Dating back to about 1700 La Folie is a 'Coeur de ferme' situated in tranquil Touraine countryside. Close to the villages of Betz le Chateau and Ferriere Larcon and twenty minutes from the historic town of Loches, where the newly discovered Caravaggio paintings are on display, it is within easy reach of many of the Loire Chateaux.
La Folie is a perfect peaceful hideaway. It is an ideal spot for a relaxing family holiday in France. There are two cottages on the property. They share an in ground pool, trampoline and swing set but each has its own patio and barbeque and access to the woodland and garden of over two acres. Bicycles of all sizes, additional garden furniture and a shared tumbler drier are located in the outbuilding adjacent to Tourterelles.
Hirondelles - The original cottage combines the old and the new with a fully equipped kitchen, large living/dining room, five bedrooms (two double, one small double and two single), two bathrooms, a shower-room and an additional mezzanine reading room. This is our family cottage and accommodates up to eight in comfort. The kitchen includes a gas range cooker with five burners and two ovens, dishwasher, large washing machine, microwave, kettle, coffee maker, toaster.
Tourterelles - Created from part of the original stables this gite-style property is more simply furnished than Hirondelles. It comprises a living/dining room with a well equipped kitchen, 1 double bedroom with en suite shower, two twin bedrooms, a further shower room with water closet and a separate water closet. The kitchen includes a four burner electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, electric kettle, coffee maker and toaster. The washing machine is in the larger shower room upstairs.
Hirondelles is available to rent on its own or in combination with Tourterelles when total sleeping accommodation is 14 people. Tourterelles is also available separately. |
