We had a triple celebration at the "Timeout" beach house. My husband turned 80 in December and so our family decided to have a 3 in one celebration -- Thanksgiving, Christmas and my husbands big 80! It was grand. Our children came in from NY & SC and we had ample bedrooms with their own baths for both families. My husband and I loved basking in the beautiful 'Master Bedroom" -- what luxury. The house was convenient to many attractions on the Island and when we were home there was a closet full of board games to play. We loved walking the long pier overlooking the Bogue Sound -- so beautiful. We took a day trip up to New Bern and took the historic tour -- don't miss that. But best of all was cooking in the beautiful kitchen with two dishwasher. Our family loves to cook -- all of us have so much fun in the kitchen. Time Out was clean, comfortable, and cozy -- all at the same time. The beds were so comfortable and the electric golf cart was a hoot! Thank you Craig & Valerie -- we had a blast. I want to thank Craig for allowing us to share in his beautiful home. We loved it! Everything is well thought out and the kitchen (with its HUGE walk-in pantry) was amazing. TWO dishwashers and a large ice maker were the icing on the cake. The bedrooms were well appointed and the screened in back porch was our favorite place to hang out. There were plenty of restaurants to choose from. Craig gave us great advice on some local specialties and everything he suggested was delicious. Although, I must say, we didn’t go out every night. We just couldn’t leave the house. It really was marvelous. I could go on and on about the great time that we had here. I just want anyone that is considering this home for a rental to know that the owners are honest folks who are there to make your stay absolutely perfect. I have never witnessed such pride in customer service as Craig displayed. If we called with a question, he would return our calls immediately. He was kind, polite and a joy to chat with. Speaking to him made us feel like we had known him forever. Thank you, Craig. Your hospitality was superb.

House was well furnished and clean. Nice kitchen and living area. Bedrooms were adequate. Linens were not included. House phones did not work. Distance to beach parking was farther than advertised. Very nice and clean shared pool just behind house. Electric vehicle was useful but the seatbelt on the back row was broken. Limbs from tree next to driveway scraped our van every time we drove in/out of garage. Poor customer service. We notified property manager of above problems on our first day and we never heard back from her. Owner took about two months to return our security deposit. Beach was nice and fairly quiet. Local dining was a bit disappointing. Fort Macon was our favorite activity. Overall, the house was a good value.

Owner response:Wow, I am not quite sure what to say. I am almost at a loss for words. I did not expect this bad of a review from this customer. First, customer booked last minute and his payment did not show up when he said it would. I let them into the house without receiving payment anyway. When I finally received it, the check bounced. His deposit check cleared. He did send another check but I wanted to make absolute sure it cleared. So yes I held onto his deposit longer than normal. I have an imbedded Google map on my site. The Map shows our house location and beach location. Not sure how distance is misrepresented. If you look at the map, I assure you the ocean is where Google says it is and my house is where indicated on the map. This guest stayed shortly after Hurricane Irene directly hit our area. My phone did not work yet as our modem was damaged in storm. We also had some limbs overhanging the left side of the driveway. If customer would have parked on right side, scratches would not have happened. Regarding poor customer service, simply not true. Items may not have been fixed as quickly as he would have liked, but the folks who take care of the property were tending to other homes they take care of that had major damage from the Hurricane.

I would highly recommend spending your vacation at TimeOut Beachhouse if you are wanting a relaxed atmosphere close to shops, restaurants and easy access to the beach and/or pool. My four children LOVED the pool and also the daily walks we took to the private island- early mornings were great as well as watching the sunset in the late evenings. The scenary of the sound was just amazing! We also enjoyed spending MOST of our "family" time on the outside porch- PRICELESS! The owners reached out several times to make sure we had everything we needed and were a pleasure to deal with. I hope to spend many more vacations at TimeOUT!

A Great Place To Get Away

Our entire family (there were 10 of us) all enjoyed our stay in "Timeout". The house was very clean upon arrival. We had a wonderful relaxing vacation. The men golfed, the women shopped and we all had a day at the beach and at Ft. Macon. We definitely like the 2 dishwashers and ice maker in the kitchen and the washer and dryer...all were used alot. I am handicapped, so the elevator was a bonus. The large dining room was an ideal place for board games after dinner. We would recommend this home for others to use, in fact we have already recommended it to our friends.

Fantasy Vacation!

I can not begin to describe how much my family and I enjoyed the Time Out Beach House. We lived in a fantasy world for a week! The home is amazing, not to mention the neighborhood. Every amenity you can think of is supplied, from a grill, electric car, screened in porch, elevator, games, beach accessories, etc. Regardless of your age, or what you are celebrating, this is the perfect choice. We could not have asked for a better vacation destination. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to have the oppoortunity to do it again very soon!

Fun at Timeout

We stayed at Timeout over the Columbus Day Holiday. Lots of family and plenty of elbow room. We really enjoyed the quick access to the beach and shopping. The pool and porch were our favorite hangouts. Owners allowed weary travelers to check in and refresh before our photo shoot at Fort Macon. A memorable moment for the grandchildren riding in the electric cart. Thanks to the owners!

