Keywords: Cottage, Beach House
This is truly a dream cottage. Right on Peconic Bay, which is salt water, with a beautiful view of the South Fork and a State park across the way. It is close to the neighbors, but everyone is friendly and quiet, and knows how to respect privacy. Situated on a quiet road, you rarely even hear a car. The house is perfect indoors and out! There is a large deck with a picnic table, umbrellas, and chaises, steps down to the water, a lovely yard full of flowers and grasses, and a hot & cold outdoor shower. The master bedroom has a queen bed, the guest bedroom has two twins. Pets are welcome, if they are well behaved. I have cats, so there is a cat door in the screen, which can be locked if you do not want your pet going out. (This house is not appropriate for people with pet allergies, as my cats spend a lot of time at the house, and a lot of renters have pets too.)
There are plenty of activities in the area, wine-tasting at any number of the various vineyards being one of the most popular, but you will find it hard to pry yourself away from the luxury of your own private beach! However, if you crave the ocean, it is only a 20 minute drive away to a beautiful State beach: Cupsogue.
Aquebogue is a mere 90 minute drive from Manhattan, John F. Kennedy, and LaGuardia. Islip is 50 minutes away. You can go see the theatre in New York, and be home for a midnight toast under the stars!
For the gourmand, the fresh fish cannot be beat, and there are numerous great restaurants in the area, with more opening every day. Loads of farm stands provide a wealth of fresh vegetables, local cheeses, breads and goodies. Have you tried the famous pies?

Right on Peconic Bay, you descend your own staircase into the calm, crisp water to swim in your backyard. The house is all it promises and Joann is very helpful and responsive. The location is also extremely convenient--no more than a half hour from LIE yet easy to get to North Fork (and South Fork) sites. Sitting on the porch looking out at the Bay with a glass of local wine--heaven.

We spent a wonderful 2 weeks at JoAnn's cottage and it truly exceeded our expectations. The location is perfect, the amenities were as described ,(or better), and JoAnn couldn't have been easier to work with.We have rented from the North Fork to Nantucket over the last 8 years and this property was,by far, the best one we've encountered! We wouldn't hesitate to rent it again.

An absolute delight! My husband and I stayed here for a week in July. The house is charming, the view is amazing and JoAnn was so easy to work with and extremely helpful. You'll find everything you need from pots and pans in the kitchen to the heavenly outside shower to directions to the farm stand with the best cherry pie. We can't wait to return to this lovely, peaceful cottage.

What an idyllic spot! This bright and airy home in Aquebogue is literally RIGHT on the water. Steps off the bulkhead deck lead you right into Peconic Bay which is clear and great for swimming. At low tide, you even have your own private beach. Swans and geese visited us while my husband and I spent a week on the deck working remotely, yes working, on our laptops using the WiFi. What a great "office"! Right in the middle of L.I. wine country, you cannot go wrong here. The house is full of personality and JoAnn has thought of everything. We'll be back!

Couldn't have asked for a better vacation! JoAnn is a great hostess and wonderful to work with. And the cottage is simply lovely! You'll want for nothing as far as amenities go. If it's waterfront you want, this has it!!! I spent all my summers growing up on the East End and now live in California and don't get back East much and was hoping this would make for a very special vacation. Well, it was all we hoped for thanks to JoAnn and her cottage. You'll notice all the comments in this guestbook mention the outdoor shower - Because it truly is worth mentioning. It's even comes with a beautiful view of the bay!!!! We've rented several times from VRBO owners and JoAnn and her place get a high rating from us.

Our family of five had a wonderful week at JoAnn's house this past August (our first time). The house is adorable - perfectly maintained and well equipped. The appliances, pots and pans, silverware and cutlery, towels, dishware, glassware, etc. are all top quality - the kind you have at home but don't expect to find in an rental. Our kids loved floating on the inner tubes and floats in the warm bay waters and we enjoyed supervising them from the deck because the shallow waters are perfect for kids. The kitchen is great for preparing any size meal and the deck is a fabulous place to enjoy it - we ate almost all of our meals on it! There are instructions for everything, including where to get a good meal out and where to buy fresh veggies. It's convenient to all of the North Fork and the parks and shopping in Riverhead. We highly recommend this rental and hope to return next summer!

We had a blast at JoAnn's cottage. Spent most of the time on the large deck looking out on the Bay - even in the heat of late July there was always a breeze to keep it comfortable. The water was great for swimming, and excellent for our 2 and a half year old because it's shallow a long way out during low tide, so she had a lot of fun. There are two bedrooms which can each sleep 2, but there is also a loft up a ladder which could easily sleep another two (but would not recommend young kids up there.) In the week we were there, no one used the bathroom shower once - The outdoor shower on the deck was so refreshing, with a view out onto the bay, showering was one of the highlights of the vacation. Hope we get the opportunity to return to JoAnn's again sometime - it truly was an incredible retreat.

My husband and I just spent 10 wonderful days at this charming house on the Bay. It was one of the most relaxing vacations we have ever taken. The house is lovely and has every amenity you could think of for your comfort. We spent our days swimming and playing in the Bay and the near by beaches. In the evening we grilled on the porch and dined while watching beautiful sunsets ovre the water from the dining room. The area is charming with Vineyards and outdoor markets all around us. There are alot of good restaurants and beaches and plenty of attractions very close by. But to be honest we hardly left the house. Our dog loved swimming while we paddled across the bay. JoAnn is a gracious host and thinks of all your needs and comforts. We can't wait to return and plan to make this wonderful home a regular vacation spot for our family.
