All Portofino units are created equal, but some are more equal than others! This unit in Tower 5 stands shoulders above the rest for two important reasons. #1.The view. We all talk about it and say that we have it, but...this unit has an "unobstructed" panaramic view towards the west and includes not just the Gulf of Mexico, but also the island and the sound. The wrap around balcony lets you see incomparable sunset views over the island along with the snow white beaches and sky blue ocean. Other units will let you see these luxurious sights, but do so by "peeking" through or around the other Portofino towers. Or you may just see the Sound or overlook the swimming pools. We have the Best! #2.If you are interested in the Portofino Resort, you want a luxuriously furnished condo with all ammenities. We stayed here last Oct. and can not wait to return! We arrived at 2:00am-in the dark- and the condo was so beautifully decorated, so spacious, and the bed so comfortable!!! Our 5 y.o.son was so excited about the huge tub he had to take a bubble bath right then! We didn't think it could get any better. But it DID !!! Waking up to the amazing views.. from everywhere!!! The balcony literally wraps around so you can gaze at the ocean or gulf just by turning your head. The view from every window is another beach postcard! We honestly didn't even want to leave the condo the first day, but the beautiful beach, fantastic pool and dolphin cruise beckoned us! The dolphin cruise was great- they even let our son take the wheel! This resort is really all the vacation you need. The beach is just a few steps away and the resort had water toys and trampolines on the gulf side for kids to play on. We ate burgers-poolside, ordered pizza and took it back to the room, and just drove 5 minutes for shopping and dinner out--although we only left the resort once. Cooking was actually a pleasure in that kitchen! 3 days just wasn't enough! Absolute LUXURY!!!!
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, families with young children.
