Just returned home from a wonderful Girl's Weekend at Seaview on Burton. The house was lovely with incredible views. There was plenty of social gathering space inside and outside. The bedrooms were very spacious with large bathrooms. We brought food with us and cooked at the house nearly the entire stay. There are certainly plenty of places to eat in town, but the house was so nice there was no need to leave! We also had a local massage therapist come to the house so everyone could get a massage without the hassle of driving or waiting at the spa. There is also lots of animals to watch from inside the house or the back deck. We were only there for 2.5 days and saw wild turkeys, deer, squirrels, quail, blue birds, and woodpeckers. Even heard the sea lions one night.

We just returned after a week in Cambria. The property description was accurate and the photos depicted the property perfectly. On day 1 we had a little problem connecting to the internet which the owner responded immediately, drove to Best Buy and installed a new more powerful router. He was extremely concerned that our stay be pleasant and easy. The setting of the home high on the hills overlooking the sea was secluded feeling and quiet with only 1 house nearby. . The house was roomy and comfortable.. Deer were in the rear yard every morning and evening and wild turkeys even were down in the driveway. We totally enjoyed our stay at Seaview. We visited Hearst Castle, which is a must, picked up moonstones at Moonstone Beach and had a wonderful lunch at Cass Winery in Paso Robles. Add that to your list. Also do not miss the French Bakery in town, that was a daily visit. This was our first vacation in a home and both couples are converts as we thoroughly enjoyed the feeling of a house with a place to return to every evening as well as a place where we could just read or nap if we felt so inclined. Hated to leave.

We stayed in this house for four nights in December 2011 and we had a great time! The house was amazing and huge, very clean and well-taken care of. We loved the pine floors throughout the house and the fireplace added a nice and cozy touch. the master bedroom was quite large with an amazing forest and ocean view and you could see woodpeckers, squirrels and other birds in the trees and the woodpeckers even visited our balcony! the neighborhood is really quiet and safe. there is Strawberry Canyon trail within a short distance of the house and it's amazing and you can take it all the way down to the beach(Lampton Park) where there are tide pools and amazing views and scenery(we saw crabs and a sea star in the tide pools). the Strawberry Canyon itself is great; it's an easy trail through the pine forest with lichens swaying in the wind on the trees and lots of mushrooms including toadstools throughout the forest. we saw lots of mule deer by the houses and about two dozen wild turkeys just walking by. Amazing! the town of Cambria is so nice with lots of small local businesses for shopping and eating. try Robin's for the best burger ever and their Thai coffee is to die for! Sow's Ear restaurant, which is only open for dinner, unfortunately, is amazing as well. the best coffee is on the West side of the town at the Cambria Roasting company. you also have to try Red Moose cookies, they're so good. there's a nice local nursery where you can walk around and relax(they have garden paths and ponds). and of course, there is Moonstone beach: amazing views, you can see otters sometimes, dolphins, seals and of course hunt for moonstones and sea shells. drive up the coast a bit and stop and see the elephant seals: we were lucky to see the pregnant mamas and their newborns and a coyote nearby! Cambria is one of our favorite places to visit and we usually stay at the hotels but no more! we would definitely come back and would recommend this property to everyone. James was great to deal with, the house was great and the views from the deck and balcony just amazing! Thank you James for letting us stay at your house. We had a really good time!
Owner response:These were wonderful guests and we hope they come back soon.

On behalf of myself, my husband, our friends, we wanted to thank you for making your home available for visitors. Our stay was so wonderful! Your home is so inviting and warm and situated in such a perfect location. We were able to enjoy the beautiful forest while we were at the home and then hike down to the ocean. We loved Cambria and will definitely be back!

The owner maintains an exceptional property just a few minutes from the beach, the forest, and the retail district of downtown Cambria. The house is simply lovely in all respects, and does not lack for any amenity you might want. It is absolutely quiet there, which is a real plus if you are in the area on a national holiday like I was with my two sisters. We loved the relaxed atmosphere here so much that we hardly left the house the whole three days. Rather than spend time at restaurants in town, we brought in groceries and ate on the beautiful deck. You can take a easy hike down to the beach at the Strawberry Canyon trail head right outside the front door. I would recommend this property to anyone who desires a renewing get away to one of the most beautiful spots on the California coast.

My sister and daughter and I stayed three nights here over Memorial weekend. By the time we left we thought of this as "our house". Very comfortable, clean, nicely appointed. Location near the ocean/forest/town of Cambria unbeatable. We will definitely be back. Don't miss a dinner at the Sea Chest. The neighbors are friendly and very quiet. We saw lots of deer and woodpeckers. Tidepools at Lampton Reserve lots of fun. A wonderful respite from the hectic urban life I am used to.

My friend walked in the front door first and said, "OH NO!!!" I asked what was wrong and she said, "we're never going to able to do anything, we're never leaving here." She was right, too. All the carefully researched restaurants turned into takout on the deck. The pictures don't do the house justice. Beautiful space, beautiful views. VERY entertaining woodpeckers and we even got a glimpse of the deer. This was incomparably better and cheaper than the Moonstone Beach inns.

We spent five days here over Labor Day 2010 and had a great time. One of the best rentals I've ever experienced. Great views, super quiet, high ceilings, big beds, everything nice and in order. Would highly recommend for a family or even three couples. Better than advertised! J&S (Los Angeles).

