Our Cottage has been Lovingly restored back to its Original Glory--ONLY BETTER! All the Vintage Charm w/all modern amenities & every attention to detail. Previous guests have said: "This is a Very Special Place"...& It Truely Is! We are tucked away on a Quiet & Private Street, centrally located on 30A in Seagrove Beach, just 1 block North of Scenic 30A. "Banana Cabana" is very close to The Worl Renowned "Idyllic" Town of Seaside: Approx. 1 mi East. All its Shops, Restaurants & Activities--they are just a very short drive or leisurely bike ride away! And the beach?....Well, this is what you came for!!
Our Cottage is only yards away (very short walk)--Approx. 1 & 1/2 block (8 houses) from Our Beautiful White Sand Beaches & Emerald Green Waters that have made this area one of Florida’s Top & Most Desirable Beach Destinations! No Highrises Here--You & your Family will enjoy all the Natural Beauty of Seagrove Beach, yet none of the crowds found in Destin & Panama City Beaches!! Seagrove Beach is truely: "OLD FLORIDA" at its best!!
Done with the beach?....Your own PRIVATE Oasis awaits with a Beautiful Tropical Pool right outside your door! If the air is a little chilly, the pool can be heated during certain months of the year if you choose (add'l fee applies).
"Banana Cabana" Main House Features: 4 Bedrooms & 2 Full Baths--Sleeps 6. Our Private Guest Apartment Sleeps 2 w/1 Bedroom, 1 Full Bath & even has its Very Own Kitchen. There is a Private & Separate Entrance for Guests staying in the Guest Apt. Our "Tree-Top" Playhouse offers an add'l sleeping arrangement (FOR 1). We are "Ideal" for 2 to 3 couples or Families. The set-up is Sooo Unique--The Possibilities Are ENDLESS!! (You Decide)!
Step inside the Main House, and you will be amazed at the size of the huge 1950's eat-in kitchen (fully equipped), outfitted with its original farmhouse sink, hoosier style cabinetry and "Vintage" gas stove. The Art Deco/50’s inspired décor is apparent throughout the Cottage.
The extra large Dining Room boasts a hand painted floor with tropical fish, sea turtles & mermaids. There is plenty of room for the entire Family in the spacious and airy sunken Living Room w/leather sofa groupings, gas log fireplace & flat-screen TV & Home Entertainment System with 5 CD changer. You will Love the Hallway Library, full of books new & old for you to enjoy.
Fall in Love with the Dreamy Master Suite, featuring a king-size bed, Full Private Master Bath, double closets & flat-screen TV/DVD player. Ajoining the Master Suite, is the 2nd Bedroom: A Charming Twin Bedroom "Nook"--Sleeps 1. (see photo). Outside, just off the Master Suite we feature a Very Private Courtyard equipped with an outdoor fireplace for an enchanted romantic evening outdoors.
The whimsically appointed Queen Bedroom Suite is decorated in a Surfer/Hula Girl motiff -- right down to the grass skirt dust ruffles & window treatments. Get away from it all with your own large flat screen TV & DVD player. Ajoining the Queen Bedroom, is the 4th Bedroom: Another charming Twin Bedroom "Nook"--Sleeps 1. (see photo). The Twin Bedroom "Nook" has built-in cabinetry equipped w/small TV.
The Main House also features an additional Full Bath & a very spacious Laundry Room. We also provide 1 high chair & 1 play-crib for your use if needed.
In addition to the Main House, "Banana Cabana" offers a Private Guest Apartment--Sleeps 2. The Guest Apartment has its own Private & Separate outside entry. The Guest Apt. has it's very own fully equipped adorable eat-in Kitchen w/seating for 2. There is 1 Full Bath w/Mosaic tub & shower. Up the spiral staircase is what we call the "Honeymoon Suite" --A Spacious Loft Bedroom w/romantic mosquito netting encompassing the Queen-size Bed. This room also has a desk area, flat-screen TV, DVD player & a CD/stereo.
Children & Adults alike will love the "Tree-Top" Playhouse--Sleeps 1. The "Tree-Top" Playhouse is air-conditioned & has its very own Private Porch. The kids will stay occupied for hours with their own flat screen TV/DVD, CD/stereo & mini-fridge. There is also a ¾ size bed for napping or sleeping. Many adult guests have used the "Tree-Top" Playhouse for their own Private Escape! As a bonus, there is even an outdoor shower.
Everyone in the Family will enjoy the Gulf Breezes from HUGE "Ole Southern" screened porch. Take a lazy afternoon nap or sit outside at night and listen to the fountains & singing frogs in the Tropical Koi Fish Pond filled with Koi, Goldfish & water plants. At night it's almost Magical!

