The neighborhood has weekly markets: one on Tuesdays near the rugby stadium with food, clothing and household goods and another on Fridays a few blocks further north that features low-priced new and used clothing and flea-market type goods. There's a covered food market nearby, an organic "supermarket" just around the corner and a small
store at the end of the mews street for simple groceries.
The apartment is composed of:

As we were two students studying in Rome from January to April, we were happy that my Mom found us this lovey apartment to live in during our study abroad time. From the first contact, Elisabetta was most helpful and answered all our questions and helped make our transition to Rome an easy one.The street is very lovely, very clean and very convenient to everything. The cafe on the corner was great for a daily cappuccino. It was a close distance to our University, just a 15 minute walk, and also very convenient to all public transportation, the metro and trains etc. The apartment itself, is small but it is very cozy, very clean and perfect for 2 people. The bed was large and comfortable and can tuck in for more space in the room when not in use. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need. There is a cute sitting area when you first enter the apartment and we used that to hang and dry our clothes. There is a washer but no dryer, but our clothes air dried just fine.Elisabetta even accomidated us with a clothes iron. The apartment rent was very reasonable and affordable as we compared other places. Rome is lovely and filled with wonderful places to see, and it was an incredible place to stay and study for 4 months. We enjoyed our time in Rome and our stay in the apartment was great. We highly recommend this lovely apartment and say thanks to Elisabetta & Stefano. Richard and Alexandra USARecommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

My husband and I just completed a one-month stay in Elisabetta apartment, a charming, small nest beautifully and cleverly designed by Elisabetta's architect-husband, Stefano. It is perfect for one or two people. There is ample storage and with the covered patio, there was enough space for us to be comfortable. And given the extraordinarily warm June/July Rome has been experiencing this year, we were most appreciative of the apartment's efficient air conditioning system. Our hosts were charming and helpful. Elisabetta is instantly reachable by email (there is no phone in the apartment) and questions and problems were attended to immediately. The Flaminio is a residential neighborhood that is only minutes away from Piazza Popolo and all the tourists sights of Rome. Public transport is inexpensive and convenient especially when you get used to using the buses. There is also much to enjoy in Flaminio itself: the rugby stadium is 5 minutes away; the Renzo Piano-designed concert hall is also nearby as is the new MAXXI, the stunning Zaha-Hadid-designed contemporary art museum. The neighborhood has weekly markets: one on Tuesdays near the rugby stadium with food, clothing and household goods and another on Fridays a few blocks further north that features low-priced new and used clothing and flea-market type goods. There's a covered food market nearby, an organic "supermarket" just around the corner and a small store at the end of the mews street for simple groceries. Dining recommendations include Osteria Flaminio, which is also at the end of the mews street to your left, where we dined 6 times during our stay and were never disappointed. It's traditional Italian with a lighter touch. For simpler fare, try the Friseria on the corner near the tram stop. The Tree Bar, on the median of Via Flaminia near the tram stop, is a fine place for an aperitif and a look at where today's Roman 30-somethings hang out. We would be very happy to spend more time in Elisabetta's apartment as we now consider it our Roman home.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, age 55+.

the apartment is very, very COZY and the forniture are so beautiful and capaucius that you can recognize there is an architect in the design. I staied in the apartment for 3 months so I can surely say that is a lovely place to spent your holiday. The private street, where is located the apartment, is an OASIS with flowers and silence and the neighborhood is full of typical restourant and little Italian shops. Stefano and Eli are very nice people, and the price to rent the apartment is very good, so thanks a lot !!!!Recommended for: Tourists without a car.

