Nice home, but dated. Beautiful scenery. Roads are horrible, narrow and winding. The neighbors were very helpful with directions etc
Owner response:The house is built of mostly cedar with large natural-stone fireplace. The roads are all paved, well-maintained mountain roads and there are directions for all trails, walks etc. in the house.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers.

If you want a vaccation nesteled in the moutains, where you can see deer and such, this place is it. Our family very much enjoyed our vaccation. The owner is great to work with. The house is an large, oldered, well maintained home and offers a large wrap around deck (that puts you in the tree tops). However the roads getting to the house are awful. It may only be 10 miles from Boone. but takes about 30 min. to get there, Make sure your brakes are good. No motor cycles are allowed. We were not told this intill we trailed 3 of them 1000 miles. Great overall experience.

What a beautiful place!! We had such a great time and I will certainly tell others about it. The deer and wild turkeys were a sight. The beds were so very comfortable, my husband said he had never had such a good nights sleep. Thanks Pat for sharing your lovely mountain home with us. Hope to be there again real soon. Sue and Pete

My family stayed at the Cheadle Chalet for my brother's graduation from Appalachian State. We had a wonderful time. The cabin is spacious enough to sleep a large group, and has plenty of outdoor space, TVs, and games so that everyone can enjoy their time. We would certainly look in to renting this beautiful cabin again for another escape to the mountains!

We had a family get together here in April and everyone had a great time. It was a wonderful, relaxing long weekend. The chalet was great and everyone wants to come back here again next year. Mrs. Cheadle was absolutely great to work with.

My wife and I just spent the week at the Cheadle Chalet and had a tremendous week. This Mountain home is an absolutely perfect place for a family vacation, or just a getaway for a couple. Powder Horn is such a beautiful spot in the Appalachain Mountains, and this cabin is a neat refuge nestled in this naturally majestic setting. My wife and I are excited to take others to this cabin, the lower level has 2 beds, a full bath, and a nice ping pong table, our family would be happy with just this level. The main level is so spacious, my wife really enjoys the layout of the kitchen. Whether sitting out on the deck and listening, or hiking some of the trails on the mountain it is amazing to take in this scenic part of God's awesome creation.

Wow! We just came back from our 2 day stay at the Cheadle Chalet and it was just amazing. Right from the moment I showed interest in this Log Cabin, Pat Cheadle was making sure our trip was memorable. The cabin was amazing right from the moment we stepped in. The pictures in the vrbo website didnot do justice at all. Nice spacious rooms, well furnished and the ambience was astonishing. Had all the amenities we ever wanted. It is located in the midst of the forest and the drive was breath taking, with constant glances at the many deers that roamed around. Just 1/2 hour's drive to the Appalachian Ski place. For our next get together, this would definitely be the place of choice. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the place. Many thanx to Pat.

My husband and I just spent a much needed weekend of quiet and relaxation at the Cheadle Chalet on Powder Horn Mountain. From the moment we were welcomed by three young deer in the yard, we found this to be a delightful home with almost all the amenities anyone could need while on vacation. We hope to be back in the fall for a longer stay.
