Lakefront cottage with sandy beach, lawn, and canoe for exploring Sokokis Lake. Nestled in the rolling hills of the dramatic Presidential Mountain Range in the historic town of Limerick. Antique shops, restaurants, ice cream and pizza parlors, and video rentals are located less than a mile away from the cottage.

Limerick (population 2,000) was established in 1771 by James Sullivan and named for his hometown in Ireland. Activities include swimming, fishing, and canoeing. Enjoy the passage of time by the sounds of water on the lake. The Willowbrook Historical Museum and one of Maine's nine remaining historic wooden covered bridges in the town of Porter is a short drive away.

Limerick is less than an hour west from Portland and one and a half hours north of Boston and Manchester, New Hampshire. Although located in the heart of the southern Maine woods, Limerick is only 30 minutes from southern beaches, Sebago Lake and only 45 minutes from Portland, and North Conway, N.H.

  • "The Cottage" is so peaceful and quiet compared to my residence in New York City. The water views, tranquility, comfort and the owners flexibility to plant my own flower bed kept me coming back for month long stays for three summers. A great deal for the price with the location on the water and 4 bedrooms. The town of Limerick is small and pretty, but "big enough" with restaurants, shopping, and amenities close by. I caught my first bass on Sokokis Lake and cooked it on the grill in front of the cottage for dinner! The perfect place to get away from New York City.
