, and previous renters, have left detailed directions and books for area attractions, recreation areas, and scenic spots. This rental offered us a sweet escape, exactly what we were looking for as a vacation spot!!! Will we be back??? If ever we have the opportunity to come back- you betcha!!!

Randy, the owner was very good to work with in being flexible on arranging the schedule. The cabin is a welcome respite from the busy pace of life. The sound of Payne creek will lull you to sleep or help you linger longer on the front porch to watch the sunrise as the four legged and winged creatures come out to greet you. It is all very well arranged. We look forward to going back some day.

We so enjoyed our stay at this wonderful little cabin. It was exactly what a cabin in the woods should be – cozy, secluded, and peaceful with beautiful scenery. It was so relaxing. We loved the creek and the hike up the hill to the waterfall (the granddaughters made us go twice!) and we enjoyed the cedar forest in the nearby national forest. We mostly spent time at nearby Bull Lake swimming and kayaking. We saw deer and hawks and it was exciting, if a bit scary, when we discovered a bear in the front yard (keep an eye on your dog!)The cabin is accessed via a short drive on a gravel road and is fairly new, so is in good condition. It's simply, but comfortably, furnished and has pretty much everything needed for a casual, laid-back vacation. We weren't sure about access to grocery stores, etc. so we just carted in the food we needed in a cooler. Because of the extreme fire danger at the time, we weren't able to use the outdoor grill, but the kitchen is more than adequate for meal prep. There's a small TV and DVD player with some family movies (we took some also, plus lots of books), but we never even used then; we found so many other things to do instead. If we had a complaint, it’s that there was only one rocking chair on the porch – we always fought over who was going to get the rocker! (There were other chairs, tho.) The summer weather is very warm during the day and chilly at night (bring your swim suit and your flannel pj's!) Lake Pend Oreille (ponderay) is a short drive into Idaho and worth a trip. The lake is beautiful and there are some good restaurants and large grocery stores for supplies. We spent the day and had fun, but couldn't wait to get back to the peace and quiet at the cabin.

The cabin was very comfortable although it was warm until we figured out the system! Close the cabin up when you leave to go play, including pulling down all the available blinds. Open everything back up in the evening and the cabin will cool off nicely. The little walk up the creek was delightful! The hiking info in the cabin was very much appreciated! Thanks for the very enjoyable visit!