Family Celebration

We rented this home for my mother's 70th birthday celebration. 3 families with teenagers stayed here. The living and dining area was perfect for our family gathering. The individual suites provided privacy and there were ample bathrooms for when the gang was all getting ready to go out. The shower in the upstairs master suite was a hit with everyone with the extra jets! We loved the pool and the gazebo on the private island (where we took some beautiful family pics). The grocery store and plenty of food places were nearby. Beaufort is a short 15 minute drive if you are looking for a little history. Our family had a wonderful time and everyone loved the house! It was a pleasure dealing with the owners!

My husband got off the plane Saturday July 17 and our vaction started July 18. 4 generations under one roof. Beautiful home, has everything you need and a little more. Our young grandchildren loved the elevator and the golf cart and the pool the best. We the adults just loved being together as a family. There were 12 of us staying at the house and another 8 more family members came over daily. More than enough space for everyone in this beautiful house. Hope to come back again. Craig was awesome to deal with and answered every question we had. Great time for everyone.

Time Out is GREAT!

The house was great. The screened porch and the kitchen seemed to be the gathering place for our four families. The dual dishwashers were a lifesaver as well. Great time had by all and looking forward to many future return visits. The kids thought the elevator was the best thing ( I personally loved it for loading and unloading baggage.) I wish the pool hours were extended past dusk.

Our week at your lovely home was a lovely Blessing. This was a first time vacation for our whole family and I truly believe everyone had a grand time. Your home was so comfortable and so well equipped! Our family is one with alot of good cooks;so the kitchen was well used!The elevator was of great use getting our baggage up and down. The owner was always available for questions or suggestions. The pool was immaculately kept and directly outside the back door. It was close to the beach where the children loved to boogie board!The nearby restaurants were great...McCurdy's and The Island Grill were to name a few.I would recommend this wonderful home to others and hopefully we will visit again!We were also able to catch the fireworks down at The Circle with a beach band...Great! Thank you again for this blessed time with family and friends.

The house was a perfect place for my family to stay as we prepared for my wedding on the beach. There was plenty of room for everyone to sleep, as well as a large den/dining area that could accommodate all of us. Even the golf cart that came with the place was great, as it made the tedious rides to the grocery store a blast. We'll definitely have to get back and stay at this house again.

Great, comfortable home for offseason large family getaway. Quiet home with ample room for grown children and extended family. Lots of amenities and nicely furnished. Well equiped kitchen. What a wonderful place to stay. We have stayed at your home twice. Once when our son left for Afghastian and a year later when he came home. I can't say enough about the house. The beds are very comfortable and the master bath is fabulous. The elevator was great so that the grandparents could also come with us and be able to get around the house with ease. This house is truly magnificent!! The pictures on the website do not do it justice. We had a group of 14 adults and were very comfortable. Everything is right at your fingertips..from the stores, the beach, restaurants, etc. We WILL be coming back!

Craig what a great place you have! We loved sitting in the screened in porch at night in those awesome chairs! Your golf cart was fantastic for trips to the grocery store and back! We took the whole family (9 adults and 4 kids) and had plenty of room. The huge dining room table accomodated almost everyone. The pool is so close to your house it made it so convenient and the boardwalk to the private island was super cool! Thanks for being so trustworthy to deal with.

We rented this place with 4 other couples for the seafood festival. It was A+++++ house. The owner was great responded to our e-mails, kitchen stocked with dishes,utensils needed to cook with etc, ice machine was great to have ( I want one now) and comfortable beds. We highy recommend this house and we are looking forward to going back. The price is right for the area. Most of all the house was clean. You will not regret renting this house.

Thank you Craig and Valerie your beach house was absolutely fabulous!... This house has everything you could possibly image... huge kitchen, spacious rooms, private bathrooms in each bedroom,wi-fi,and state of the art entertainment center. My family and I had a wonderful time, everything was in walking distance but the ironing of having the electric cart, made it even better. The boardwalk was very refreshing. My family and I look forward to returning in March 2010.

We had a wonderful family vacation in Time-Out! The house was clean and had plenty of space and comfortable beds for our group of 6 adults and 4 children. We cooked every night and the kitchen was well supplied with everything we needed. The two dishwashers and ice maker were a great help! The location was fabulous. We never really needed our cars once we arrived. We could walk or drive the golf cart to the grocery store, hardware store, shops, restaurants, and of course the beach and the pool. We are looking forward to returning to the house for another week later this year!

"Time Out" is a fantastic home! If you are still looking for a vacation home in Atlantic Beach...you just found it! Very spacious, clean, high end furniture/appliances and close to everything. Excellent for large families and very kid friendly!!

Way to much image and no substance. gaudy houses are packed in 10 feet apart,ugly furniture, If you are a Lexus or Yukon driving, Rolex wearing, "look at me, I'm better than you" show off redneck then you will like it here. If you are a normal family who isnt interested in being "upscale, high end, luxurious" then look for the older nicer houses still available at Atlantic Beach.

If you do not like being surrounded by nice things or sleeping in a comfortable bed in clean surroundings, you should not rent our house as you will be disappointed. Thank you for pointing this out.

This house is a first class vacationers' dream! The lay out is perfect for a big family. A gourmet kitchen is a cook's delight. The den is spacious with a plasma TV and a great surround sound system. The pool and playground area are kid friendly. I would stongly recommend "TIME OUT" to anybody!!
