Montana Creek Cottage

- Pets allowed:Yes

Step out of your busy life and into this secluded cottage nestled in the foothills of the Sapphire and Bitterroot Mountains of the Rockies. We are noted as the #1 summer climate in the USA with our warm days and cool nights.
Stunning sunsets drape the skies as you relax on the deck to the soothing sounds of the creek. Beautiful country gardens surround our very private cottage, which borders 12,000 acres of elk preserve.
Wildlife abounds with wild turkeys, deer, elk, eagle, hawk, osprey, cranes as well as a host of other animals which can be spotted throughout the year. In the evenings one can often hear a chorus of elk or coyote off in the distance.
For many centuries the Salish peoples camped on the banks of 'Scattering Creek' now known as the Burnt Fork Creek, wintering over in the mild and healing Bitterroot Valley.
Relax in the hammock, cast your line in the creek or in the world-class Bitterroot River.
Spend quiet, peaceful days around the cottage or visit some of the National Parks, Natural Hot Springs, Wildlife Preserves, lakes, rivers, caves, ghost towns, or engage in one of the numerous outdoor sports. Enjoy the vacation of a lifetime!

Authenticity, peace, inspiration this and more. Much gratitude - keep up the great work. We appreciated and enjoyed the thoughtful details everywhere. Games, laundry, right stuff to work with. The garden provided the best zucchini on the grill I've ever had! Owls, turkeys, deer, elk. Was such a pleasure meeting you both - Thanks for guiding us in Henry :) All the best,Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Not sure this can be put to paper. Born and raised in Stevi and just found this perfect gem. We were the lucky ones who slept in the Island Cabin. Oh my....loved the open air& creek sounds. Woke this morning and asked my husband...what time is it? He replied...you don't need to know. Thank you for sharing your beautiful cottage.Did you find this review helpful? I just returned home from a wonderful weekend at The Montana Creek Cottage and have to say that I found the property absolutely perfect. Not only was the landscape beautiful with trees, mountains and a wonderful creek flowing thru but the house was sweet and so comfortable as every detail had been attended to. Patricia and Henry have created a haven for travelers. Our group of friends came to the Bitterroot to attend a reunion/festival but once we got to the cabin we found it so inviting and relaxing we ended up spending most of our time there. The listing for this property gives an accurate description of the property but the photos do not do justice to the fantastic view of the mountains and other scenery. The home was very clean and well kept and Patricia and Henry were available but also gave us our privacy. I would definitely recommend this property and hope to go back myself next year. Thank you so much Henry and Patricia!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our two families gathered from Arizona, Washington, Oregon and Idaho to share this lovely cottage together. Honestly, we had the most relaxing time on the deck and under the beautiful shade trees. We BBQ'd played horse shoes, gazed at the moon and watched the sunset. We truly did not want to leave. I woke one morning and asked my husband..."what time is it" his reply..."there is no need for you to know". The sound of the creek was incredible...We would go back again and again. Thank you so much!Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Dear Henry and Patricia, The muse does visit up here in the Clouds along with white tail deer and tom turkeys. The best visit was when you two joined Rose and me for salmon dinner. The snow is a nice touch this last morning....the frosting, if you will, on a week that offered all that I had hoped. I believe that I wrote well. Thanks for the retreat.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We came to Montana to spend time with our Grandmother Dot, who turns 102 years old in October. We really enjoyed your wonderful homeand the beautiful view of the mountains. We cooked out, played games, fed the horses and loved watching the deer and wild turkeys. Gram really enjoyed the chipmunks. We had a wonderful visit spending time with old and new friends. Thank you again for the use of your wonderful cottage. The stream is great.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

About the owner: I am an artist and personal growth consultant. I feel blessed to live in this incredible part of the planet and I appreciate the beauty and serenity every day. We have 3 horses and 2 cats that frolic the pastures daily.
Why the Owner Chose Stevensville:
My family and I found this beautiful, healing place in the spring of 1994. We had been living in Alaska and had spent a few weeks a year for four years trying to find our new home. When we saw and walked the property, we knew we were Home.
