Superior Shores Estate features both a luxury Main House and a comfortable, fully equipped "Carriage House". This Cape Cod style estate is conveniently hidden on four plus acres which provides you both the privacy of a peaceful forest enclave, but also with the dramatic expanse of the open waters of Lake Superior providing a living "masterpiece" in every window throughout both the Main House and the Carriage House!
Situated on a bluff overlooking the vast expanse of Lake Superior with its constantly changing features and the breathtaking sunset, steps lead down from the huge multi-level deck to your own private beach. From there you may choose to build sand castles, search for agates in the clear shallow water, play in the "surf", or just simply enjoy the sun on the 350 feet of sandy privacy, all for your enjoyment!
The nearby airport offers non-stop flights to Detroit or Minneapolis with non-stop connections throughout the USA and world.
The Keweenaw Peninsula is the perfect all-season destination offering fabulous fall foliage, a wondrous winter wonderland that can't be beat, a super spring rebirth, and an unsurpassed summer season!
MAIN HOUSE:
The Main House is two-plus floors of luxury! The wide open design of the main floor offers you a spacious living area centered around a huge fireplace, spacious living area, with a comfortable sofa sleeper and large TV/DVD/VCR/SAT-TV system, and a gourmet kitchen and dining area. All look out the four double French doors onto the 1200 square foot multi-level deck, which is partially covered, and beyond to the seemingly endless blue of Lake Superior!
The guest bedroom with its twin beds and high boy dresser and rocking chair is complimented by its Laura Ashley curtains and matching bed linens. The large guest bathroom is dominated by the giant Kohler cast-iron bathtub and hand held shower. The guest bath features an "old-fashioned" Kohler toilet with a raised holding tank and pedestal sink area.
The gourmet kitchen features custom oak cabinets, granite countertops, a six-burner Thermador cook top with grill, a double Thermador oven, a side-by-side Sub-zero refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, double stainless steel sink and a professional Boos chopping block. Of course, all of the minor appliances you would expect fill the cabinets, Cuisinart, waffle iron, ice tea maker, toaster, and coffee maker. The dining area offers you a long dining table which will accommodate eight people. The pantry and laundry room with a washer and dryer and deep utility sink are just off the kitchen. The screened in porch is just off the laundry room.
The downstairs living area is further extended and enhanced by the expanse of the multi-level deck. The gas grill, large table with umbrella and six chairs provide all of the incentive you’ll need to set up shop for your family bar-b-q dining!
Upstairs, the entire second floor is dedicated to the enormous master suite with Berber wool carpet and outfitted with Ralph Lauren Roman shades and bed linens! As you enter, the library/office is on the right and, on the left, the master bedroom, you will be awestruck by the ever-changing view of Lake Superior from every window, whether it is watching the ships on the horizon or the magnificent sunsets, you will be tempted to either stay in the king-size bed all day or just lounge around on the love seat in front of the brick fireplace to continue to soak up the radiance from the views. The built-in big screen TV with DVD player allows easy viewing from anywhere in the room. The large ceiling fan helps provide a comfortable temperature throughout the upstairs living area.
As you continue to explore the master suite, your breath will be taken away when you see the giant walk-in marble shower room and a huge Kohler, cast iron Jacuzzi tub. It will be easy for you to visualize sitting in either the tub or the shower sipping a glass of wine watching the sunsets over the lake! The master bath also features a make-up vanity and double sinks all with marble countertops throughout. The huge walk-in closet is just off the master bath.
In the basement, you will find a convenient work-out area with a professional treadmill, a stationary vertical bike, and a stair master. There’s even a moveable TV so you may watch as you workout.
CARRIAGE HOUSE:
The Cape Cod style Carriage House is a comfortable alternative to the Main House. The two-story house is designed to offer both comfort and privacy to guests. The upstairs living area with its Franklin stove, ceiling fan, kitchen and dining area, and master bedroom and bath are cozy and yet all windows offer beautiful views. Out the back deck, you may decide to cook-out and dine on the "crow’s nest" with its 360 degree view of Lake Superior and the surrounding forest.
Both the Main House and the Carriage House have two car garages with remote controls. Each house also has at least one comfortable roll-away bed. The main house and the Carriage House will each accommodate six guests.