We Fell in Love with Seagrove Beach & moved here 12 years ago. We love this "Funky Ole Beach Town" with it's Laid Back Atmosphere & Friendly Locals! We met a Special Family that had lived here in Seagrove for many years. We always loved their Ole Funky Cottage & said: "If you ever want to sell".......... Well one day they did & we are Sooo Glad We Did!! We rolled up our sleeves & restored this 1938 Cottage to it's Former Glory, But Even Better!!

We live right here in Seagrove--But when "Banana Cabana" is available WE ARE THERE!! We absolutely Love The Place! It's our Home Away From Home. It is such a Joy to be there with all the different & special areas both inside & outside to enjoy. The Pool--Of Course! Our Huge Screened Porch is Great for an afternoon nap. The Tropical Koi Fish Pond, with the fountains & the fish--Its sooo relaxing. If your here @ the right time of year the Frogs Singing is Great. Our "Tree-Top" Playhouse is its own little getaway! Our daughters thought our week at Banana Cabana was the "Best Vacation Ever!" We had a great time at your precious cottage...which lives like a large home. :) It had everything we needed for a fun, relaxing week. The girls loved playing games in the playhouse, all 5 of us enjoyed running around in the yard, swimming in the pool, going to the beach and cooking out. We ate every meal under the pergola. The room set up was perfect for us as the 2 older girls stayed in the Hula room but didn't have to share beds. The baby was in the side room off the master. The pool was a huge hit! Several days we didn't even go to the beach we just swam. The pool also allow us to be together while the baby napped instead of me at home with her and everyone else off having fun. Your home was one of the cleanest we have rented through vrbo! That is huge in my book. One can tell how much you love this property and how well it is cared for. This would be a perfect place to bring a set of our parents and have them stay in the apartment. It would give us all room to be together and them privacy (and peace away from the kids when they need it!) Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise on the Emerald Coast with us. We plan on returning!

I've had my eye on Banana Cabana for three years. I could see it was a gem from day one, a perfect setting for my grandchildren to frolic, for the rest of us to relax, and for stepping back into a simpler time in this lovingly restored, circa 1940 beach cottage. Charm is too simple a word for Banana Cabana's appeal. This place is truly paradise. Everything was perfect. The decor was without peer. All was squeaky clean. Everything we needed was there and easy to find. The location was perfect and oh so private! The grounds were fastidiously kept. The pool area was an oasis and the pool was perfectly clean as was the sun porch, the decks, the gazebo, etc, all of it decorated with vintage items and whimsical eye-candy. Our almost 3 year old & 4 year old granddaughters had endless "props" and "background" for their imaginative play. Banana Cabana's listing looked like it would provide them hours of fun but never did I guess how limitless their adventures would be! The bathrooms were large and well supplied. The laundry room was SOOO awesome with a table for folding, a sink & more. (Folding clothes was a get-away in itself.) The beds were all very comfortable; ceiling fans in virtually every room. TVs galore. Awesome dining room; oh my the decor! We sat 8 at the dining room table. The kitchen was, for me at least, the star of the show! I took about ten kajillion photos of the inside of Banana Cabana & at least 1/2 were taken in the kitchen! There was something new at every turn, but BC is not "cluttered". Banana Cabana is 1940's beach cottage through and through with well balanced decor and furnishings thoughtfully arranged for the comfort of guests. We received a phone call from Jennifer within 30 min of our arrival. She was calling to inquire if all was to our liking and if we needed anything. Jennifer was awesome from start to finish. I have no doubt that if we'd had "needs" or "problems" they would have been handled quickly and thoroughly, but our stay was perfect from start to finish! We've traveled a lot, particularly out west, and have stayed in some gorgeous homes, but Banana Cabana is now ranked NUMBER ONE by my family and I cannot imagine anything topping it! Many thanks to Jennifer, owner extraordinaire!!! God willing, we'll be back!

