PHILOSOPHIC APPROACH TO A SUCCESSFUL STAY :
Guests seek a home. My home seeks guests – such as people with an understanding of what it means and entails to be living by an owner – therefore who appreciate the opportunity to be feeling as if at home. In this they are helped in the process to taking the space in their own hands as responsible involved guests.
In addition to the usual amenities, WIFI, AC and Central heating, are provided many reference books, music, information and software as well as all the material needed for a successful cooking experience – so one is surrounded with all that may allow for a productive personal experience. People who enjoy all that is presented are as well more likely to take care of the space. There is no security deposit because working with trust allows for a less impersonal sharing and for a better contribution between guests and host.
Is key for me that visitors possibly add to my home what they felt was some valuable moments of history – theirs but thanks to the context in which they experienced it.
Those who care little of such values are encouraged to seek what may be in tune with their prospect – for instance the anonymous hotel style of experience where guests are likely to behave more as clients expecting whatever fantasy they have in mind.
The suite is loaded with books, antiques and high tech material so that those who are not interested in such amenities and seek a modern looking place will not feel necessarily at ease.
Also, the walls are decorated with patinas so to add to the old world feel. Again some unadvised people may interpret this as an unkempt space when it is in fact thoroughly cleaned in between each visit. Those will be dissatisfied while others will be enchanted by the romantic surroundings.
Finally, those who have an issue with a particular situation need to express it so to make sure the place is adapted to their need before making a commitment. One can consult the FAQ page for answers to most questions : http://www.vacation-rental-owner.com/question.htm
Hoping this is of help for a discerning choice of the right rental for you.
Enjoy your trip preparation.

I was most impressed with your many prompt replies to my questions. We appreciated that the building was very secure with digital entrance code etc. The apartment could house four adults properly. Furnishings were very suitable- my son was fascinated with the large interesting library. We also appreciated the access to free Internet & free phone calls internationally. What a bonus!
While in Europe none of the other rentals had left such detailed information as you had for us upon our arrival about your flat, transportation, local attractions, etc. Thank you for that! The location was very convenient- we were able to walk to many places in the Bastille area. We loved the many cafes. We appreciated the reasonable rental fee you ask. Would we stay there again? Yes! It met our needs & had a trusting l&lord who was very congenial & helpful. What more could you ask?

Staying at Jean Charles's apartment was a great choice. It has everything (& more) you would expect from an apartment including a full kitchen, dining area & office area. We really appreciated the computer & high speed Internet access as well as the free calls back to the United States. I would recommend this apartment to anyone

Dear Jean. We'll be more than glad to recommend your lovely flat which satisfy our expectations during our holiday in Paris. The flat is comfortable & in a very good location, but for us, the most significant advantage was - meeting a nice & hospitable proprietor
John Baldwin & Marilyn Gibson.
From the moment Jean Charles greeted us at his apartment, we felt as if we were right at home in Paris. The flat itself was very comfortable with all comforts & conveniences available (including a wonderful book collection), & the location was excellent. We highly recommend this apartment for Paris visitors
Jean Charles. Our friends & I enjoyed ourselves very much. It was a very cute apt. We loved the fact you had the Web & free international calling. It is pretty well located, walking distance to the museums, & only blocks from the cemetery Pere Lachaise which is beautiful. We had a great stay & I would recommend it because it is larger than most hotel rooms. Also the metro & taxi stands are close. We had a great time. Thank you
Hello Jean. I enjoyed staying in your nice apartment of Paris. You look like professor of university Location is very good near Bastille. If you come to Sapporo, Japan, I can offer my house, live in another place, so my house is vacancy.
Hi Jean. I just wanted to thank you for the lovely stay in Paris. It has been a real pleasure renting from you. I have never tried to rent an apartment before in a foreign country so I was very scared about what would happen. If ever you need a recommendation, forward the request along & I will be happy to give one for you (with high praises of course) :)

About the owner: Jean Charles Dicharry, artist and bilingual writer, is early on interested in performance creation in Amsterdam. This allowed for staged interactive experiments between photography, painting and poetry with the help of mimes and dancers. Later, based in New York, he involves himself internationally with fresco and mural projects. Subsequently the then nascent world of computing offers creative investigation to multimedia virtual art, combining animation, text and sound for installation projects. Presently back in Paris, he now devotes himself mainly to writing.
Why the Owner Chose Paris Arrondissement 11:
My parents bought this home a few years after the second world war. My father, a French naval officer, left France during the war for England to fight the Nazi regime. My English mother was at the admiralty … and so they met. One of the rare benefits of any conflict. They settled in France where I am born. With my sister we all lived in this Parisian nest during the 50's and 60's. I then lived in Holland and the United States When I decided to rent it I had no idea it would be so gratifying. This because travellers visiting give back life to a space that has meaning to me. I know Paris better perhaps than my soul and enjoy giving to visitors who wish so a sense of its history, mystery and spirit.

Access to all parts of Paris are easy either walking (to the Bastille marina and river and the Marais in 15 mn), by subway direct to Champs Elysees, Trocadero and Montmartre (line 9 and 2 – duration of trip 15 to 20 mn depending of the target) or with the fantastic world renowned 69 bus, one block away, which crosses most major points of interest in the city (Pere Lachaise – Bastille marina and opera - Marais - The river Seine & its islands with Notre Dame & the Sainte Chapelle - Beaubourg Museum- Palais Royal - The Louvres museum - Orsay museum – Invalides and the Eifel Tower).
