Elk House is conveniently located within Angel Fire Village itself (approximately three minutes from the ski lifts, five minutes from the golf course, plus hiking from the front door). Surrounded by pines and aspens, Elk House is situated on a peaceful cul-de-sac and does not require four-wheel-drive in the winter. The drive is plowed throughout ski season.
The master bedroom has a king-size bed, en-suite bathroom, as well as a cable TV, DVD, VCR, telephone, and private balcony. High Speed Wireless Internet access is available at Elk House. There are two additional bedrooms (one with a queen-size bed and the other with a double bed) and a second full bathroom. The expansive loft has two twin beds plus great views of Wheeler Peak. All linens and towels are provided as well as extra blankets. A washer and dryer are also available. There is a comfortable living area with leather sofas, cable TV, HBO, DVD/VCR, and a wood burning stove (firewood is provided). The kitchen is fully-equipped and includes a dishwasher, microwave, coffee pot, small appliances, and a breakfast bar. There is also a spacious dining area with a lovely lodge dining table.
NEW in 2009 - High Speed Wireless Internet, new appliances throughout the kitchen and a flat screen TV in the living room.
If you have kids this is a great cabin. Elk House has a large loft for indoor play (complete with teepee) and a beautiful, tree-filled backyard for outdoor play (no steep slopes). There is a pack'n'play for little ones, a booster seat, a stair gate, and the wood burning stove area can be completely surrounded by a safety fence if necessary. There are also lots of games, books and DVDs.

Christmas Time in Angel Fire With Family

This was the first time we have been together on a trip with the whole family including grandkids. We had 4 generations there from 1 to 77 that enjoyed the snow and cabin. When we arrived there were Elk prints around the cabin on on the porch. Unfortunately, we never saw them. The cabin was stocked with everything for our need and the sleds out back were put to use with the snow. The roads were kept clear and it was a short distance to the store and slopes. Thanks for allowing us to use your home away from home. I bet it is beautiful in the summer as well.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, girls getaway.

We really enjoyed the house. The golden aspen trees were spectacular. The living area was wonderful for enjoying college football and just relaxing and talking. The kids enjoyed the loft area (both for play and sleeping). Walking the nearby greenbelts made for a nice (sometimes challenging) walk. All in all this was a wonderful house for the 6 of us. Thanks for sharing it with us.
