  This lovely, very well equipped apartment far exceeded our expectations! From the tasteful decorating to the pleasant use of existing space, this apartment was warm and welcoming. It met every one of our needs for a very relaxing vacation. It's location allows for quick pedestrian access to key attractions within Brugge but also provides solitude when needed. More than just a place to lay your head at night. Thank you Dawne, Dominique and of course, Gaston for this wonderful experience!

  Firstly, thank you Dawne for making the booking so easy and pleasant. It really was a pleasure to talk to you on the phone prior to our arrival and you really did make everything very easy. The apartment is stunning and the location perfect for a holiday in Brugge. You are close enough to the center Markt for a leisurely stroll in and far enough to be out of the crowds. The furnishings are beautiful and to be honest, although the pictures on the internet are lovely, they really don't do it justice. It has everything you could possibly want for on holidays and much more. We stayed 2 nights (3 people) and there was plenty of room. I would highly recommend this apartment and hope to be back one day.

  The home was beautiful and in a perfect location to see Brugges and the surrounding area. The owners obviously have thought of every detail to make you feel at HOME, not in someone else's apartment. The home has been furnished with quality items, appliances, and linens/towels. I knew when I spoke with Dawne on the phone that our stay would be wonderful. She even called us when we had trouble getting the internet to work. Overall, the home was well maintained and cleaned. I would only suggest that there be a binder with all of the necessary information in it...how to use each appliance/TV/internet, etc, bus info, opening hours of things to do, emergency info, etc, like we have found in most Homeaway rentals. We would definitely recommend this home to others. Thank you!

  Owner response: Thanks for your review! Sorry that there was no binder giving you the info you think you needed. Actually, the numerous guidebooks provided in the hallway bookshelf with tons of tourist information about Brugge such as opening hours of museums, walking tours, favorite restaurant cards with maps on the back, Brugge maps, and other sites in the area are used by most clients which they have found to be very helpful and most complete. I invite them to add their favorites and other information. Bus routes are changeable as well as the schedules, Brugge is a walking city. The Tourist Info Center is just 5 minutes away on the Markt. Internet access is usually immediate for most clients depending on their laptops or IPADS these days. The use of the TV control and list of channels available is just next to the TV. I basically believe most clients know how to use the dishwasher and washing machine and dryer, microwave, coffee machine, etc. The bulletin board in the laundry closet lists trash days, closest pharmacy and their hours, grocery, internet access code,as well as emergency numbers for myself and my housekeeper. Glad you found the apartment itself very agreeable. I have worked hard to make all of our guests feel at home with many quality amenities and my personal contact. Kind regards, Dawne

  We highly recommend Romance on the Canal apartment and hope to return next summer! We have rented so many apartments throughout Europe over the past 15 years, and this apartment was the cleanest & most tastefully decorated we have stayed in to-date. We really appreciated all of the extras & personal touches. The location is excellent on a quiet street facing a lovely canal. It's only a 5 minute walk to the old town center & a grocery store is just a 2 minute walk across the bridge. Parking was on the street just a couple of doors down from the apartment. There was so much to see & do in Brugge we never even used our car during our entire stay! Thank you, Dawne, for a wonderful stay!

  2nd Response. This has been the best apartment and location to stay in our many years of traveling. We had a very enjoyable stay. The apartment, amenities and decor were perfect. An added bonus were the curious two cats that watched us from above when we were in the atrium. Highly recommended to all.

  We have never stayed in a nicer apartment. The apartment was immaculate and the furnishings very tasteful. Location was perfect for sightseeing and enjoying the Bruge atmosphere and life style. We especially loved the atrium design and the two neighborhood cats looking down upon us. Highly recommend. Thanks for giving us a memorable place to stay.

  What a "find" Travelling from Australia on our European visit, we had a lovely relaxing week here in Brugge, it is a super apartment, had everything needed for our 6 day stay, a very well maintained and clean property, very comfortable and relaxing and a great location not far from some lovely friendly restaurants and an easy walk to the Market Square. It was our first time to Brugge and we really enjoyed exploring the beautiful city. Have no hesitation to reccommend this property with a most supportive owner able to discuss any special requests and put you well at ease.

  We enjoyed a week in this very pleasant apartment in Bruge. The city itself is well worth a visit and the apartment is centrally located for all amenities. It is situated on a quiet road, with a great view and there is ample parking (pick up a parking disc from the local supermarket.) The apartment itself is very well appointed and there are some thoughtful touches such as bath robes and slippers. The owner is also very helpful. We would certainly recommend a stay at "Romance on the Canal".

  The apartment was lovely - tastefully furnished, with lots of stylish touches everywhere. It was really cosy and comfortable, and had some of the details that made you feel that you were in an upmarket hotel (eg robes and slippers). And it was very well-equipped. We had a baby with us, and unfortunately there was no cot - however, we improvised with some bedding on the floor, and this worked out really well. The location was great too - beautiful, but away from the full-on tourist traffic, so really peaceful. I would definitely recommend this apartment for a couple.

  We rented this apartment over Christmas weekend 2011. We were able to cook our meals in the really well equiped kitchen, very well organised and clean. We couldn't use the patio because of weather conditions but I'm sure that in summer time it is a lovely place to rest. With us being heavy Internet users, the good WiFi connection provided by the apartment's router was a definite plus. The television was large and provided an excellent choice of stations. There was also a DVD player, which will play European discs and a very large selection of good movies. The building was built in 1850 and is very quiet. It had a pleasant solidity: thick walls and a high, secure front entryway. The building was well maintained and clean. The apartment was cozy, pleasant, and in excellent condition. Since the apartment is located in front of the canal the street is very quiet and clean. Between the apartment's location, the building's solid construction, and well-behaved neighbors, the apartment was (in winter) relaxingly quiet. Hot water was abundant, and the rooms were evenly heated and as warm as we needed. The building is situated in a safe, clean residential neighborhood of similar 3- to 5-storey apartment buildings. A supermarket, droggeire, apothecary, hardware store, bakery, post office, news agent, shops, and many small eateries are nearby. If you enjoy city residential streets, there is pleasant walking just out the door. The apartment's owner lives nearby. She was responsive, helpful, friendly, and flexible. We strongly recommand the appartment