I'll second just about everything else said already. The price is great, the apartment (and the street it's on) is adorable. On a map, it may seem out of the way, but the handy #2 tram will have you at Piazza del Poppolo in 10 minutes flat. The apartment is in a residential area that is safe and above all QUIET! There are wine shops and small butcher shops to stock up on basics (coffee, wine, snacks... wine) and a couple decent restaurants in walking distance. Plus there's a caffe nearby which is handy for €1 cappuccinos every morning. Elisabetta and her team were very accommodating of my varying arrival times (thanks, Christmas Blizzard '10) and my companion's separate arrival while I was in Venice for the day. Additionally, she is very easy to communicate with via email when you're making the initial arrangements. The only down sides: 1. The apartment if very well insulated. So, if you're a light sleeper like me, even the slightest bit of street noise – however infrequent – might seem jarring. 2. The apartment doesn't have internet access. However, you may luck into a wifi signal without a password like I did. (Thanks, "D-Link!") 3. Walking to, say, the pantheon, Trevi Fountain or straight to Piazza Venezia from Piazza del Poppolo will require you to push your way down Via del Corso. And I mean push. I'm a city boy, and if I never have to fight my way down that street again it'll be too soon. Other than that, it was a great stay. Oh, and I left a bottle of prosecco in the fridge. Enjoy!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

We have been staying in the apartment for a week during October 2010. Vary nice apartment, CLEAN, has almost every item that you will need (even an umbrella) , the design is GREAT (vary surprising). It's not far away from the center. All you need is to take a tramp and in 4 minutes you are in piazza Del Popolo. There are several nice restorants around. We liked the one on the corner of Vignola street. If someone is looking for supermarket, the closest is in Spagna metro station (underground) and a smaller one (a little beet more expensive) is 2 minutes walk on Viala Tiziano, near the gas station.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

Me and my Wife stayed here in the fall 2010. Being just two people, we were looking for an affordable place close to transit so we could explore. We were not disappointed on any counts! Elizabetta met us at the apartment and was very helpfull and friendly. The apartment was well furnished, very clean and amazingly designed for a smaller unit . The bed was big and comfy ( not hard like many we stayed on in Rome, in 2 hotels and 1 other VRBO all hard! ) and ingenously tucked in under the closet storage. The linens were very clean and fresh. The sitting area outside was nice to get a bit of air in the morning. The gas range had "auto lighting" which is safe and easy to use for North Americans , as all stoves are gas in Italy. Transit was very close by. The tram ran every ten minutes to the Piazza Popolo on the main street on which the block of apartments exited to. At the Piazza the subway and bus lines join to take one to all areas of interest in Rome. Or you can walk straight through the Piazza and be at the Pantheon in 15 minutes.I recommend to try transit, its easier and cheaper then you think, and there alot to see! We did both, walked lots and ate like crazy and gained... not a pound! Good healthy Italian food! Many restaurants are nearby, both top end places and also take out pizza places. Also small stores for food were close by. And dont forget the everpresent "torrefazione" or coffee houses! Great for a pastry and a morning expresso. All in all, a very convienient location, especially for the price!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

My husband and I stayed in this adorable apartment for a week. It's located in a quiet neighborhood, just steps away from Tram 2, which goes to Piazza de Popolo. It was nice to escape the bustle of the center for a more neighborhood feel. Nearby are a few stores, restaurants, and a gelateria. La Friseria on the corner was very good, and TreeBar was a nice place to get a drink in the evening. The apartment is stocked with necessities, including linens, kitchen items, and guide books. It was very clean and well-maintained. Just make sure to shower in the evening because the availability of hot water in the mornings was spotty!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, age 55+.

We were two students studying in Rome for four months. We rented this apartment and it was perfectly suited for all our needs. The location is great. The surrounding streets have stores that can meet all your needs: from a butcher shop to a pharmacy to a number of great authentic Italian delis. The apartment is walking distance (about 10min) to the shopping/historic center of Rome. If you are not in the mood to walk, no worries, there are plenty of buses and trams to get you there too. Overall the apartment makes great use of space. It is small but extremely well designed for a couple or single. If you are coming to Rome, do yourself a favor and stay in this apartment!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
