Welcome to the Beverly Serral Signature Rental home at 17 Hollyberry Lane, Greenwood Forest, Sea Pines.
Our philosophy as is that your vacation experience should be completely comfortable.
Top of the list: CLEAN. And we mean CLEAN in ALL CAPS! We are told over and over that our homes are the cleanest our guests have ever stayed in. It is one of Signature hallmarks and we take CLEAN seriously.
Hollyberry House is light and bright and filled with every amenity that we appreciate ... great electronics; crisp, cotton sheets and fluffy pillows; top tier appliances; and lots of information about everything to do on the Island. The pine floors and carpets are clean and fresh-smelling, as are the fabulous furnishings. The bright, open kitchen, featuring all white dishes and lots of accoutrement.
A spacious living room with new 39" LCD flat screen HDTV with DVD player (plus video library) opens to a huge deck with comfy outdoor furniture, just the place for sunning, sipping, or chatting.
Three bedrooms (1 King, 1 Queen, 1 Queen) each boast the comfiest bed linens we could find, with "down alternative" pillows (great for those who may be allergic to the real thing) as well as LCD TV/DVD players in each room. Baths are all new and spic and span! There is a big laundry room with space for hanging wet things after swimming. Ceiling fans and AC make even the inside breezy.
Stay connected to the outside world with high speed wireless internet.

No pets in your party? No problem as there is NO pet smell in this house!
LOCATION: Physical address is 17 Hollyberry Lane, HHI, SC 29928.
HOW FAR TO BEACH: 2 minutes by car, 7 minutes by bike, or 15 minutes walking to the ocean.
More details--hop in your car and drive to Sea Pines Beach Club in 2 minutes. There you can rent beach chairs and umbrellas, sip a cool drink at the Beach Bar, or grab a freshly grilled burger from the grill. Children's activities, full baths, and a shore store complete the Beach Club. THE OCEAN IS A 15 MINUTE WALK from the house, GOOD FOR A STROLL OR FOR EXERCISE; BUT, IF TAKING CHILDREN OR LOTS OF BEACH GARB, BETTER TO BIKE OR DRIVE. There is plenty of parking at the Beach Club, but in summer, we suggest best parking is before 10 am or after 2 pm.
BIKING: Biking is the BEST in Sea Pines. You can have adult and child-sized bikes, toddler seats, and pull-alongs all delivered and waiting for you when you arrive. Please see our Guest Pak that you will receive when you inquire with your prospective dates of reservation.
BEACH EQUIPMENT: We have 6 folding beach chairs at the house along with a big beach umbrella, sand toys and lots of beach towels. Take the umbrella with you to the beach OR, if you prefer, you can rent traditional chairs and umbrellas directly from the lifeguards. Full information is in our Guest Pak.
SPECIAL OCCASIONS: A special birthday cake? Dinner Reservations or Personal Chef? Kayak Tour or Fishing Trip? We have great connections to the best people, purveyors, and programs available on the Island. Just let us know what will make your vacation the BEST!
BEST PRICE?: Please note that we sincerely appreciate your interest in our home, but that we ADHERE FIRMLY to the generous discount policies listed here. Our guests have always found extraordinary value and comfort in our property. We look forward to welcoming you as well!
HOW TO CALCULATE YOUR TOTAL RATE: For a week long stay, start with your rental rate (below), then add 11% for sales and lodging taxes, then add $45 for damage insurance policy (required!). This is your total-- no additional charges for "administrative" or “booking" fees.
PAYMENT: a 50% deposit is required at time of reservation, with full payment at 60 days before arrival. We gladly accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and your personal check. Full details and cancellation policies are outlined in our Initial Rental Policies document which will be emailed to you once we receive your inquiry and requested dates.
SHORT STAYS: Start with the weekly rate, then pro-rate for your number of nights (see minimum), then add $165 for departure cleaning, then add 11% taxes, then add $45 damage insurance to arrive at total.
DISCOUNTS FOR LAST MINUTE BOOKINGS: Book 8-21 days in advance of arrival and receive 15% off published rate. Book 7 or fewer days in advance and receive 25% off published rate. First adjust the rate for the discount, then add taxes, (and cleaning if a short stay) and $45 damage insurance.
WINTER OR LONG TERM RENTALS: Buy 3 weeks and get one free! No tax is required for rentals 90 days or longer. Ask about our winter "Super Specials": 3 months for one price including travel/trip interruption insurance.
MULTI-WEEK SPRING, SUMMER, FALL RENTALS: 5% discount off weekly rate.
TRAVEL INSURANCE: Calculated as 7% of your final total less damage insurance, this optional yet encouraged program protects your entire group from financial loss of your vacation dollars. Ask for details when you inquire. Even pre-existing medical conditions can be included.

- Best of all, this house smells good! For the enjoyment of all guests, no smoking indoors, please. Beach chairs and beach towels are included at 17 Hollyberry. You may also rent the traditional beach chairs and big umbrellas from Shore Beach Service to be set up at the Sea Pines Beach Club. Plan to call ahead and rent/reserve bikes for the whole family before arriving, especially in the busy summer months. Complete details will be sent in Guest Pak when reserving your stay! New beginning Summer 2011: Daily delivery of our semi-famous local newspaper, The Island Packet. ("It must be true, I read it in the Packet!")
- Suitability
- Pet Friendly : We have had a few great dogs (even one cat) over the past 5 years and not a peep out of any of them. Your well-behaved pet is also welcome.
- Handicapped Accessible (may have limitations) : We're not sure if this house truly qualifies under ADA, but it is one level and very open. There is one small step onto the front entry, otherwise just the usual thresholds at door openings.
- Kid Friendly : We love children! The neighborhood pool is right around the corner, but not in the backyard. (Parents like this as kids cannot see the pool and therefore do not beg to be in it every second!) The house is open and spacious and the cul-de-sac on which it is located is perfect for bikes and big wheels! All new playground February 2012.
- Minimum Age Limit for Renters : Minimum age is 25 for at least one responsible guest.
- Smoking Not Allowed : Smoking is a no-no inside, but enjoy a smoke on the back porch if you like. We keep a couple of ashtrays in the outdoor storage closet.

