House from lake (at fall draw down- January) - High Rock Lake NC Vacation Rental We have added a paddel boat at the house for guest to use free at their own risk. The choice is yours. Our clean and peaceful environment has all the amenities to make your stay as quiet or exciting as you want. High Rock Lake, North Carolina's second largest lake, offers a wide range of activities, which include water sports, fishing, pleasure boating, dining and more are all available during your visit to our home. We started a project to insulate the walls in 2004 and ended up remodelling the entire house. Everything here is new and updates are continual, so if you like your stay this time, I guarantee the next time the house will offer something different and more exciting. A full kitchen with wrap around bar top is the perfect place to prepare a meal or entertain family or friends, with coffee maker, microwave, range, full size refrigerator, and all the cookware you need. The living room and sunroom almost flow into each other and allow for a great vibe. Enjoy great views of the lake from the dining area located in the sunroom, or watch TV, Direct TV and DVD from the comfort of the eat top bar, rather eat outside there is plenty of room on the lakeside deck, where you can even grill out, propane or charcoal available. The master bedroom features two queen beds and a large TV, Direct TV, DVD and plenty of places to store your personals. The second bedroom is so colorful, and has a full sized bed. A futon is located in the living room and converts easily to accommodate 2 people. The bath room has a full size bath and shower. Enjoy the lake by bring your own boat. A community boat ramp is located within 50 yards of the house and plenty of parking is available at the house or if a large group, in the common area located across from the ramp. No need to trailer the boat each night, as the property has space available for 2 docked boats, on the pier, space to be increased in near future. We now rent a 24' pontoon boat with the property (much cheeper than marinas.) Boat rentals are available at near-by campgrounds and marinas. Bass fishermen from all over the nation have traveled to High Rock and Lexington, North Carolina to see why this area is known nationally as the Crankbait Capital of the World. Well known crankbait experts such as David Fritts, David Wright, Gerald Beck, and Jerry Lohr honed their bass fishing skills on this lake and it's superb supply of hard fighting bass. The 1994, 1995, and 1998 home of the Bassmasters Classic World Championship, this lake produces some of the biggest lunkers you will ever find. Largemouth Bass, White Bass, Hybrid Bass, Crappie, Catfish, Bream, and Carp, are among the most abundant fish in the lake. Water sports activities range from leisurely kayaking to full on slalom skiing. Since High Rock Lake is located on the edge of the Uwharrie Mountains, the lake offers beautiful views and a wide variety of wildlife. With plenty of flat water in the mornings and evening, this lake offers a setting for a full range of performance sports such as wakeboarding, wake surfing, wake skating, skiing, slalom, and knee boarding to name a few. During the day the lake does get a cranked up and this is the perfect time to take a pleasure ride or find a cove or island beach to anchor up and swim or enjoy the views. If you would prefer to dine, there are several Campgrounds on the lake, which provide a delicious grill menu. At night there is fun to be had on the lake as well. The Boat Dock and Beach Club is located by water, 1 mile of our house, and provides good times and great drinks. The bar features an outdoor patio, dance floor, full bar, and music, DJ or band most weekend nights, ask about this when making reservations. Located 4 miles by lake is the High Rock Boat and Ski Club, which offers a full bar, dance floor, and a very delicious full kitchen restaurant, ask about this when making reservations. If you have just had enough water for the day, visit Up-town Lexington for the best barbeque in the world. Lexington barbeque has been made pretty much the same way since 1919, when Sid Weaver and Jesse Swicegood started serving it outside the Lexington Courthouse. Several locally owned, national chains and fast food restaurants are located near by, as well as major shopping centers. Other nearby activities include the Ashboro Zoo, Bob Timberlake Gallery, Richard Childress Winery and Vineyards, Richard Childress Racing Museum in Welcome, North Carolina’s Transportation Museum in Spencer. Other options are hiking, at Morrow Mountain, just east of Albemarle or furniture shopping in High Point.
