This peaceful location on a quiet lane just outside of Rockport's downtown offers an easy place from which to enjoy the best that this world-renowned sea-side art colony has to offer.
A five minute walk takes you directly into the heart of Rockport's downtown, full of art galleries, quaint shops, restaurants, and home of the Rockport Chamber Music Festival and Rockport Art Association. Boat tours leave regularly from two wharves, and you can rent sea kayaks, go deep sea-fishing, or climb the rocks at the end of Bearskin Neck and watch the sun set over the harbor and the famous Motif #1 fishing shack.
The same short walk brings you to Front Beach, with its fine swimming and scenic views of Rockport's coastline for adults, and gradual slope and tidepools that delight children. Along the way you will pass the lane leading to Millbrook Meadow, an oasis-like park with a pond, waterfall, babbling brook, and large lawn with swings and slide.
A short drive takes you to Halibut Point state park for ocean-view hiking, or to the neighboring seaport city of Gloucester. The train to Boston is only a five minute walk away.
Our house has a private yard with a garden, patio, fruit trees, and even a small playhouse for children. In addition to a queen, a full, and two twin beds, a crib is available. A sunny eat-in kitchen and family room provide plenty of space to relax. There is ample parking for two to four cars.

My husband and rented this home in August of 2011 with our 3 children, ages 15, 8, and 4. We had a wonderful time! We were able to walk to the beach and shops on Bearskin neck. Easy walking to anywhere in town really. The home itself is lovely with all of the amenities of home. The owners were more then generous in the items they supplied with the house for renters. We were delighted to find peach and pear trees in the back yard, a grill for cooking out, a playhouse for the kids and fresh cucumbers and tomatoes in the garden. It is located on a very quiet street so that we did not have to worry about our children accidentally getting near the traffic. I rate this as one of the nicest rentals we have ever had, coming to Rockport for the last 8 out of 9 years. We would and probably will rent this home again. The owners were wonderful to work with and very accomodating with any questions we had. A definate thumbs up for families!

The owner was thorough & easy to deal with, providing lots of information about local spots. The house is lovely, with a very nice kitchen and plenty of space. Our group came to spend quiet time working on writing projects, and found the location perfect - the house was comfortable. We enjoyed staying in for dinner and games together each evening and had easy walking access to the beaches & shops of Rockport. It was also an easy walk to the commuter train. We'd love to return to this rental!

For families.....location, location, and accomodation! We found this 3 bedroom/1 bath quaint ranch to be the perfect family get away if you are looking for walking distance to the beach, seafood, ice cream, shops and a good cup of coffee. My 4 yr olds loved the play house and the yard. Front beach was perfect for collecting sea glass and shells. If you like to run you can be "out of town" and down along the beach in minutes. We had a great time.

We have been coming to Rockport for 6 years. This home was perfect for our needs. The kids had plenty of space, to run around, explore the yard and enjoy themselves. I loved the convenience and spaciousness of the kitchen, and didn't even mind cooking on my vacation. The ability to walk back and forth to the beach and to town allowed us flexibility in our plans. We hope to return next year.