Jennifer, please post for me my review with an Excellent rating. The Banana Cabana is in a great location and met our every need! We especially loved the pool and used it often! We also enjoyed the big yard and the "home away from home" feel and amenities! The guest apt. was a plus for my 20 yr. old who's sleep schedule was very different from ours. We would definitely recommend this place to our friends!

I was the lucky one that had my own private quarters. With our large family it was nice to say good-night and have the privacy and quietness of my own separate bedroom. I brought my "ocean" sound CD and relaxed as if I was at the beach. I slept very well there and thought the whole cottage house was extremely neat and decorated to make you feel at home and relaxed. Loved sitting with a cold drink on the screened in porch with the overhead fan blowing a cool breeze. I would highly recommend the Banana Cabana to anyone that wants the "beachy" feeling. This was the best family vacation ever! Having your own private pool was the best!! We pretty much stayed in our swim suits all week. The walk to the beach was not far at all. We drove into Destin for shopping and a couple of times to eat out. Then drove the other direction to Panama City for the same. We ate most meals at the house - outside of course, enjoying every bit of the house. We plan to be back next year, it was very hard to leave.

We recently spent another wonderful week at "Banana Cabana", our second year in a row. The property is all that the descriptions and photos promise and more! The house, pool and grounds are well maintained and give you the feeling of home. There is plenty of space for nine people, and a number of areas to get enjoy quiet time alone. I would highly recommend it for families or groups of friends. Even though the property is not directly on the beach, it is only a short 5 minute walk to get there. This stretch of beach is lovely and much less crowded than Destin or Seaside. There are beach chairs and umbrellas for rent by the day or week. There are a number of shops and restaurants within walking distance, a bike/scooter rental a block away and a Publix Market about a five minute drive. There is a great fresh seafood store called "Goatfeathers" within walking distance. For those who want to visit the Outlet Mall, Wal-Mart, or chain restaurants the drive into Destin takes about 20 minutes. There are many wonderful restaurants. Cafe 30-A is right on the corner, Angelina's Italian Restaurant a block down, and Bruno's Pizza a block away. In Seaside, about one mile to walk or cycle (parking there is at a premium, so I wouldn't recommend driving) there are many quaint shops and restaurants (Bud and Alley's was a great lunch spot). Pompano Joe's has wonderful seafood and is right on the water a few miles away. The Back Porch is also right on the beach and has great fresh seafood (bronzed Amberjack is a personal favorite) it is located in Destin. The owners of the house, Chris and Jennifer Martin, are always very helpful. They see to it that your vacation is enjoyable and stress-free (which is what a vacation should be). The security deposit we payed was returned very quickly after our vacation's end. I would highly recommend this location to anyone!
Owner response:What a Lovely review & Thank You! I do agree that parking in Seaside can sometimes be "Tricky" (@ certain busy times of the year). But I would certainly Not discourage any of our Guests from driving there. Seaside is soooo convenient to "Banana Cabana" (We are only 1 mile East) & it is an easy bike ride or even easier drive. There are so many wonderful shops, restaurants, etc...I live here full-time & any parking "issues" one "might" experience are sporadic. FYI: There are some add'l "Hidden" parking areas behind Seaside that perhaps were not known about by our previous guests. Hope to see you @ "Banana Cabana"!!

Your home was one of the cleanest we have rented thru vrbo! That is Huge in my book! One can tell how much you love this property and how well it is cared for. This would also be the perfect place to bring a set of our parents and have them stay in the guest apt. It would give us all room to be together and them the privacy (and peace away from the kids when they need it!) Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise on the Emerald Coast with us.
