Welcome to our beautiful vacation home in Dangriga Town, on the coast of Southern Belize. Lewis Family Vacation Home is a private family residence which is a 3 min walk to the Beach. Our home is furnished, has a fully equipped kitchen and laundry. Modern, safe and centrally located, it is a very good vacation base for experiencing Belize. Live in a real neighborhood and soak up the rhythm of the locals.
This upper level rental has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The MASTER has a KING-size bed with its own private bathroom. The second bedroom has a QUEEN-size bed with its own private bathroom as well. The third bedroom has 2 TWIN beds with a general bathroom. The yard is fenced and has a herb garden. The house has a wide, gated veranda - very relaxing - make some herbal tea from the garden.
Located on the main, it is walking distance to the beach, town center, banks, churches, market, post office and water-taxis for day trips to the cayes - snorkel, dive and fishing.
Dangriga Town is the ideal base for day-trips throughout the country, cayes, beaches & fishing villages, and other areas of interest such as the waterfalls, Cockscomb Basin and Maya ruins. Let us arrange a nocturnal tour of the Western Trails for your trip.
For a perfect vacation combine your stay in Dangriga with time on the beach in Hopkins Village, where your meals can be arranged at IRIS' PLACE RESTAURANT - its a good idea to call ahead 533-7019. They will be expecting you. Seine Bight and Placencia, other beach villages, are less than an hour away. You can also spend a day at one of the Southern Cayes.
Dangriga is the heart of the all encompassing Garifuna Cultural Experience. It is one thing to visit the major attractions of a destination, it is another thing entirely, to discover the heart of a destination, this includes the people, places and traditions, that only the locals know and cherish. We had a wonderful time in Dangriga, Belize. The Lewis house is in the center of this lively city. Dangriga has an active Garifuna cultural scene, especially during the Christmas holidays. It is a great jumping-off point for tours of the Mayan ruins, jaguar preserve, the cayes and points south. Take advantage of local meals with Nen, their cousin, and of Julio Saqui, an excellent Mayan tour guide for the ruins and preserve.

We were fortunate to be able to stay at the Lewis House for 2 weeks. The house and Dangriga Town is as delightful as the ad suggests. The house is spacious, very clean, and with the convienence of the full kitchen and laundry it is a very comfortable dwelling. It was almost like staying at home! And yes, the veranda is marvelous. We spent many of our evenings sitting on that veranda, with a cool drink, conversing with our new friends, watching the sun set and Dangriga begin begin its "night life". We have been to Belize before, but I have found the citizens of Dangriga to be the most friendly and helpful of anywhere in the country. We were greeted with people saying "Welcome to my beautiful country" as we walked the streets. Mrs. Rose Diego, the local owner of the Lewis House is an exquisite hostess. She explained the workings of the house lovingly and in great detail. She provided needed resourses and was able to inform us of the perfect guide (Julio Saqui) for our excursions into the Cockscomb Basin wildlife Sanctuary (jaguar reserve)and to the nearby Mayan ruins. Rose was on "24 hour call" to help us with all of our questions. If you are traveling to southern Belize, don't miss this wonderful town and the fantastic people at the Lewis House. It was a delightful experience for us. Jan
