An update about our home after Gustav hit Louisiana. CHILL OUT had NO damage. Our beach home is ready for everyone who has reserved time with us. The beach is in great shape. See the external LINKS section for some current photos. The berm/dune is much flatter and there is no longer a walkover steps to navigate. The breaking surf is again clearly visible from the deck. The webcam will show this as soon as I re-activate it from "Chill Outs" deck. Thank you, everyone for your support and prayers for our piece of paradise.

    • What a wonderful 2-week stay at the beach! This was our first trip to Dauphin Island, and we all (including our 2-yr-old Basenji) enjoyed our stay at Chill Out. The house is beautifully furnished and you thought of every detail. Morning coffee on the deck was always a treat as we watched the dolphins swimming by and, on occasion, even jumping. Mother Nature treated us to some spectacular light shows at night, and always a beautiful sunrise and sunset each day. Food from local restaurants was great, but cooking “at home” was a joy, thanks to the well-stocked kitchen. What a treat!

      Homeowner Response:
My wife and I are so pleased you had such a great vacation. We love to cook so we try to keep our cottage stocked! The Dauphins are amazing and live up to the island namesake. Thanks again and hurry back to DI!

    • We just returned from a wonderful week at "Chill Out". Our 3 adult children and their spouses joined us along with a family friend for the Christmas Holiday. The weather was cool but that did not keep us from enjoying the beach every day. We saw dolphins & dive bomber pelicans and the sunsets were beautiful. The house is gorgeous and so comfortable. We did a lot of cooking and just enjoying family game time and movie nights. The kitchen is complete with wonderful cookware and utensils AND cookbooks! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us....we hope to return in the summer next time so we can enjoy the warmer weather & water.

      Homeowner Response:
Lorna and Art, We are so pleased you, family and friends enjoyed "Chill Out" and Dauphin Island. We enjoy cooking when the local ingrediants are so fresh so we setup the kitchen to be a place for anyone to help and still be part of the gathering. Please come back and enjoy the warm waters this summer. Happy New Year! Marion

    • Thank you for a wonderful stay at "Chill Out". We booked our last minute visit when we decided to take my 86 year old father-in-law to visit the beach for Fathers Day. He has never seen the ocean or gulf. It was a beautiful with great weather and a wonderful house to stay in. We also brought our 2 daughters and our 2 four-legged daughters as well. All 4 of them enjoyed playing in the surf! Barnicle Bill's has great food but we had fun cooking in the great kitchen! The house is beautiful and very comfortable. Our visit was relaxing, sitting on the deck watching the dolphins swim by or playing on the beach or just hanging out in the sun on the sun deck. We could not have wished for anything more! We look forward to our visit next year! Dee and family

      Homeowner Response:
