Arecibo house description
This is a very private oceanfront house located on a second floor with a magnificent view for your enjoyment and relaxation. The ocean is right there on the backyard. Just step out and you are there on the beach. Located in a fishery town where you can smell the salty air and feel the coastal living at its best. This house has it all: comfort, nature, space, direct access to the beach and location. It is conveniently located close to everything, where you can taste the locals and the rest… Walking distance from a local supermarket, a local restaurant, a bakery and a sea food market, where fresh fish is awaiting for you to buy at low price!!! Some other nice restaurants, shopping malls, and points of interest for you to sight seeing are located near and some others within 1 hour driving, without the crowded feeling of the metropolitan area. However, you always have the option to drive to Old San Juan (1 hour away) and El Yunque Rain Forest (2 hours away) and come back to relax.
Amenities: The property is on a second floor of a two story house with a stairway as the only access to the house. Villa Abeja Beach House is a fully furnished and equipped house with a secure gated parking for 2 cars. This was our first visit to Puerto Rico. We initially Stayed in San Juan for a couple days to do all the Metropolitan exploring and then wanted something off the beaten path and away from the crowds to relax on the Beach. Angelo and Gladys were just wonderful to work with. Gladys met us at the property, went over everything with us, and then left us to unwind, relax and explore their lush beach front property. It truly was a Tropical Oasis with Gorgeous views and lush vegetation. We enjoyed the privacy of the high walls and gated property as well as the quiet beach. Being from Texas I was initially concerned about no air conditioning and when I mentioned that to Angelo, he assured me there were fans in every room and the constant tropical breeze off the ocean would make it a non issue. He was right. Just an absolute gorgeous property. Angelo and Gladys are absolutely wonderful and make themselves available 24/7 should you need anything. The Beach and sand are breath taking. The waves can get a little rough so if you have little ones, you definitely want to be in the water with them. Sunrise and Sunsets will take your breath away. We enjoyed both on the deck especially in the evening grilling outside on the BBQ with a glass of wine and paradise surrounding you. The neighborhood is an interesting mix of well cared for homes and some not so much but everyone we came across was very very nice. If I had to improve upon anything, it would be the water pressure of the shower inside. There is however a shower outside to wash the sand off you before going in which we used daily, but more water pressure in the shower inside would be better for the final rinse of sand and shampooing. We decided to check out a day early because we were going to El Yunque rainforest our last day and planned dinner downtown San Juan. with a 10:30 am flight it made more sense to spend our last night in town. Angelo had no issues with that and arranged to meet us at our hotel so we could return the keys. Leaving was hard. I can tell you that. Thank you Angelo and Gladys for sharing your Tropical Oasis and making our first ( definitely not our last ) visit to Puerto Rico and memorable vacation. :)

An amazing stay in paradise!
An amazing stay in paradise!
My husband and I recently stayed here in "paradise" for four days and LOVED it! We take a few vacations each year and this one is top on our list for a return visit. We loved the privacy of the house, which we called our "fortress" because we had the large property with high walls and protective gates all to ourselves. The listing said you had the upstairs, so we were initially wondering if someone would be downstairs, but Angelo and Gladys left to their home in San Juan while we were there. The ocean views are amazing, as we would spend several hours out playing in the ocean without any people walking by. The waves were perfect for boogie boarding, and the sunsets were beautiful each night. We loved the hammocks outside. The outside shower was awesome - it was actually warm and made it so we were easily able to keep sand out of the place after spending time on the beach. The property was clean and well-kept. The kitchen was well equipped; we just stopped by a grocery store and had all we needed for several days. (Though there's no oven which we learned the hard way after buying a couple of frozen pizzas - ha!) We didn't spend a lot of time out in the town, but felt very safe at home. The fact that there was no AC didn't matter, as we were able to keep windows and doors open and turn on a fan that kept the place comfortable. The owners were very responsive and responsible. They gave plenty of helpful information about the area and covered all of their bases. They went our of their way to meet us at check in and check out (and were fun!). We'll be back!

Owner response: Thank you Tim and Ann for your review. As I told you before, we are here to serve all our customers. Our paradise is well located as you noted, so you can enjoy the nature at its best and the coastal living with privacy and security. The Atlantic Ocean was just for you!!! The oven for the frozen pizzas is not necessary; next time just place them at the BBQ grill so you can enjoy the sunset at the deck outside; how's that? Next time, be prepared to visit the beautiful and amazing places pretty close from the house like: the Arecibo Observatory, the Arecibo Lighthouse (the last one constructed by Spanish), the Indian and Camuy Caves, among others. Again, it was our pleasure to served you. I'll see you next year. Angelo and Gladys
Like Coming Home
Like Coming Home
A year has gone by, but coming back to this lovely beach house makes it seem like we never left. Once again, a very very comfortable home awaits in a terrific beach front location. I travel annually to Puerto Rico, spending time in Arecibo, and now the Villa Abeja Beach House is the only place I'd like to stay when I'm there. The house is well furnished, welcoming and very comfortable. There's a full kitchen, living room and dining room. Wonderful sights and sounds of the sea right out the window and it is located in a quiet, easy to access neighborhood. What more could you ask for? Already looking forward to next year!

