Pets are welcome, of course. This two-story, 2200 square foot house has all the amenities of home. We are almost five thousand feet up on a secluded mountain with year-round neighbors close by. Beautiful winter views with spectacular views nearby.
It's easy to get to all the area events and opportunities: we are ten minutes from fishing and boating at beautiful Lake Glenville. The Great Smoky Mountains Railroad is 35 minutes away in Dillsboro; rafting and kayaking down the Nantahala, Ocoee, and other rivers are nearby. We are conveniently situated in the middle of Franklin, Highlands, Cashiers and Sylva. Each town is about 30 minutes away.
Great shopping fun, restaurants, and festivities await you at Highlands NC, Cashiers NC, Dillsboro NC, Franklin NC. Golf is available nearby. Cherokee Nation historic sites in Cherokee, NC and gambling at Harrah's Cherokee are just 40 minutes away. Asheville and the Biltmore are one hour away through some of the most beautiful drives in all of the Appalachian Mountains.
The Hideout is a true retreat from the rush of daily life. Spend time enjoying the breezes, birds, butterflies and nature. Sit and rock a while or hike through our 4 acres of woodlands. Enjoy the wildflowers and the quiet.

$625/week (+ $100 Clean-up Fee; Deposit: $100 + $100 Pet Deposit, if pets)
$2000/month (+ electricity. Deposit due to hold date.)
Available from Apr 01-Dec 15.
Available Dec 15-March 31 (with 4-wheel drive needed during winter season)
Thanksgiving Week: $750.
Check-In Time is after 4:00 PM on Sat or Sunday.
Check-Out Time is by 10:00 AM on Sat or Sun. Deposits mailed after checkout.
Maximum occupancy is (12) people (plenty of room for cribs).

To us, the best part of The Hideout is the peace and quiet. Taking life to a slower pace without the hustle bustle of the city. Listening to the sounds of nature, watching the birds and the stars, having fun with friends and just relaxing. It's hard to go home at the end of the weekend!
Our family has had a home in Highlands since 1959. We have always loved the mountains and bought our own slice of heaven in 2000: The Hideout on Apple Dumplin Hill. We're happy to share it with other families and groups who want to enjoy the the mountains, too.
