The first photo you see is taken from the deck. While we are not
"on the beach" which is noisy and they are right next to each other. We have quiet and privacy with lots of parking. We have ocean views from the living room, deck, kitchen, 2 of the bedrooms, and the solar porch.
Private lot surrounded by oak trees and large ferns. We call our home "the tides of Life". Our home has two stories; on the first level is the very modern kitchen, large living room with 32 inch TV, fireplace and large sectional sofa with lounge and other comfortable chairs. The kitchen, dining room, and living room all have great ocean views. There is also a patio off the living room.
This is an open floor plan with vaulted cathedral ceilings. On the second level are three of the bedrooms facing the ocean with queen size beds, off the bedrooms is the sunroom.
The third bedroom is separated from the main house by a large covered patio with a gas barbeque and seating for eight persons. The third bedroom in the "honeymoon cottage" has a canopy king-size bed, fireplace, TV and a full bath with bathtub. Why the Owner Chose Aptos
I like this location because it is kind of a time warp, hardly any traffic, great place to walk your dog. very quiet area, no loud parties like santa cruz. I love the boardwalk and I love the path to the beach, 5 minutes to the sand.

of course the white water ocean view from just about every room is great. I decorated the home just like I would my own home as you can probably tell from the 16 photos

We were surprised by the nice view from both levels of the home. The home contained everything we needed and was very clean. A short walk to Manuel's Restaurant a must for our family on every visit. Our Children (now 50) love the hike down the secret trail to the beach that they used when 8 years old. I asked my wife for comments and she said "on the whole it was excellent".

I definitely recommend this vacation rental! The house was very clean & well kept, the owner very easy to work with and there was plenty of room for our large family gathering. The beds were comfortable too! It was also a very nice touch to have the "wine hunt" game with clues all over the house! (Thank you Zelda!) The view was very nice as well & it was a quiet and relaxing location. The only thing I feel needs to be mentioned on the website is the many steps leading down to get to the house itself, if only to help those with disabled family or friends better prepare. My family loved this rental and would come back again.

Conveniently located to Sea Cliff Village and Beach (walking distance), the Cement Boat, Rio Del Mar Village, Capitola, Soquel and Santa Cruz, The Tides of Life is just that. I can't say enough good things about this wonderful get away. You can tell a lot about a 'vacation rental' and its owners by what there is inside. I was so grateful and impressed by the extremely comfortable style of the home and the ocean view practically makes you think your in Hawaii. It takes your breath away. And since you are 'not right on the beach' you don't have all the beach traffic and noise, although you can see what's happening in Rio Del Mar Village. The art and selection of reading materials were abundant and the treasure hunt was especially fun. The owners have equipped the home for all age ranges and various activities. Plenty of room for entertaining and parking is convenient and close by. FYI: There are about 10 stairs leading down to a landing and another 6 into the unit which may be slightly laborious for older or unstable legs, but in no way are they difficult to negotiate. You would be fortunate to stay at this absolutely charming family home. I know I was and cannot wait to return. Thank you Tides of Life for becoming a favorite memory. Fondly, Gina & Family

We gathered in the Santa Cruz area to have a memorial service for my mother who passed away in April. She grew up in Santa Cruz and I have 2 grandchildren who hadn't visited the area before. The house was perfect for us. We had two people in each bedroom and they were comfortable. We never ran out of hot water. There were 8 of us so that was very important to my 3 daughters and 2 grand-daughters. The kitchen was a little small but we had all our meals together. We were able to take walks on the beach which was right down the hill from the house. Great view of the ocean. Easy access to Santa Cruz and Montery. We would love to return for a family vacation.
