My friends and I rented this property for a week in August of 2011. We checked out several different properties and settled on this one. We had an easy time booking and the landlord was very friendly and helpful. The house is in great condition. It was a short walk to the beach and about a 5-10 walk from the harbor. Everything works well and there is plenty of space to socialize, cook and enjoy the Pines. I was especially pleased with the items provided in the home. There were MORE than enough plastic cups and kitchen plates, bowls, pots, pans, blenders and so on. They provided bath towels, beach towels and there were additional beach towels to use as well. We had a great time staying at this property and would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun weekend that has enough space and able to entertain!

Recommended for:Families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car.

A Perfect Fire Island getaway

Everything is clean and well taken care of. The owner really cares about the place and your experience there. The perfect share for a group. The layout is really great and the pictures didnt even do it justice Loved the pool and proximity to the beach. I cant really say anything bad about this place. i would definitely rent it again.

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

Best Time Ever at The Treehouse!

My friends and I couldn't have had a better time at The Treehouse. The house was super clean when we got there and much larger in person than we though it would be. The pool was amazing and was perfect to cool off in when we got too hot sunning ourselves. The kitchen had every utensil you could think of and worked perfectly for our family style meals. The porch was a great addition too when it rained. It is just far enough away from the main part of town that you don't feel crowded but are still close enough to go run errands or go to the bars. The beach was literally 2 minutes away and absolutely stunning. We are already planning our next visit there in 2012.

Recommended for:Tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We had a blast at The Treehouse. It's very clean, spacious and fit our group perfectly. The pool in back was wonderful and the porch was a great option to have when it rained or to simply relax and read a book. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook and the house is a short walk to the store and bars. I would highly recommend using the house for your Fire Island excursion.

My friends and I go to Fire Island every summer in August. This was the first time for us in the Pines and we had a great time! The First thing you will notice about the treehouse is how clean it is when you arrive. The second thing you will notice is how much bigger it is in person compared to the pictures. The space for gathering with friends is amazing and the fact that each room has an entrance to the house affords you privacy when you need it! The owners where great and had a book for all the questions you might have about the Pines and the treehouse. The beach was seconds away, which was great! I would stay again and would recommend to anyone going to Fire Island. You will have a BLAST! P.S. they also have a cart you can use at the Ferry to bring your things to the Treehouse (which really came in handy if you bring lots of food for a week like we did)

We have rented this place for two summers in a row and LOVE IT! Everything is clean and well taken care of. The owners really care about the place and your experience there. The perfect share for a group. This place provides the perfect amount of privacy as well communal space. The pool in the back with just the right number of sun chairs, a grill, dining table with an umbrella; the porch in the front with comfy couches and cool lighting (an outdoor chandelier), and then the best part, the huge kitchen/dining room with large dining room and living room with sectional couches, making even rainy days enjoyable. The kitchen has every utensil and device you need to cook or bake or grill. High-end appliances and everything is so well kept. The bedrooms are smallish but they are all equal in size and each is separated with a bathroom. The beach couldn't be closer and the "downtown" is just far enough that you won't feel the need to get out of the pool and go there just to have somewhere to go. I truly can't think of a bad thing about this place and can't wait to go back!

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Couldn't have picked a better place to stay! Rustic home with modern conveniences. The very short walk to the beach was the icing on the cake, especially after having soaked in the homes' very beautifully maintained and temperature controlled pool. The house is spotlessly clean with all the necessary amenities you would need for your stay. The well maintained four bedrooms and two full baths are a pleasure to the senses. Excellent and impeccable taste! Kudos to the owners! I would definitely stay here again and would most certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a great Pines experience! P.s, bring extra suntan lotion as you are likely to extend your stay!

We had such a fabulous time here at the Treehouse. It was the perfect place for a group of overworked New Yorkers to relax and unwind. The weather was so cooperative for us to enjoy all of the amenities that this house offered. Most importantly, the house was so clean and the place looked even more amazing than the pictures.

our stay at the treehouse was all that we had hoped for.it is a truly lovely yet beachy casual home, set up in just the perfect way. with closet shelving, sliding doors in all rooms,and decking all around, it was very open, bright and spacious. the furnishings were sturdy and good quality. the kitchen being completely outfitted with nice heavy cookware and lots of glasses and dishes, was open to the great room and all the fun- making it a pleasure to work in. the decor was really good looking and done with an artsy flair. the pool was beautiful and totally sunny, with floats and noodles. a short stroll to the ocean, bay and into town gave us just enough exercise. peter is a pleasure to work with and we cannot thank you enough. we highly recommend this home for a great vacation.

This house was a pleasure. Nice rooms for a group of friends to get together, great living area with dining room and great kitchen. Like the other comment said, great area to relax and enjoy on the back in the pool area or on the front porch with great breezes and shading. I loved being so close to the beach and close enough to the harbor to enjoy a quick walk over to all the action, while far enough to not have all the noise. The owners are a pleasure and so great to work with, thanks again for lending us your beautiful home!

This is a wonderful home. Spacious, sunny and conveniently located 1 block from the beach! It is a perfect space to bring friends and family together for a fun, relaxed weekend. It has all the amenities one would want in a house, including a much appreciated grill by the pool. The house has a flare that creates both comfort and style. Perfect get-away from the bustle of NYC life. We can't wait to come back!

We just spent the Memorial Day weekend in the Treehouse. Breezy and cool in the front with the constant sound of the waves from the beach, a 2 minute walk away. Super-sunny in the back at the very private pool. These guys have made this house comfy, private, and fully functional.

The Pines Treehouse is a very comfortable and beautiful house in the Fire Island Pines. Its location, a short walk from the harbor, is perfect. You are within a short 5 minute walk of virtually any where you want to go in the Pines. The House is outfitted with comfortable furniture and amenities that make it a perfect place to stay, relax and enjoy a nice relaxing time. The pool is a great relaxing area at any time of the day or night as it is heated and lit. All the rooms are nicely kept and decorated. One feels that one is ones home, not a hotel. All the rooms are very well kept. The living room/dinning room is gorgeosly outifitted to be relaxing and inviting with its very well open and lit plan; and the kitchen is outfitted with brand new appliances. A major plus. Overall this house is an excellent choice for renters looking to stay in Fire Island in a truly relaxed, comfortable and refreshed atmosphere.