Owner response: Thanks Dave: that's why we are here for. Villa Abeja Beach House is a real paradise. Secluded and private ocean front property with everything you need to enjoy coastal living and nature. We are glad that we satisfied your vacation needs one more time. I look forward for your next visit.
My husband and I and two other couples were searching for warmth, relaxation and a place where we could experience the heart of PR, while also having some space to ourselves. We found this at the Teal Paradise. Located just an hour from San Juan, the place was relatively easy to get to - although don't trust the address or your GPS. (Ask Angel for exact directions). While the neighborhood around the house leaves something to be desired, once you are inside the gates of the property, you truly feel like you are in paradise. The sound of the ocean drowns out all other noise, the surrounding neighborhood is blocked by lush, tropical trees and vegetation, and all that is in front of you is the beach and paradise! Angel was extremely accommodating - waiting up until past midnight when we arrived to show us around the property and contacted us frequently to ensure everything was working out fine. The place was clean and well equipped. The rental property consists of the 2nd floor of the house with nearly every room looking out to the ocean. Angel and his wife own the bottom floor but left upon our arrival to give us the place to ourselves. There is a large deck, surrounded by hammocks, tropical vegetation and views of the ocean. We spent many nights grilling (the property includes a really nice, gas grill). Despite it being "winter", the water was warm and while the waves were big, we enjoyed them! You can also walk down the beach toward the lighthouse where there is a natural swimming pool formed by the ocean - also a great place for surfing. We didn't find much in Arecibo itself for site-seeing, food, or local markets so most of our touring consisted of driving to other towns, beaches, forests, or buying food at the chain grocery store - Pueblo and cooking at home. The one place we would highly recommend that is just a 10 minute drive from the house is the Cuevas del Indio - both spectacular views and really cool caves that you can climb down into. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who would like ocean front property and a clean, well kept house, all to themselves, as well as access to a friendly, accommodating owner!

Owner response: I am glad that you enjoy our paradise. As you noticed, our neighborhood is a poor area but very rich in people. Unfortunately, the economy has impacted this area but I am sure that our paradise gave you the relaxing feeling and comfort that you deserved to re-energize yourself.
A WONDERFUL STAY
A WONDERFUL STAY
After a horrible flight on US AIRWAYS(I recommend never flight us airways) we arrived in Puerto Rico a day late. Angel and Gladys were there to welcome us at the house. The house was better than the pictures can describe. A very clean and beautiful home with everything you need to make your stay wonderful. The breath taking view of the ocean from the balcony and the cool breeze made me forget about that horrible flight on US AIRWAYS. Night time was very quiet and peaceful the only thing you hear was the crickets and COQUI( a native small frog only found in Puerto Rico). The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. Angel made sure we were all set before leaving us to enjoy the house. There is a store/bakery within walking distance about 2 minutes away to get any last minute things you need and a more larger grocery store about 10 minutes drive from the house. You definitely need a car especially if you plan on sight seen all the nice places in Arecibo and near by. There are many local restaurants in the area and they all sell fresh sea food. The local cuisine is excellent. The beach was very clean and the sand was amazing. A safe, private and clean place. We might have seen about 10 people mainly jogging at the beach. The neighbors were very nice. We had a great time swimming and playing at the beach. The water was a bit rough and the waves were very strong. I personally don’t recommend this area for families with small kids. My son is 12 and tall and still had some trouble handling the waves. Great if you like to surf. The back porch was a great place to sit under the shade of the palm trees to read and enjoy a nice cold drink. The new BBQ grilled was nice. I really enjoyed taking a nap on the hammocks and relaxing after lunch before heading back into the beach. This is a place I will be returning to again hopefully in the near future. I will also recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy a beautiful home at the beach that is clean and safe.

Our perfect honeymoon
Our perfect honeymoon
This is a wonderful beach front home with everything you will possibly need. This place just took our breathe away, the beach is very secluded we may have seen 10 people passing by the whole time. The breeze unlike I have ever felt. We had the windows open the whole time and the sound of the ocean was wonderful. From the time I contacted Angelo the owner of this property he was very professional and answered me back on any questions that I had, from the time of arrival were we were greeted with a coconut drink in a coconut very popular on the island, Angelo was always a phone call away if we needed anything. This is a great island if you like to explore we went to the many caves right there by the house and meet many of the locals who all are very nice, we stopped by many of the food places off to the side of the roads don't miss these they are a real treat. But most of our time was spent at the beach house were we hung out in the hammocks cooked out on the grill and did some surfing at the beach. We found our paradise and can not wait to go back next year. I would highly recommend this house to anyone and the owners were great and helped us with what ever we needed it was a pleasure working with them and we thank them for sharing their house with us.

Come anytime you want, so you can have the time to get to know more about our beautiful Island and our people. Villa Abeja is strategically located to get to the best places such as the Camuy Caves, Dos Bocas Lake, Arecibo Observatory, Indian Caves, and many, many other points of interest and of course, you are 1 hour away from San Juan in case you want some nightlife activities. Again, thank you and we see you next year. Spread the word that you found the paradise in Arecibo, Puerto Rico !!!! Angelo and Gladys
6 of us just spent a week at this FABULOUS beach house. The location is perfect, right on the beach, and the photos don't give justice as to how beautiful and well-kept the property is. Angelo is a wonderful host. You truly feel like a welcome guest in his home. He is very accessible, provides terrific communication, and is available at any time. The house is immaculately clean and well furnished. Every need was anticipated and provided for. I'm only sorry we didn't have time to use the brand new barbeque grill on the back deck. Hammocks hang from the trees, the beach is literally the back yard, and the amazing ocean breezes made for a cool and comfortable nights sleep. I've been visiting Puerto Rico for many years, and having found this wonderful house, I now plan on staying here on subsequent trips without a doubt. You will not be disappointed, and I whole heartedly recommend staying here whether you plan on lounging on the beach all day, or taking day trips to the wonderful countryside that surrounds you in Arecibo. As described, this truly is a home away from home in paradise.
