  We arrived to a super clean, gorgeous unit in the perfect area close to downtown. While we unfortunately weren't able to spend as much time as we might've liked enjoying the space, it was the perfect launch point for our stay. The best part was how absolutely helpful and available the booking agent was – even in the middle of the night. Great choice, jump on it while you can!

  This was our first stay at a rental property rather than a hotel and we absolutely loved it. The parking was very private, well lit, the area felt very safe. Our stay was very private, romantic, and the neighborhood was very quiet. Everything was just as described in the listing, if anything was needed the landlord and cleaning staff were quick to respond. The bed was extremely comfortable better than any 5 star hotel we have stayed in and the service was unmatched. The Rooftop was amazing, we loved the propane fireplace on the roof and there was even a mini fridge on the roof built into the bbq pits. The view was incredible and we couldn’t have asked for more. The area is great with tons of restaurants and shopping all within a few minutes drive, some within walking distance. The price was well worth it! Thanks for everything, we cant wait to check out another of Vacationcake’s properties for our next stay in Austin.

  My husband and I stayed for a long weekend and absolutely loved the Rooftop! It was so clean and comfortable! We slept great in the murphy bed which had a really comfy mattress and pillows, and enjoyed kicking back on the sofa and having lunch on the roof, soaking up the amazingly sunny weather we were fortunate to encounter. The Rooftop is modern and comes equipped with everything you'll need for a great stay. Lauren and Jay were friendly and accommodating. And the location was perfect. We could walk to plenty of fun things to keep us busy, had a space to park, and easily drove to a few farther locations. We highly recommend the Rooftop and can't wait to return!

  This was my first experiece using homeaway, as I normally stay in hotels when travelling. Well no more hotels for me. Also this was my first experience with vacationcake rentals who manage the property. When I first inquired, I immediately received a response from Lauren. She was one of the very few who actually took the time to respond, as compared to some other inquiries I had sent out for different properties. To the point, Lauren made the check in process painless, while being professional and friendly, a big thank you to this newbie! One worry I had booking a property as compared to a hotel was the amount of privacy I would retain. I was a bit worried about being hovered over during my stay. Let me say, this was not the case at all, as privacy is all about this particular piece of heaven. ' Ok the property. It is located behind a big nice house, over a garage. Reaching the unit is by way of a common alley way. This means you are able, if you drive one here, is to park your car off-street in front of the garage doors! Thank you! Once inside the unit and walking up the stairs, the unit was ready for our arrival. Very clean, well appointed and extremely relaxing. Stayed for three nights and slept like a baby on the memory foam mattress. Very quiet! The rooftop deck is amazing and spent all three nights on the deck, using the grill one night to cook steaks from whole foods. Also was able to use the portable propane fire pit one cool evening. The view and privacy combined were extremely relaxing. One thing I would like to see added to the rooftop is some sort of shade structure (portable or fixed) so the deck could be used for moring coffee or daytime relaxing without being sun blasted. Kitchen was very nice, with utensils, plates, coffee mugs, etc. The fridge is an under counter model which is perfect for those items you purchase to eat, drink, cook. Another item I hope the owner will add before my next visit is an ice maker. Not a big deal since I did bring a cooler and Davids market is right around the corner on Mary st for ice. Neighborhood is extremely safe, as we walked to 1st street during the night hours. It is also within walking distance to SOCO for shopping and eating. Now I did drive into downtown during the day. The stairs up to the rooftop are steep but we managed perfectly everytime. I am already trying to find a date to return to this sanctuary. Thanks Lauren!

  Beautiful little townhome, right in the heart of funky Austin. Barton is just a few blocks away, and 6th is just $10 on cab. Nicely decorated, and bed was soo comfortable, better than 3-4 star hotels. Lovely for a romantic weekend or a girl's night out. The rooftop was amazing at night. The only think I might have added was a full length mirror, for us girls :)

  ...just do yourself a favor and stay here. The place is lovely, it was easy to get to, and is centrally located for easy access to all of Austin. And for the price, why would you stay anywhere else? Dinner on the rooftop each night was the perfect ending to the day - the weather was fantastic (despite being late June and early July, the evening temperatures and a healthy breeze made for an exceptional few hours) and the view was picturesque. I have no complaints. Only a desire to go back as soon as possible.

  We spent three days at "The Rooftop" and couldnt have asked for better accommodations. Jay was very friendly and always had a prompt response to any questions I had. We came to Austin to get away and this was the perfect place to just hang out. The Rooftop exhibits gorgeous 360 views that do not disappoint. Although it seems like almost every part of Austin is under construction right now, the location is close enough to downtown to head out for a night, but just far enough to avoid the traffic during the day. I will never make the mistake of booking a hotel again. Thanks for the great time!

  I am always a little skeptical when I rent a place online because even though the place might not be all the bad you never know what is around it. I will say when we pulled onto the alley entrance I was a worried but as soon as we rounded the corner of the staircase I knew it was going to be a fun weekend. Great place. We stayed up until the wee hours of the morning sitting on that rooftop talking and enjoy a nice beverage. They aren't lying about the ladder to the rooftop - wow! Visited 4 wineries in Driftwood and Salt Lick BBQ. Duchman Family Winery is a MUST visit if you like reasonably priced and tons of variety. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and hope to be back down sooner rather than later.
