The lawns are manicured and the tropical gardens are alive with colour. Though in the garden of the main property,a sense of privacy,and quiet prevails. One of the most beautiful secluded cottages in all of Bathsheba. My fiancee and I stayed in this perfect cottage for a week in March. Everything was just as we had hoped. We prefer to stay a little away from the big hotels and out of the way, and the Mammy Appple cottage is just that. Sits on beautifully landscaped property with all sorts of widelife. A short walk down to the beach and all local ammenities. Surely one of the nicest cottages for rent in Bathsheba.Owner response: Dear Andrew Thank you so much for your lovely review. We just returned to the U.S. after spending a fabulous time in Barbados, thanks in large part to the hospitality of Keith and Kay and the accommodations at Mammy Apple. My husband and I met in Barbados in 1980 and we returned this year to celebrate a belated 30th wedding anniversary. In the past, we have stayed with friends; but this time, we decided we'd rather have a "place" of our own. After extensive research, we settled on Mammy Apple and we couldn't have done better. Keith and Kay met us with fresh coconut water, which was a delightful surprise. They are incredible people; charming, friendly, attentive and accommodating. Their property, including Mammy Apple cottage, is impeccable. The kitchenette opens onto a shaded patio dining area, where you can be entertained by monkeys and birds if you so desire. A surfers' paradise is just 5 minutes away. Even if you don't surf, it is amazing to watch those who do. We cooked. We had a great time with old friends who stopped by to say hello. And, we ended up with two new friends, Keith and Kay. If your plans take you to the beautiful island of Barbados, I hope you will choose the quiet lifestyle and beauty of Bathsheba and also consider a stay at Mammy Apple. I think you'll be glad you did. After looking at many options in the Bathsheba area, I settled on The Mammy Apple, and could not have been happier. It is the perfect getaway for couples or singles, anyone looking to get away from traffic, air conditioning and noisy neighbors. The open plan of the cottage, with its ceiling fans and mosquito nets, perfectly embraces The Caribbean lifestyle. Keith and Kay maintain a stunning property, and their easy going, Island pace makes for instant and lifelong friendships. The cottage offers privacy and seclusion, while being just an easy 5 minute walk to the main beach park in Bathsheba. Acres of fruit trees and lush vegetation, families of green tree monkeys wandering the property, the sound of crashing Atlantic waves never far off, a chorus of tree frogs greet each evening. As a surfer, the location could not be better. Safe and secure, but again, just a 5 minute walk to paddle out at Parlor and Soup Bowl, one of the best waves in The Caribbean. There are many other beach options just a short drive in either direction, Bath and Cattlewash just to name two. There is also a good selection of local restaurants and bars nearby for breakfasts, lunches and dinners. I can not say enough great things about our stay, and I will be coming back to Barbados, Bathsheba, and The Mammy Apple for many years to come.Owner response: Thank you Paul .