It was great to return to this beautiful home and enjoy the comfort and relaxation that it gives you after a long day of shopping; spending a day at the beach at the many enjoyable locations along the ocean in both directions; or, exploring many of the nearby points of interest. The house is spacious and luxurious and the decor is very elegant. Seaview on Burton offers privacy, serenity and tranquility among the forest surroundings with the spectacular view of the great Pacific Ocean rising in the background. Relaxing with a glass of wine on the patio and enjoying some quiet conversations while watching the sunsets was heavenly! The home was very clean and completely furnished with all of our household needs and conveniences. Photos of this home on the website offer only a small glimpse of the beauty of this property. We wait in eager anticipation of our return trip next year to enjoy this very memorable experience!

My husband and I recently stayed at Seaview on Burton and the pictures do not do it justice. It’s located in a forested preserve with views of the ocean. The views from the back decks took our breath away; trees, birds and ocean, pure serenity. No neighbors behind the home, so it’s completely private. Seaview on Burton was well appointed, immaculate, & spacious and we immediately called it home. Mr. Kelty was also quick to respond to my numerous emails and questions and it was a pleasure staying in his home. We spent five days here in February and look forward to returning next year.

It was our first stay at this lovely place and we hoped not the last one. It was actually our first stay at a private residence and we especially appreciate the attention to detail by owner-managers like Seaview's as opposed to the agency type home rentals or hotel stay. View of the ocean, the sound of ocean - great!! Thank you Jim

Arrived Tuesday afternoon to a very spacious house with a tree filled area. The views of the ocean and treetops were to behold. Very peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed the easy in and out location for our exploring the surrounding countryside, including some of our favorite wineries. The owner was very helpful to assist us with our questions. Truly enjoyed our stay. We would be interested in returning next year.

The many comments from other posters are quite true. The home is in beautiful surroundings, with a view of the sea and near to the Hearst Castle. There are multiple decks and the home is quite spacious. Surrounding the home is a picturesque green forest that gives the sense of being away from it all. There were two issues that I did encounter that I believe will be resolved by the time you read this message. Rooms available: While I entered into a contract for the three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms, upon arrival we discovered that a bedroom and the an upstairs bathroom were locked and unavailable. So, we ended up with a two bedroom, one and a half bathroom home. Communication: There is no AT&T cellular service reception at the home location, nor in the surrounding area including Cambria. There is also no phone at the home. Thus, depending on your cell phone provider, you may be unable to be in contact while here with family or friends or make dinner reservations. Jim did contact me on both issues and he assured me that these items will be resolved for future guests.

Just returned from several idyllic days at Seaview on Burton. The house is every bit as impressive as the pictures indicate--the living room is like a cathedral, and all the rooms are beautifully designed and appointed. Everything was clean and well-maintained, and the owner is very courteous and eager to please. This was our first visit to the central coast, and we plan to return. We would highly recommend Seaview on Burton to anyone who likes a quiet retreat surrounded by pines and the sound of the surf below.

My husband and I just returned from a magical weekend February 15 - 16, 2008. He surprised me with this spectacular house that overlooks beautiful green trees of the forest below that open up to the turquoise ocean in the distance. The hard wood floors throughout the house, vaulted ceilings and the charm and tranquility of this home is just breath-taking. We will definitely return again and again.

Paradise is Seaview on Burton! My husband and I just returned from a one week vacation (12/28/07-1/4/08) at one of the most relaxing vacation rentals ever! Seaview on Burton in Cambria. This beautiful home exceeded all of our expectations. In fact, my husband had such a great time, he wants to cancel our trip planned for this summer and return here instead. Seaview on Burton is an amazing find. The quality of this home and what you receive for the cost is truly amazing. Re website photos – Just in case you were wondering – the home is exactly like the website! Very spacious open floor plan, beautiful furnishings, etc. I am definitely a stickler when it comes to vacation homes being tidy and clean, and this home is spotless. You can immediately tell the owners take great care in keeping up the quality of this home. The home has two decks which provide views of the forest and ocean. We spent quite a bit of time on the deck, grilling. The grill here is wonderful! In fact, every item in this home is the equivalent of items you would find at a 4-5 star hotel. From the bed in the master bedroom (very comfortable with a high quality mattress) to the comfortable/soft pillows and sheets and blankets (to the furnishings downstairs (the couch and chairs in the living room; the kitchen chairs, all very comfortable) and the couch in the third bedroom. This home is set up for comfort! Also the quality of the kitchen items are top notch too. The kitchen has a dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, spotless refrigerator, etc. The dishes, glasses, and silverware are also very good quality. You will not be disappointed. There is even a washer/dryer for your use. Now I still haven’t even touched on what makes this home so fantastic. The views are amazing. From the time that we arrived we had ocean and forest views and best of all peace and quiet. The entire time that my husband and I were at Seaview, we did not hear any neighbors, music, outside noise distractions of any kind, etc. The silence was wonderful. But once you leave the home, you are a couple of minutes away from the main town in Cambria, and you feel totally safe because you have neighbors near you. Finally did I mention how spacious it was? My husband and I had plenty of space around us (and we only used two of the bedrooms). The Master bedroom is HUGE. I could go on and on, but this is a beautiful home and a great find and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone s
