Our family of 5 stayed at la Grande Bergerie for a week in June 2011. We couldn't have been happier with our experience from pre-travel support from the helpful and enthusiastic owner, Margaret, to support once we arrived at the house (thank you Greta!). The house was even more beautiful than the pictures. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms remodeled, fantastic kitchen, living room with great couches where we read books from the upstairs library. The house is very large. We only used three bedrooms/bathrooms but checked out the others and they were of equal quality. The outdoor eating areas (we tried them all) were wonderful for dinners of roasted chicken and local wine. The pool was clean and the perfect temperature for swimming. The lavender and roses were stunning. I can't say enough about the beauty and quality of the house and grounds. We didn't want to leave but did manage to ride bikes to Lourmarin several times, enjoyed the cafes and market and one evening we rode home by the full moon. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this house and in fact have already told several friends about it. Thank you for creating a slice of paradise on Earth!
Owner response:We are so happy you enjoyed your time at La Grande Bergerie. Many thanks for such a nice review. Hopefully you will be able to return!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at la Grande Bergerie. The week there was the highlight of our trip. The house and grounds are so beautiful, we loved the furnishings and linens, and were in constant amazement at how well equipped the kitchen was. There were several chefs in our group (myself not included) and we ended up cooking at home every night but two - eating outside in the beautiful weather was simply too enticing. And I'd love to go back in winter -- your library was impressive but we didn't have the time to sit inside and read. Instead there were a number of hotly contested games of petanque. We went back to Paris for a night on our way home and, as much as we all love Paris, we would much rather have stayed on in Puyvert. We were quite envious of all the people getting off the TGV in Avignon as we climbed on to head north..........
