Temperate, tranquil, private get-away ...
Are you looking for a balmy climate to escape to for your vacation? Would you like to awake to a glorious sunrise, smell the salty sea air, hear the gentle roll of ocean waves, and feel the soft, warm ocean breezes? Imagine stepping outside onto the white sand beach of the Gulf of Mexico. In the evening you can sit out on the veranda, sip a Margarita, and watch the magnificent sunset before lighting the tiki torches? If this sounds appealing you will love villa Sueño Encantado.
Just a short walk away, is the charming fishing village of Telchac Puerto, where you will find a grocery store, bakery, hardware store, laundry services, a clinic, fruits and vegetables stands, several excellent seafood restaurants, fresh tortillas, fried fish stands, pay phones and an internet café. The town plaza is shaded by beautiful old trees and offers a play area for children. The lighthouse is situated close-by on the seaside promenade.
For those who want more than the beach, there are many things to do and places to explore. Mayan ruins, cenotes, haciendas, and quaint little villages abound. The gulf offers fishing, kayaking, swimming, and snorkeling. Progreso, a pleasant 30 minute drive to the west, along the coast, is a lively port town that cruise ships have recently discovered. If you have a momentary longing for city life, Merida is just a 50 to 60 minute drive from Sueño Encantado. There you can find many of the popular food and shopping chains found in Mexico's neighbors to the north: Costco, Home Depot, Walmart, McDonalds, Chili’s -- you get the picture. But you certainly can avoid all of that in Merida if you choose. In the squares and the Paseo de Montejo Avenue in the city centre you can experience the wonderful sights, sounds, shopping, and restaurants that this historical colonial city has to offer.
The people are very friendly and many speak English.
More about the villa …
the palapa covered entry-way into villa Sueño Encantado serves to set the tone for a relaxing beach get away upon your arrival. The Mexican tile floors and tile accents featured throughout the villa were hand-picked by the talented local architect, Gabriela Cornelio, who designed this custom home. The authentic Mexican décor lends a warm, comforting charm that enhances the whole experience.
There are 3 Bedrooms and 3 Bathrooms. The first floor bedroom has a queen bed and opens onto a lovely terrace. Upstairs is another bedroom with a queen bed. The master bedroom has a king bed and a lovely palapa-covered balcony overlooking the ocean. The well-supplied kitchen and dining and living room areas are on the first floor. Glass double doors open onto a beachfront terrace where you can enjoy the beauty of the ocean from sun-up to sun-down!

We had a wonderful month at Sharry's Telchac beach villa! The villa is very well supplied with cooking utensils, towels, sheets, etc...and the furnishing is very comfortable. Our family loved the clean beach and the lovely views from the upstairs balcony. I enjoyed sleeping with the balcony door open to hear the breaking waves. It is so quiet and restful at the villa that I was able to read 6 books and take many naps. We are already dreaming about next year.

My family enjoyed an absolutely wonderful week at Sharry's villa. What a piece of paradise. The villa was well appointed to meet our needs. the tile work is gorgeous. Sharry's property manager and local manager were friendly and helpful. When we arrived late in the evening the villa was open, lit and inviting- what a great way to be welcomed to Telchac Puerto!!! WE loved the local villages, great food, friendly people and wonderful sights. The villa was the perfect home base after a day of sightseeing. We ran out of time to see and do everything. the pictures onthe site accurately portray the beauty of the villa and the beach.

What a tranquil setting -- the perfect place to relax. The house was spacious and comfortable and the view (we loved the sunrise) was impeccable. My only regret is that we missed the flamingos. Thank you!

Going to Mexico in the winter was WONDERFUL and if you want an idyllic setting, quiet, peaceful, laid back, relaxing, and beautiful... you won't find a better place than this. Sharry's home is delightful, decorated to make you feel like you really are in Mexico. She has done everything she can to make her guests feel comfortable and welcome. The beds were great; the hammocks a delight to relax away the day, the kitchen set up had everything one would want. (I didn't want to cook but if I did, the requisite utensils were all there). I had a ball exploring the beach and surrounding areas. If you go, try to go to the Flamingo santuary...a beautiful area. I will go back as often as I can.

Our family really enjoyed our week long stay at the Villa. Our 3 children had a wonderful time swimming in the shallow ocean in front of the condo, and I did not have to worry about huge waves or undertow. There were so many things to do in the cities of Progresso, Motul, Merida, and surrounding areas. The beautiful sites of Uxmal, Loltun, and Dzibilchaltun with its cenote taught us so much about Mayan history and culture. The condo itself is beautiful. The kids enjoyed sleeping in the hammocks if they chose, and we made lots of tasty meals instead of eating out all the time. We even cooked our fresh fish that we caught on our ocean fishing expedition with a real fisherman from Telchac Puerto! What a great family vacation that was not only relaxing but educational as well! We highly recommend it!

My 2007 visit to Sharry's gulfside villa in Telchec Puerto with three wonderful friends was a delightful escape! The "Palapa" roof exterior details on both sides of the villa were a wonderful Mexican detail, under one of which, we sat for our Marquerita and rum cocktails for sunset views of the Gulf of Mexico, as well as for sunrise with our morning coffees. Sleeping to the sound of the waves and gulf breezes was soothing, too. The villa has charming Mexican Talevara tiles, and objets d"art . Please note the gigantic "diving fish " driftwood sculpture discovered and dug out of the shell-laden beach by us and lovingly carried and placed in the beachfront sand patio by gentle and loving Mexican neighbors! Enjoy your visit!

We very much enjoyed our stay at the villa and found the caretakers Margot and Kevin very pleasant and helpful. A few minor suggestions:There could be more saucepans and more lighting in the dining/living area. More precise info re laundry facilities and toitet paper disposal. We are considering a return visit.

My stay at Villa Suena Encantada was delightful! The rooms are spacious and airy and the decor very tasteful. It is so wonderful to be in a vacation spot that is built Mexican-style with thick white walls and beautiful tiling. We thoroughly enjoyed our margueritas by candlelight on the palapa-roofed seaside balcony and watching the ever-changing shapes and shadows of the spectacular driftwood sculpture in the beachside garden. I definitely want to repeat this true Mexican vacation experience.
