This three bedroom suite tropical contemporary home was recently purchased, renovated, and furnished to our uncompromising standards. Our Interior Designer assisted in selecting new and antique art and furniture, luxury carpeting, bedding, linens, and towels throughout the house. The pool was completely redone, with new landscaping throughout.
With over 3100 square feet on one level, Happy Hale is large enough to allow guests to retreat to one of three, private ocean-view suites, yet welcoming enough to encourage a gathering of friends, old and new, in the bright and uplifting atmosphere of the great room, skylight wet-bar, buffet-welcome kitchen, and covered lanai with its dramatic golf-course, ocean, and sunset views.
Happy Hale is located just 12 miles south of the Kona International Airport, five miles south of Kona town, and within a mile of the beach, golf, tennis, shopping, dining, Cineplex, grocery and drug stores. Happy Hale combines the best of all worlds, a central upscale location coupled with complete privacy, spectacular ocean views and a gated and 24/7 guarded entrance/exit.
This Lucky Bennett designed home features three private ocean-view suites arranged around the gathering spaces of the home; each bedroom with additional individual exterior entrances. The first two of the suites are accessible from the interior of the home. The third suite, the Ohana suite, has entrances detached from the remainder of the house for an enhanced sense of privacy. The Ohana suite is only rented along with the main house.
The North Bedroom Suite features an attached den/office closed off from the Great Room behind a sliding shoji screen door, and if desired, closed off from the bedroom through a second set of shoji screen doors. This North Master contains a new king-size cushion-top bed, LCD flat-panel High Definition TV/digital cable, unique tambia wood slice desk, Hawaiian art, walk-in closet, and full bathroom, which features both a private garden/atrium and ocean view, jetted tub, and walk-in shower. There is a small lanai just outside the bathroom sliding door, perfect for watching sunsets.
The den/office has a second custom-made tambia wood tree slice mounted as a desk top, just under the two walls of ocean-view windows, as well as a Tempurpedic day couch/day bed. In addition, the den has both cable and wireless broadband high-speed internet, a fax machine, color printer, and a telephone system with free domestic long distance as well as a digital answering machine.
The South Ocean-View Bedroom Suite has two walls of glass and drapes facing south and west, a king-size Tempurpedic memory foam mattress, a large custom leather chair & ottoman, and Hawaiian artwork. Behind a sliding door are two separate closet and vanity areas; just behind that is a jetted bathtub, separate shower, and private toilet room with a sink.
The Ohana suite features a king size bed, LCD flat-panel HDTV/premium digital cable; dresser, a kitchenette with a small refrigerator, wet-bar sink, coffee maker, and micro-wave; a double Murphy bed; and full bathroom with shower/tub and storage; closet; and a table and chairs.
Guests enter Happy Hale through the redwood paneled front courtyard/covered garden, then take only one-half step up to enter the home under a large skylight. The entire property is on one level.
The great room features a new Pioneer 42-inch flat-panel plasma HDTV/digital cable with premium channels, a new DVD/Five CD player, and a new home theater system and speakers.
The kitchen features a 12 ft long main island with sink/disposal and large work and serving areas. A second island closer to the great room features a large overhead skylight, wet-bar, four new bar stools and wine cooler. A bamboo/glass dining table with leather chairs seats up to eight. Just off the great room is a large covered lanai with a more casual dining table, another wet-bar, and additional casual seating/lounging.
Just outside the covered lanai area is a newly-renovated lap swimming pool, a barbeque grill, an outdoor dining table and chairs, as well as six new Italian chaise lounges in the sunbathing lawn area. 4 new custom Tropitone living room chairs with coconut coffee table create a unique seating area outside as well.
