Great weekend escape!

I took my father to the Outer Banks for his 70th birthday. He has spend most of his career in the aviation industry and has wanted to visit Kitty Hawk all his life. We had a wonderful stay at your Bungalo. We were not far from attractions, I actually got up early enough to catch a sunrise over the ocean - beautiful, and we had plenty of room and comfort. I could have even brought my family along and we will remember this if we decide to come back to the Outer Banks again. Thank you Lisa for helping to make our stay wonderful!

A Merry Little Christmas

I stayed here for the week between Christmas and New Year's, and had a wonderful experience. The house is cozy, comfortable, and well-appointed. Everything was clean and exactly as described in the listing. I enjoyed being on a quiet street but still very close to the beach. I will definitely stay here again!

Perfect Clean and Close to the Beach

We absolutely loved the perfect bungalow. It is exactly what we expected for our visit to the beach. The bungalow was very clean and with all the equipment and items needed for a beach vacation. The outdoor shower was wonderful. Thanks for making our vacation so much fun. The location could not be better. It is very safe and close to the beach.

Very misleading reviews

The size of the house was perfect for 2 adults, 2 kids, and our dog. However, the cleanliness of the house left a lot to be desired. The bathroom tub was in desperate need of mold remover or caulking in general. The toilet paper holder was coming out of the wall (and appears to have been for awhile since the amount of dust collecting on it was considerable). All the vents in the house had a major buildup of dust, which anyone that cleans knows that a vacuum or feather duster would take care of that, so the amount that was there shows that they haven't been touched in a long time. You could see dust around the computer in the master bedroom which showed that the cleaning prior to us arriving was minimal. For such a small house, I don't think the up keep would be that hard, so it was rather disappointing. There isn't any light outside by the door, so it's pretty dark while unlocking the door or trying to get the key out of the lockbox when you get there. I know people stay there before we get there, I just don't want to feel like they left minutes before we arrived. I agreed to staying here simply because all the reviews were so great, but they were very misleading. It was a great location though!!!!

Owner response:Thanks for the honest comments. I just wished you would have taken a few minutes to contact us and we would have had the problems taken care of with the teams we have in place. We are available 24/7. Being in the military I’m not physically in North Carolina, but do have a host of handy folks and we are in the process of hiring a new cleaning team as we just let our cleaning team go. As the seasons winds down our home does get a little warn and when you only have a few hours between tenants it is hard to get a detailed cleaning done. The detailed clean will be completed in March at the start of the season. Our home was rented ever day up until November. We do have the rugs, furniture, as well as the mattress cleaned and shampooed monthly as well as the yard and fireplace cleaned out. I hope our customers understand that after asking for the discounted price with a dog (pet fee waved) of only $295 for five days and four night with full cleaning, sheets and towels at a cost of only a little over $59 a day it is still a great deal at the end of the day. Plus our little bungalow is a mere 100 yards from the beach. All we can say is that we will try harder this upcoming summer.

My husband and I and our 2- four legged kids spent the week of 7/2/11-7/9/11 here and had a wonderful time. We loved the foosball table on the one stormy night we had. The house is in a great location with a very easy walk to the beach. We look forward to coming back next year. Thanks Lisa for sharing your house with us.

Great Beach House

Spent a week here with the family and dogs. Great place, just as it says, close to the beach with every thing we needed. The house looks just like the pictures and Lisa was very easy to work with. Lots to do in the area, beach, putt putt golf, shopping and resturants If we ever stay in the area again, I would stay here again. Thanks Lisa for letting us be guests in your little pink house, we had a great week!

Loved it!! Clean, comfortable, welcoming - a wonderful respite! Totally loved the fact that I didn't have to bring sheets, towels, etc!!! Quiet neighborhood close to beach, shopping, mini golf, etc. Thank you Lisa & Mike so much for making me feel pampered; I don't think I'll ever stay in a hotel again! It was a great, relaxing get-away. The boys (9 & 13) loved the outdoor shower - never an argument from them about getting a shower - that in and of itself is a vacation! So glad we could bring the dog, too. We look forward to a return visit next summer. Thanks again so very much!!!

First Time to Outer Banks

Lisa, My family and I enjoyed a wonderful week at your beach home!! We were very pleased with everything. It was very comfortable, quiet, and clean. All the amentties of home were at our fingertips. It was fantastic to sit in the mornings and evenings and hear the waves smacking the beach sands. There were so many stores just down the street and I really enjoyed walking in the evenings. The people there were all very nice and we had no problems with anyone. This adventure was a wonderful first time in Kill Devil Hills, NC!!! I will definitely be coming back. Good Location

This home is located close to restaurants and shopping. I was disappointed, not as clean as I had hoped. Ants were out of control, I called owner, was told to spray, which we did. Professional termintor needs to be called. I could not place any food on counter top and when we had a class of soda we were constantly looking for ants. Not a good experience. My son found sand in his bed first night, I washed all sheets and when making my son's bed I found sand on his matress. Home needs deep cleaning. Sink in bathroom was clogged, I also purchased drain cleaner.

Owner response: Our cleaning team has always done a great job. This is the first time we have not had a 100% satisfaction. Sorry for the disappointment. I spoke with our cleaning team and they have not seen any ants. We do have our home professional treated for bugs in the spring before rental season. We try not to use lots of chemical because some folks have allergies to chemicals. We everyone who rents our home know if our home is missing something to please purchase it and we will be happy to pay the cost. We also have a maintenance man and cleaning team on call 24/7and provide numbers to call. The renter two weeks earlier loved our home and stayed it was very clean.

Cozy Getaway Close To Everything

Our family enjoyed a fun and relaxing two weeks at the beach box bungalow. This is a sweet little basic home. Look, you want to go to the beach and not spend a forturne. This is the place. It was in a convenient location to access the beach, easy to walk to stores and restaurants, and above all, CLEAN! The street is nice and quiet; not much traffic passed by. We enjoyed all this cottage had to offer, from the grill to the deck, and everything in between. Beautiful, sunny days on the beach, and peaceful slumber at night. We rode our bikes from the house to the bay and up to Kitty Hawk (and found an obscure monument to the Wright Brothers in someone's front yard). My niece really enjoyed the fooball table. My older parents appreciated having no steps to climb in this one story home. All in all a wonderful week of memories was made. Many thanks to Lisa for her hospitality.
