Relax and enjoy your serendipitous discovery of this spacious duplex with vaulted ceilings, enclosed porch, semi-private patio and professionally landscaped yard. Located in Bay Creek, a new, gated community featuring Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer golf courses, rated in the "Top Ten New Courses" by both Golf Digest and Golf Magazine.

Use of tennis courts and outdoor junior Olympic community pool included at no extra charge. Weekly rates include trip cancellation insurance, taxes, linens and cleaning services. However, trip cancellation insurance is optional.

Serendipity has both eat-in kitchen and dining room. Master bedroom has a queen-size bed, night tables, two dressers, and walk-in closet. Master bath includes garden tub with shower. Bedroom #2 has twin beds; bedroom #3 (upstairs) has a queen-size bed. Queen-size Lazy Boy hide-a-bed in living room. TV, CD/DVD, AM/FM, high-speed wireless, and a collection of books, family games, and puzzles are available for your use and entertainment.

Golf not your game? Enjoy a walk through the beautifully landscaped Bay Creek community. In Cape Charles, stop at the Cape Charles Coffee House for a morning or afternoon "break" or for lunch. Swim, relax, and read, or people watch at the half-mile long city beach. Check out the shops on Mason Street and at the Marina. Schedule an evening sail on the bay. Other area activities include antiquing, birding, bicycling the back roads, canoeing and kayaking (kayak rentals available in Cape Charles), and paddle-boating (rentals at the Marina). Discover the historic little towns off Route 13 (guidebook and brochures available) including Accomac, a great place to see the architectural styles typical of the Eastern Shore. Visit the working studios of several area artists. Sign up for an eco- or salt-marsh tour.

Take a picnic and spend time fishing or exploring the beach at Kiptopeke. Walk the trails of the nearby Eastern Shore of Virginia’s National Wildlife Refuge. This area is a stopover on the Great Atlantic Flyway and nearly 300 birds have been identified on the refuge. Visit the Barrier Islands Center.

Day trips include spending a day on Tangier Island where islanders still speak in a dialect similar to Elizabethan English and the crab served for lunch is right out of the water. Also nearby is Parksley, home of the Eastern Shore Railway Museum, interesting shops and many large, well cared-for Victorian homes. Or visit Chincoteague (if your timing is right, you’ll be able to see the famed Chincoteague ponies) and take the kids to the NASA Visitor’s Center on Wallops Island. Norfolk and Virginia Beach are about a 45- minute drive over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel. Williamsburg, VA offers history come to life and shopping at nearby outlets.

Not in the mood to cook? Dine at upscale restaurants in Cape Charles or venture further afield to Eastville or Onancock.

At the end of the day, return to Serendipity, enjoy the sunset, and watch the stars come out in a place where "dark-sky technology" and clear skies ensure terrific stargazing. (Bay Creek is a member of the International Dark-Sky Association.)
