Ravens Nest - A delightful Winter retreat

People think about shore homes as places to go during the summer, and they are. But for us, Raven's Nest is the perfect Winter retreat. For the past 18 years my husband and I have spent the last two weeks in December down the shore, always staying at water-front homes. This was our second year at Raven's Nest, and it is one of our favorite locations. You don't have to be outdoors to enjoy what Raven's Nest offers, including the views (from bedrooms as well as the main living area),the comfortable accommodations, We do jigsaw puzzles, watch movies, go to the gym and shop ast malls --even play miniature golf in Ocean City. If you are vacationing in season, Raven's Nest is a wonderful bet, But if your preference is an off season getaway, know that you can have a terrific esperience here any time of year. That the owners are accessible and easy to deal with only adds to the experience.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: We are glad you choose Ravens Nest for you windter retreat. Come Back Next Year

We just held our annual golf trip and we couldn't have been more happy with the place! We had 10 guys in the group and had plenty of room! The house is well kept, very clean and contains everything you would ever need! It is located close to everything and being right on the Bay was awesome! We would definitely rent this house again! Thanks so much!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: We are glad you had a great time and thank you for the review!

We just returned home from a one week stay at Raven's Nest in Fenwick Island. Wow! The only bad thing to say is that I regret not staying for two weeks. It was absolutely perfect. We did not have a large crowd but found it to work for of us, especially for my 91 year old dad. He has difficulty with stairs so the elevator was wonderful. It made it so easy to access any area of the home as did the golf cart for the neighborhood and pool. Speaking of the neighborhood, you could not ask for a nicer area or people in it! Very special to say the least. We thoroughly enjoyed it all. The views, especially the sunsets, were phenomenal! We had room to spread out and be cozy at the same time. There is a nice variety in the scenic balconies, and everything was provided for us. Just bring the food and the suntan lotion-you're set. Can't wait to go back, even our little dog loved it. It's truly impressive. Thanks Mary. I am beyond happy to have found you and Raven's Nest.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

If you are looking for a great vacation house with scenic views in a very quiet, peaceful area do not hestate to book at Raven's Nest. We enjoyed everything the house has to offer. The bay views are stunning. The house has everything you need including several (at least 8) beach chairs. We spent a few days going to nearby Fenwick Island State Park, a great beach. There are kayaks you can easily put in the water, more than enough dishes, utensils, etc. in the kitchen and plenty of your own outdoor space. We also enjoyed using the crab pots and caught over a dozen crabs, although some were thrown back for lack of size. As far as space in the house we had 6 adults and 4 children (teenage). This worked out great for us without having to use sofa beds. Use of the elevator is great when hauling luggage in/out. All in all a great place to spend a vacation.Did you find this review helpful? We rented Ravens Nest for a fall weekend family get-together. We initially chose the house because we traveled with elderly parents, and figured the elevator would help alleviate the problem of steps. We also wanted a house with water views. We were not disappointed! The house is beautifully decorated with lots of space, warm colors and windows that provided light as well as views of the bay. It was great to be able to sit on the upper deck to watch the sunset ... and to sit on the enclosed screen porch during the warmer parts of the day. The panoramic views of the bay were wonderful. The location is convenient, yet private. It is well maintained and offered plenty of space for 7 adults. The weather was warm enough to put kayaks into the bay from the small beach just down the road from the house. The owners were attentive and helpful. We loved the house, and hope to come back again soon!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, age 55+.
Owner response: We are glad you had a great vacation at Ravens Nest! You are welcome to return anytime.

Stayed at this property: June 2011 | Rating overall experience: Title: We had a ball!!!! Review: I am usually one to pack 10 suit cases to go away for 10 days, but this trip I could have done it in 1. Everything you need is there. Don't bring extra sheets, don't worry about kitchen utinsels, fans or grills. Raven's Nest has it all. Some of our favorite times were spent on the screened in porch on the 2nd floor, it was a great place for the adults to talk and unwind. One morning we had a few showers and the kids stayed out there and played cards. The accomodations are great and the rooms were a perfect fit for us. The one room with the bunks is a little tight if you have 8-12 year olds staying in there with parents. The King size bedrooms have plenty of room and the queen canal is perfect for two people. If you like a balcony for sunbathing, the fifth room is for you, however it has a pull out couch for a bed. The two bedrooms upstairs share a bathroom. The King on the 2nd floor (above the garage) has a private en suite, the canal queen and the bunks share another bathroom. The laundry room was another great feature. Fishing is right at your front door, down the street or on the beach dock at the end of the street, and the sunsets over the bay are fantastic. I would not recommend the beach at the end for swimming, but the pool is clean and lots of fun and has a lifeguard on duty. The State park beach is where we went and it was clean and cheap, pack a lunch and you are set for the day. There are beach chairs and umbrellas in the garage along with the kayak's and life vests. The golf cart was great for me since I have knee trouble. The kids had a great time and were better than the adults, LOL.... AC keeps the house comfortable and I didn't have to worry about using the fans I brought with me. There are two food shopping stores nearby and the prices are not bad. The restaurants leave something to be desired compared with ours in NJ bu we had a great time bar-b-queing and had two entree's every night, kid pleasing and adult fare. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did. FYI: We had 8 adults and 5 kids. Location: Union County, New JerseyDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We came to Raven's Nest for our small family wedding celebration in September and it was perfect. The sunset behind us on the Bay from the top deck provided a beautiful setting and the lower porch, kitchen and great room were perfect for the crab dinner afterwards. Everyone slept comfortably and the young adults loved kayaking and biking. The house was immaculate, well equipped, and pretty. Both our friends that came and those who saw our pictures want to come to Raven's Nest in Fenwick for their family celebrations! We will definitely recommend it and hopefully come to stay again. Thanks!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway.
