Keywords: Cabin --really a house, ( not built of log on log) but lots of lovely wood inside , rafters and beams which give it a cabin air.
Delightfully furnished Ranch Cabin eight with the largest RC lawn, has a master bedroom- bath suite downstairs, a couple bedroom upstairs(with down comforters) and also a bedroom with two twin bunkbeds. The bathroom sink area upstairs is outside the bath-shower to allow more users. Also upstairs is a loft area with many games, a couch and coffee table, a desk and book and game shelves, TV, VCR, DVD player. Since we like to spend time at the cabin ourselves, our furniture and art reflect our taste rather than catering to fears of things being broken or art being unappreciated.Likewise, our custom spice rack is filled with gourmet spices. Kitchen counters, floor and two couches are relatively new . Kitchen was repainted recently and other rooms May 2011, new Jenn-air stove put in a few years ago and upstairs couple bedroom also painted recently..Dining table can be made to sit 4 to 13!
The cabin is near enough the pool,shared with neighbors only, to reach it easily but not hear people there. A secluded tennis court, unknown to many at SR, is a two minute walk out the back doors and the lovely duck pond with spectacular views of Mt. Bachelor is just down the bike path in the direction of the nearby Nature Center. Different, equally beautiful portions of the Deschutes are a five minute bike ride away in opposite directions. The mall and Sunriver Lodge are about a mile away.
We also have an outdoor table and many lounge chairs.

Why the Owner Chose Ranch Cabins
We have owned our house for more than twenty years, originally sharing it with two other couples. However, we love it so much that we finally own it by ourselves. We don’t even like to go many other places in the USA for vacations because we like to be here best of all. We find this the ideal place for what we most enjoy in life: gorgeous scenery, beautiful hikes, sunny ,dry weather, and a comfortable cabin for being inside, for reading, for sitting around fires, for painting inside or out. Rob loves tennis and we are almost across the street from the least known tennis courts in Sunriver; we have a raft that we love to float in on the Deschutes. We both love to bike ride (Rob once rode from Oregon to California) and Mary loves walks and rides on the bike paths. Rob often bikes on the mountain trails.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
Please see the above. I can add here that since Mary loves art, she always sees the new exhibits at the Lodge Gallery and beautiful Sunriver library. We also have come to know and love Bend, its lovely stores, good grocery stores ( organic ones, and fish ones, too), its parks and festivals. We have been members of the High Desert Museum and consider it a must for any visitor. We also love the walks through the lava beds and the Obsidian Trail; the Green Lakes Trail is our favorite of any trail anywhere so we still hike it every year. We enjoy Trout House and Meadows food. Yum!

We are an active retired couple with 3 adult children, ages 31-43 . Our past careers were in clinical psychology ,accounting and theater . Rob has become a jock in his older age, entering ski race contests and playing tennis as much as possible. Mary paints at least one water color a week and walks an hour every day (sometimes with weights on her ankles!). We are also avid readers and hikers. We love to visit our friends and relative and be hosts to them in either Sunriver or Virgin Gorda. We are grateful for our good health , loving family and friends and the fulfilling and enjoyable life we lead.

We've stayed at six or seven of the ranch cabins over the past ten years -- we love the location, the cozy cabins, and the pool. We've had a couple of misses, but this cabin is a hit. Things like clean carpets, updated appliances, and the way the place feels like someone's getaway, not just a rental -- they all add up. On price/value, I'd put this one at the top of the list. On top of all that, the owner was willing to work with us when a vehicle breakdown/repair caused us to miss our arrival date. We look forward to coming back! Vince and Julie, Portland Oregon

We are so glad that "Lexerry" and her husband liked our cabin as much as the first time they stayed there! They got to take advantage of our new hot water heater, fixed screen door (next year we plan on getting new screen doors, including ones for the front and back door), down pillows,new shower head in downstairs bathroom and other small extras that you probably won't notice.

We stayed at the Dawn's cabin for 5 days over the New Year's holiday. Since it was the first time we've rented through VRBO, we were a little nervous about what to expect. However, the cabin was exactly as the Dawn's described. It was just perfect for our family. My husband loved the cabin feel and layout. We enjoyed the big picture windows in the living room / dining area to watch the snow fall. The cabin made us feel at home. The laundry room was a great place to store our wet boots, ski's and snowboards. We had a great experience. If we make it back to Sunriver, I would definately rent the Dawn's cabin again.

This guest could not get into this book so she asked me to paste it in for her. let me know if you, too, have problems):You can tell the owners live here part of the year. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook a gourmet meal on the JennAir range, complete with a full stock of herbs/spices, etc. The dining table is next to their tallest window that looks out through the trees to the bike path. From the kitchen you have the view through the dining room window or face the fireplace highlighted with an exquisite heron quilt from the Sister’s Quilt Show. This home radiates with Sun River graciousness and comfort. We’ll definitely rebook.

I've stayed in various SunRiver facilities(and other VRBO all over the country)and find this one especially charming. It's tasteful but unpretentious, cozy but not cramped, and it really is wonderfully situated. I've stayed there a number of times over the years, with larger family gatherings, and as a couple getaway, and it was great for both. In fact, I'd like to go right now! :-)

A very nice peacefull environment. The artwork adds an unusual tastefull touch not expected in a vacation rental. All the fun stuff to do is close by including just going out the door for a walk or bike ride. I enjoyed just sitting in the living room and taking in the trees. As one of the first renters we felt priveledge to be here.

There are few entries here because we have just begun renting to people that we do not know. Many of our friends and acquaintances rent from us year after year. They say our cabin has more "charm and character" than most; they like that it is clean, centrally located as well as how unpretentious and comfortable it feels within the good taste of the decor. Summer renters like how much lawn we have; everyone appreciates our fully equipped kitchen. (It's because I love to cook!).
