Le Grand Tilleul - Lovely Provencal style for this house which was built by its owners, with old materials, 23 years ago.In 1986 we purchased the land to build our family home ; there was a ruin, we re-built and enlarge it completely to have a nice and comfortable place to live. From this time we still live in when it is not rented.
Surrounded by vineyards, we see the castle of the village ; the house is ideally positioned between famous Luberon hilltop villages such as Roussillon, Bonnieux,Menerbes or Gordes. Goult is under a mile away from the house with its many restaurants, two butchers, a bakery, the "Café de la Poste," and its wonderful grocery, where you can find all your daily needs.
Genevieve will be pleased to welcoming you personally and to provide many informations regarding places to visit all around, markets and good restaurants.
There is total privacy and quietness, with no close neighbours. Located on a 0.6 acre lot (26900 sq. ft.), the house offers 1614 sq. ft. of living space, on two levels. The first floor features a large living room with sofas, TV, table and chairs. The family kitchen is fully-equipped, is rustic in style but has all modern facilities and is well equipped for anyone who loves to cook: there's a large American fridge/freezer, an electric oven, a microwave, a dishwasher, and plenty of high quality crockery, glassware and serving pieces.
The laundry room has a shower, sink, a washing machine, and a separated toilet.
The upstairs features three bedrooms with comfortable bedding; one king-sized (180 cm), one queen ( 160 cm) and two twin beds, each with built-in wardrobes, a bathroom, and a separated toilet. On the outside is a shady terrace with garden furniture, table and chairs, a pool house, with built-in barbecue. The pool (36 x 16,5 ft; deep 4, 2/ 6, 5 ft) is heated, fenced and has steps ; open from May to mid-october. House linen ( bed, towels, pool), and cleaning (once a week and end-of-stay, and pool) are included.

The Grand Tilleul is a terrific private hideaway, perfectly situated in one of the best locations in the Luberon. After visiting nearly every corner of France, we continually gravitate back to the cote d'azur, Luberon, and the Grand Tilleul near Goult. We have been fortunate to visit Genevieve and Jean Pierre's home several times since 2004 and are never disappointed. From the well appointed interior, to the inviting outdoor spaces, to the refreshing heated pool, the Grand Tilleul is a gem. The additions of satellite television, free long distance telephone to select countries including the USA, and Wi-Fi for fast internet connections made our most recent stay even better! We look forward to our next visit!

We enjoyed two memorable weeks at Le Grand Tilleul in May. This lovely stone house, spotless, cozy and nicely decorated, is at-home comfortable. We enjoyed such sound slumber in the master bedroom, and relished preparing simple meals from our open-air market purchases in the huge and inviting country-French kitchen (which opens onto the flower-filled terrace). We especially delighted in Le Grand Tilleul's outdoor living spaces (sun and shade) which all provided splendid views across vibrant vineyards and lush woods up the undeveloped hillside to Goult. In the evenings, as we sampled much fine Luberon Rosé, we were mesmerized by the Provencal sunsets and starry skies. Day and night, our views were further enhanced by the consistent serenade of hearty frogs, varied melodies of birdsong, and the charming, distant village bells. Although very close to Goult (a 20-minute walk up the neighboring footpath or 2-minute drive), Le Grand Tilleul is completely private and makes for a truly romantic vacation (in case you forget to pack, or unpack, your swimsuit!). The location of Le Grand Tilleul is a perfect “10” as it took us only 15-20 minutes to drive the scenic country lanes to the famous north Luberon villages, attractions and restaurants, and less than 45 minutes to reach the south villages. Also, nearby we hiked a number of easy-moderate trails that we read about online. Touring the Cotes du Rhone region and Mont Ventoux was a day-trip. We enjoyed the village of Goult for its quietness, lack of tourists and traffic, and impressive restaurants (although we tried only four, we recommend them all: Bartavelle, LaCarillon, La Terrasse, and Café de la Poste). English-speaking Genevieve is a cheerful and accommodating landlady and she and her French-speaking husband, Jean Pierre, meticulously attend to the home and gardens. We thank them both for sacrificing their routine and comfort (they move out of Le Grand Tilleul for rental season) and sharing their lovely home with us. We highly recommended Le Grand Tilleul and we sincerely hope to return.

Our expectations for a wonderfully peaceful holiday in Provence were more than achieved during our stay at Le Grand Tilleul. Our seventh annual holiday in Goult was made memorable and thoroughly enjoyable due to the high standards of presentation, tranquility without isolation, great views without being overlooked, a perfectly sized pool and wonderful dining on the vine covered patio. After this, our first visit to Le Grand Tilleul, we will definitely be coming back but hopefully next time we will stay for two weeks rather than just one.

We had a wonderful two-week stay at Le Grand Tilleul in July to celebrate our honeymoon. This home was beautiful, comfortable and lovingly appointed throughout. We thoroughly enjoyed being nestled among the vineyards below the hillside village of Goult. What a magical place. Our hosts Genevieve and Jean Pierre also helped with special details to help make our visit magical and memorable one. We are dreaming of a return visit and hope to be back at our favorite place soon.

In our 6 weeks of travelling in Europe our time in Goult was the best. Le Grand Tilleul is absolutely beautiful, the setting is so peaceful and the home furnished and outfitted to make the stay so enjoyable. We used the pool a great deal, our only regret is that we did not stay longer. I would highly recommend this home and we can not wait to go back.

Of all the properties we have stayed at in Goult over the last 3 years, this wonderful house was by far the best. A friendly welcome from Genevieve, beautifully presented and furnished with a lovely garden and pool. The setting was tranquil and provided us with the perfect restful holiday.

Le Grand Tilleul exceeded our expectations. It's a cheerful, comfortable home with a lovely pool and terrific view of vineyards overlooked by the ancient village of Goult. We enjoyed cooking in the large kitchen, grilling on the built-in barbecue, and eating our meals at the table and chairs on the grape-arbor-shaded terrace. The pictures don't do the house's lovely plantings and landscaping justice. The Cassanos were great hosts and I can't recommend Le Grand Tilleul highly enough.