Why the Owner Chose Greenwood Forest
In addition to vacation host, I am also a real estate broker and vacation home remodeler. I actually planned for 17 Hollyberry to be a resale project, but as the market turned in the middle of my renovations, I decided to put the house to work. Against conventional wisdom (or lack thereof), I made 17 Hollyberry into the top vacation rental home in its class by making it completely comfortable and full of fabulous finds ... finds that you will usually NOT find in most Sea Pines vacation homes, even the "luxury" ones.
The Unique Benefits at this House
I don't want to give all away, as you WILL find a few nice surprises here. But, suffice it to say that I always keep something blooming at 17 Hollyberry, in addition to all of the other super comfy things you will read about on our vrbo page. Two things you absolutely cannot beat in any Sea Pines vacation home at any price: We have the Island's BEST housekeepers and your host (me) is only minutes away should you need her (me). You definitely deserve the best nest you can find ... and this is it!
The Lighthouse....the Yachts... Gregg Russell at the Liberty Oak... The Quarterdeck...the Crazy Crab...Nell's Harbour Shop....the Playground....a must-go-to!
Have a drink or a burger, buy a float or a boogie board, rent chairs and umbrellas, flirt with the lifeguards, paint a t-shirt, dance in the sand, read a book, play with your kids, make a memory.
Great big horses and itty bitty horses. Twin horses and single horses. Old horses and baby horses and lots of other animals. Ride the nice horses through the Forest Preserve or just stop by to pet.
Truffles and Guiseppi's-- yummy food! Palmettoes and the Back Door- yummy clothes! Forsythe-- yummy jewels. And a post office, too!

Good grief ... I was just trying to add a Google Map and they want to know all about me...... I feel like this is e-har-vrbo-mony. Ok, I am a native Tennessean, now a South Carolinian and Hilton Head Islander. I first visited Sea Pines as a VERY small child in 1971, where my brother and I pedaled for hours on the same bike paths on which my children now bike and rollerblade. As a grown up, I adore living in Sea Pines. If I won the lottery, I would buy a bigger house ... HERE.

This home was absolutely perfect! The owners were more than accommodating! The pictures are completely accurate. When we arrived, there was a welcome basket with snacks and beverages. All the rooms were very clean. All linens and towels were like new. We would definitely stay here again.

"We have stayed at many VRBO rentals over the years with mixed results. This property on Hollyberry in Sea Pines is the cleanest, most complete, most organized rental I have ever had the pleasure of renting. I am a very picky renter and always miss some item in the kitchen or bath or laundry. This rental had absolutely everything; from paper towels in the kitchen to extra beach towels and a wheeled cooler for the picnic at the beach. There were dryer sheets and detergent and extra light bulbs and batteries. Every drawer and shelf in the kitchen is labeled so you know where everything is. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything we needed for baking a cake and cookies to making a full thanksgiving feast for the family. There were plenty of towels for everyone in the family and the bathrooms were immaculate. Everything worked, from TVs in every bedroom and remote controls to the DVD player and nicely varied selection of videos. There were games for the children to play and a lovely backyard seating area for all of us to enjoy. This is the best rental ever. The entire home was decorated tastefully and cohesively. Can you tell that we loved this place? If we go back to Hilton Head, there will be no discussion, we will rent this home again. Do not hesitate to rent this property. It is lovely."

Oftentimes, when purchasing something on line, the reality is far from what was represented. This was the case with 17 Hollyberry, although in this case, we were completely surprised by how much more amazing this rental home is!! It's clean, supremely comfortable, and feels like home. Beverly has thought of everything, and we felt like she personally cared about our vacation! We can't wait to come back!!

Our stay was great. It was so nice to be in a cozy house rather than a hotel. No noise and no interruptions. Everything was clean and well maintained and Beverly was easy to get in touch with if we had any questions. We went on a dolphin tour and kayaking and ate ourselves silly both at restaurants and at the house. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property. Colette

That just about says it all. This wonderful home away from home is the perfect manageable size for a family of 4 and a dog who loves nothing more than to relax on the peaceful deck with the rest of us! The kitchen is wonderfully stocked and so well maintained. We rarely got in our car because we could get everywhere in Sea Pines on our rented bikes within a few minutes and even went out past the gate without any effort! Sea Pines is beautiful and has everything you need for the perfect relaxing vacation. Our bedrooms and bathrooms were spotless and practically new with comfy linens and plenty of towels for all! The thoughtful snacks upon arrival were a lovely surprise and the only complaint about the huge list of resources and activities is that we just didn't have enough time to do it all. This vacation spot can be as active or quiet and relaxing as you wish, with the perfect home to plant yourself in while you are there! Just sitting outside on the quiet deck under a canopy of pine trees, live oaks dripping with Spanish moss and Palmetto Palms while watching and listening to all the songs of many local birds is enough to keep us happy....knowing that the afternoon could be filled with wave runners or kayaking or more bike riding ! And of course way too much delicious seafood to fill our bellies! The truth is...we just cannot wait to come back as soon as we can! And we envy anyone who gets to stay there in the meantime!
