Beautiful New Cabin - Located Between Zion & Bryce Nat'l Park

Year Purchased: 2006

Why the Owner Chose Zion National Park

Another reason that I chose this area is the close proximity to Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, Skiing and of course the cool, clean air made this forest location the perfect get-a-way that is within driving distance of my home in Las Vegas. While visiting the cabin, I wake up each morning and enjoy hot cup of coffee on the wrap around deck that overlooks the forest then, I head out to find a new hiking or ATV trail and explore the natural beauty of the surrounding area.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin

The cabin is surrounded by the forest, yet, only a 5 minute drive to restaurants and other conveniences.

A
Zion National Park

http://www.nps.gov/zion/ Massive canyon walls ascend toward a brilliant blue sky. To experience Zion, you need to walk among the towering cliffs, or challenge your courage in a small narrow canyon.

B
Bryce Canyon

http://www.nps.gov/brca/ Famous for its unique geology of red rock spires and horseshoe-shaped amphitheaters, Bryce offers the visitor a "Far View" from the eastern edge of the Paunsaugunt Plateau

C
Cedar Breaks

http://www.nps.gov/cebr/ Resting on top of the Colorado plateau, at over 10,000 feet in elevation, this breathtaking view awaits. Millions of years of sedimentation, uplift, and erosion are carving

D
Brian Head Ski Resort

Brian Head Resort provides a great vacation value unmatched by any other winter resort in the region. Offering a friendly and relaxed atmosphere with virtually no lift lines.

Owner's Map of Zion National Park

I moved to Las Vegas, NV from North Carolina several years ago. It only took one summer of 110 degree temperatures for me to look for a cooler place to spend my weekends. After doing a few months of research, I found Duck Creek Village in southern Utah and had a cabin built in the Duck Creek Pines subdivision. While it's just a three hour hour drive from Las Vegas, it's a completely different part of the world in every way. To go from 110+ degrees to 72 degrees is like jumping into a mountain stream. To go from the desert surrounding Las Vegas in the winter and find 5-10 feet of snow at my cabin continues to amaze me.

A friend of mine told me about VRBO.com and the possibilities of renting my cabin to vacationers on the dates that I wasn't able to enjoy it myself. I decided to give it a try and it's been very successful. In addition to making a little money, I've really enjoyed sharing my little part of southern Utah with people from all over the world.

We just returned from out stay at Ricky's cabin. The cabin is located in a beautiful mountaintop area. It is clean, comfortable and has all amenities. Ricky was good to work with. Besides going to Bryce and Zion (an easy drive) we had a great time renting ATV's and driving through the national forest. We all loved hanging around on the wrap around deck. It was especially beautiful at night when you can see all the stars.

We stayed at Ricky's cabin during July with our 3 kids. We had a wonderful time, it was a spacious cabin and a great location in between Zion and Bryce Canyons with a lot to explore nearer to home. Ricky was quick to respond to any emails. It all worked really well. The place was clean and had a lovely feel. We enjoyed our time on the balcony eating dinner after some long hikes!

Perfect Mountain Home for Family of 5

Guest: Avid traveler from Omaha (Omaha, NE)
Date of Stay: 07/23/11 Review Submitted: 07/26/11

We enjoyed Ricky's beautiful home so much! It was perfect for our needs. With adult children the three bedrooms were just what we needed. The spacious great room was perfect for watching a movie, reading, playing games, eating and enjoying one another's company. The large kitchen was wonderful. The view of the stars from the upper bedroom was spectacular! We also loved the wrap around porch and enjoyed sitting outside to read and soak in the heavenly fresh mountain air. We were perfectly located between Bryce and Zion National Parks. Communication with Ricky beforehand made this an easy and seamless choice. We would definitely return to this home in the future and would highly recommend it to those looking for a mountain retreat!!

As a French family living in California for 3 years, we have tested a lot of rental houses to visit beautiful America. We must say Rick's cabin ranks very hight in our Top Ten best properties. A nice and quiet surrounding, a very clean and confortable house, a warm and welcoming atmosphere, lot of space, nice fireplace, big TV, great bathroom, very convenient kitchen...and all that very conveniently placed between Bryce and Zion national parks... What else ? Thank you Ricky for these great vacations ! I already recommended the house to our friends.

Great Family Vacation

Guest: Hector's Family (Yorba Linda, CA)
Date of Stay: 06/05/11 Review Submitted: 06/11/11

Our family, which includes two teen-aged boys and two small dogs enjoyed our stay at this beautiful, clean and nicely furnished cabin. The location was perfect for our plans to visit Bryce and Zion National Parks. The property is located in Dixie National Park between the two parks in a very quiet neighborhood of similar homes. We did not have enough time to explore everything we wanted to do in Southern Utah. Mr. Mays, the owner was immediate with responding to any inquiries. He was more than generous in offering to cover long distance calls I had to make on his land line phone because my cell coverage was inconsistent. We hope to visit again!

Very Pleasant Stay

Guest: EBV (Sioux Falls, SD)
Date of Stay: 08/03/10 Review Submitted: 08/24/10

We stayed from 3-13 August 2010. The area is beautiful and the cabin a pleasant place to sit back and relax. The kitchen is well stocked, if a bit eclectic; the beds are very comfortable; the layout is convenient; the sitting room is relaxing. The owner is very clear on terms and very quick to answer questions. He returned our deposit in a timely manner and in all other matters was most efficient. He was also willing to accommodate our dog. In sum, a pleasant place to stay and a pleasant man with whom to do business.

Beautiful, clean, great location!

Guest: Sharon (Philadelphia, PA)
Date of Stay: 07/03/10 Review Submitted: 07/14/10

This home turned out to be beyond our expectations. The house was beautiful, clean, well maintained. There was more than enough room to hang out either inside or out on the lovely deck. It was also a great location, being almost midway between Zion and Bryce National Parks which were also amazing. Ricky, the owner, answered any questions that we had before the trip and then returned our security deposit immediately following the trip. I have absolutely no negative comments about this home or the surrounding area.
