ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR LAKEFRONT RENTALS ON LAKE WEDOWEE... we have continued to add new amenities each year for the benefit of our guests! In 2010, we had our pontoon boat reupholstered and recarpeted for your enjoyment. In 2011, the house, decks and dock got a completely new look and we added a nice porch swing down on the dock. This year, the house got a new Flat Screen T.V. to enhance our home theater system so you can enjoy your movies, music, etc. The pontoon boat now has a new stereo system that is compatible with Bluetooth and USB capable devices including I-phone/I-pod. We've also added new linens, furnishings and other features to make your stay more enjoyable.

Our cove is the perfect spot for kids to swim in the lake, right off the dock. We also have a Weber charcoal grill on the front porch... as well as beautiful outdoor furniture on the screened porch. The large screened porch is everyone's favorite gathering place, but there are more decks and porches to enjoy, including a dining gazebo by the water with a picnic table. ABOUT LAKE WEDOWEE AND THE BEARFOOT LODGE...
Relax in style and enjoy this beautifully furnished and tastefully decorated, 3 Bedroom, 2 bath vacation home on one of the cleanest lakes in the Southeast. Approx 90 minutes from metro Atlanta or Birmingham, Lake Wedowee has been called Alabama's best kept secret... until the last few years.
Nestled in the foothills of the southern end of the Appalachian chain... Lake Wedowee is a mountain lake, affording gorgeous views of over 270 miles of shoreline... less than 25 percent of the lake has been developed, so there are plenty of places to find peace and quiet. Cruise the lake, head to Lakeside Marina for a meal or just drop the anchor in a quiet cove and relax. You can also enjoy some of the best fishing in the southeast! Cheaha State Park, with it's beautiful waterfalls and hiking trails, is less than 30 minutes away. Shop the antique stores in Wedowee or explore the caves at Cathedral caverns.
Our home has everything you need to enjoy a relaxing vacation in style! Two nearby boat ramps and your own private dock in the backyard. Two large porches and a waterside gazebo offer plenty of space for outdoor relaxing and dining. Our lot SLOPES GENTLY TO THE WATER which makes it easy to walk to the dock... plenty of room for kids to play and explore. Enjoy the hammock or the porch swing on the dock while the kids swim in our protected cove. FREE USE OF OUR 'OLD TOWN' 3-PERSON CANOE FOR GUESTS.
All towels, linens, dishes, and cooking utensils provided. We've tried to create a quiet peaceful, atmosphere where you can spend time with friends and family, with plenty of things to do together. Play a board game or read a book and relax. Or just sit out on the screened porch at night and listen to the symphony of frogs and crickets. We also have a nice home theater system, for watching movies or listening to music on DVD/CD. Weber BBQ grill (charcoal) available for guest use.
Just 4 miles from downtown Wedowee. Minutes to grocery stores, movie rental, drugstore, and other shopping (Super Walmart a short drive away). You can now buy beer and wine in the local grocery stores (Yes... Wedowee/Randolph County is now 'wet'!). Several nice family style restaurants within 15-20 minutes including excellent barbeque, Mexican, Pizza, and 'Southern-style' cuisine... check out the popular 'Top-of-the-River' Restaurant in Anniston. 'The Grapevine' restaurant in Woodland has great food with Greek and Italian fare! On Lake Wedowee, there are now TWO restaurants that are accessible by boat! El Chilar Mexican restaurant has great food, excellent service and now serves beer and Margaritas.
You will enjoy the slow-paced, relaxing lifestyle at Lake Wedowee. Come make some family memories at this simple, but elegant lake home!
PONTOON BOAT RENTAL... We have a very nice Pontoon boat with 60 HP Yamaha outboard motor available for rent... best rate available on the lake. $100 per day/$600 per week (Compare to $249 per day at the local Marina!!!).

My family of 5, 1 in college a Junior and Senior in high school along with my wife and I, made last minute plans as a result of the huricane hitting our original destination on the guld cost of Florida. I have boated all my life and found this place to be a dream come true. The owners worked hard to accomodate our last minute interest, in fact canceling their own personal use of the property. The house was wonderful as was the boat. I was concerned the kids would get bored, simply not the case. We rose eary and went fishing catching some nice bass and catfish. Coming home, yes home, to pick up the ladies and going for a ride and swiming at various points on the lake until dinner. We then we to various places for dinner. The kids have since refered to the stay at Lake Wedowee as on of the most enjoyable trips todate.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, age 55+, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thanks Steven... we always like hearing stories from families who enjoyed their time together and made great memories :)

"Your home was everything you advertised plus more. This was the most peaceful, relaxing vacation we have ever taken. The boat waiting at the dock was ideal. For your guests not familiar with the lake, our IPads made exploring the coves and backtracking to favorite places easier than car navigation. We enjoyed your suggestion to visit Cheaha State Park. The boardwalk was a lovely walk with Mom and while she enjoyed the view from the restaurant, we hiked a trail out to the rapelling cliffs. We would recommend a day trip to Cathedral caverns. The 1 and a half mile cave hike was very interesting, the drive goes through some beautiful country, lunch at Porky's was a treat and we topped it off with amazing peaches from a roadside stand. Thank you again for sharing your home" Ron and Anita from Del Ray Beach, FLDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

"We had a wonderful time at the lakehouse, and the pontoon boat was great... My 3 grandchildren had a great time swimming and feeding the ducks... I can't begin to tell you how much my husband and I enjoyed having out children together in one house. Our daughter lives in Houston, Texas and we from Pa. don't get to see each other as much as we would like... But, having a vacation together and everyone sharing in the chores was great."Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We stayed for a long weekend to attend the NASCAR race in nearby Talladega. This is a lovely home in a beautiful setting. The description and photos are very accurate. We had a great time - the ride to the track was about 50 minutes. Don was always super quick to respond to any inquiries. Would stay here again in a heartbeat ! My husband and I, along with our daughter and her husband and our 4 grandkids spent a long weekend at the Bearfoot Lodge to celebrate his 60th birthday. The lake house was beautiful, very peaceful and calm, very clean with plenty of space. We also rented the pontoon boat, which was absolutely wonderful. We spent a lot of time enjoying the beautiful lake, and having the boat down at the dock waiting for us was GREAT. The screened in porch was often used, especially to enjoy a morning coffee, or at night to listen to the frogs. We had a marvelous time and hope to be back soon!Owner response: What a nice comment, Eileen!... love to hear about families making memories like yours.

My wife and I spent a long weekend at the lake house and truely enjoyed every moment. We loved the big back doors that opened onto the screened in back porch. We water skied and intertubed on the lake; the water felt great! We had lunch in a quiet little cove. Our favorite part of the weekend was the quiet relaxation in this beautiful cabin.Owner response: Thanks Joel... hope you and your family will be able to come back many times!

"Our favorite place to drop anchor and spend the day... no noise, no boat traffic... just crystal clear water and beautiful scenery. Swim, relax and enjoy this little slice of heaven just south of the Hwy 48 bridge (on the left as you pass under the bridge heading south). Go all the way back past the Osprey nesting pole (there is usually a mother tending to her hatchlings in the summer) and you're there!"
