Beautiful New Cabin - Located Between Zion & Bryce Nat'l Park
Year Purchased: 2006
Why the Owner Chose Zion National Park
Another reason that I chose this area is the close proximity to Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, Skiing and of course the cool, clean air made this forest location the perfect get-a-way that is within driving distance of my home in Las Vegas. While visiting the cabin, I wake up each morning and enjoy hot cup of coffee on the wrap around deck that overlooks the forest then, I head out to find a new hiking or ATV trail and explore the natural beauty of the surrounding area.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
The cabin is surrounded by the forest, yet, only a 5 minute drive to restaurants and other conveniences.
http://www.nps.gov/zion/ Massive canyon walls ascend toward a brilliant blue sky. To experience Zion, you need to walk among the towering cliffs, or challenge your courage in a small narrow canyon.
http://www.nps.gov/brca/ Famous for its unique geology of red rock spires and horseshoe-shaped amphitheaters, Bryce offers the visitor a "Far View" from the eastern edge of the Paunsaugunt Plateau
http://www.nps.gov/cebr/ Resting on top of the Colorado plateau, at over 10,000 feet in elevation, this breathtaking view awaits. Millions of years of sedimentation, uplift, and erosion are carving
Brian Head Resort provides a great vacation value unmatched by any other winter resort in the region. Offering a friendly and relaxed atmosphere with virtually no lift lines.
Owner's Map of Zion National Park
I moved to Las Vegas, NV from North Carolina several years ago. It only took one summer of 110 degree temperatures for me to look for a cooler place to spend my weekends. After doing a few months of research, I found Duck Creek Village in southern Utah and had a cabin built in the Duck Creek Pines subdivision. While it's just a three hour hour drive from Las Vegas, it's a completely different part of the world in every way. To go from 110+ degrees to 72 degrees is like jumping into a mountain stream. To go from the desert surrounding Las Vegas in the winter and find 5-10 feet of snow at my cabin continues to amaze me.
A friend of mine told me about VRBO.com and the possibilities of renting my cabin to vacationers on the dates that I wasn't able to enjoy it myself. I decided to give it a try and it's been very successful. In addition to making a little money, I've really enjoyed sharing my little part of southern Utah with people from all over the world.
