I just spent 5 days at Cliff View and I am here to tell you, It couldn't have been any better! The place was completely stocked with everything you would need, and very, very clean! There is a general store and a tavern right next door which was a super big plus for me! I will be back! Thanks Tony and Jeff, I had a wonderful time!!

Our family of four has been spending several days a year at Cliff View for 5 years now primarily because of the close proximity to family. Its central location to our favorite fishing spots and various Black Hills attractions is another reason we keep coming back. Every day is a road trip and we keep finding new places to explore and enjoy so transportation is a must. It is a great place to relax after a long day. This year we included other family members from New York and Nebraska and we all had a wonderful stay. The apartments are very comfortable, clean and well maintained. This year we met Tony for the first time and found him very personal and helpful.

We recently stayed at Cliff View and were very happy with our stay. Tony was very accommodating and helpful. The apartment was clean and pleasant, with nice amenities (kitchen, laundry, etc). It was great to have an apartment with full amenities for our family of 4, as it allowed us to feel like we had a home to come back to, rather than just a hotel room. The apartment is centrally located to many towns/attractions, and enabled us to venture out in a different direction each day, thus seeing lots of different sites. I was a little disappointed about not having internet in the apartment, but the people at the store next door were pleasant and accommodating, so I was able to access to WiFi as needed. Overall we were very pleased with our stay and would recommend Cliff View.

We had never stayed at a Vacation Apartment before. We were in the Rapid City area because our son was getting married and chose Cliff View because it was close to the wedding reception, where we would also be spending time setting up and tearing down the decorations and tables, etc. the day before and the day after the reception. We enjoyed walking around the area every day as it is very scenic. I was in contact with Tony, the owner, numerous times via email and he spent a lot of time answering my questions and sending us directions and a list of places to see. I was very impressed with his helpfulness. The unit we stayed in was well-equipped and roomy to make it very comfortable. I really liked coming back there at the end of a busy day. It was a great home-away-from home. There was even a nightlight and a couple of fans, three ample closets and a lot of shelving and drawer space as well as a nice kitchen, dining area, and living room. Having 1 1/2 baths was appreciated. The water pressure was fine. We would certainly come back to Cliff View if we are in the area again. I would not want to stay in a motel room anymore when we are traveling. Vacation apartments are the way to go. I liked having a gas station/convenience store with deli so close. The baked beans at the deli were excellent. We didn't have a lot of time for sight-seeing because of wedding activities, but the location of Cliff View is convenient for sight-seeing. We are happy we found Cliff View and think you would be happy too.

Tony was GREAT! - He was very understanding of our situation in flying in town on a standy-by status and if availablility would still be there. Thank you for all the help and patience. Unit was clean and quiet. Jeff who manages the property was GREAT as well! Location is wonderful with lots of georgous scenery all around. Not far from the main town of Rapid City. I have already recommended this place to co-workers who travel alot as well! Only negative...extremely low water pressure. But hey..we are not traveling for the water pressure! Most definiately will stay here again!!!!

The description of the property regarding the location, layout and amentities was an understatment! We couldnt have been more centrally located to see the entire region. Tony was a great host and attended to all our needs and was most acomadating. There was some traffic noise due to the proximity of the hiway and store but was expected with it being just befor bike week. Water pressure could have been a bit stronger but felt wonderful after a long day seeing the sites. I would highly recommend this property and will return to it in the future. We enjoyed the scenic drives through the parks, needles hiway, the monuments and our nephew mostly liked Bear Country.

Very reasonable rate for a two bedroom, fully furnished apartment. As all prior visitors have noted, Tony, one of the owners is great to work with and very knowledgeable of the entire area. He even gave us of great places to see beyond the normal wonderful sites....Mt. Rushmore, the Badlands, etc. Museums like to Wounded Knee museum in Wall, S.D. gave us a greater perspective of South Dakota and U.S. history. The apartments are easy to get to, next to a general store, quiet and 'out of the city'. Easy access to all sites. We have much more to see on our next visit and plan to stay at the Cliff View again. Again...we appreciated Tony's great service and making this trip wonderful.

Upon arrival we were immediately concerned about the tavern next door and the noise level they were making. Tony assured us that it typically doesn't get too loud, however having two young children with us, and tired from our long drive we were a little anxious about the whole thing. To our surprise the tavern cleared off around 11 pm, and our next night which was on a Friday was completely noiseless. The facilities were very clean, LOTS of space, beds were comfortable, and Tony honored our request for an extra airbed. Everything was in working order, we had an adequate amount of dishes and utensils to use. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend these apartments to anyone.

This apartment has literally everything you need to enjoy the Black Hills. Its location is central - about as far to Deadwood as to Custer State Park, for example. The neighborhood is clean, and there's a general store about 100 yards away for necessities. More importantly, it's a clean complex! In our unit, the kitchen was fully stocked with anything you'd need to cook some meals at 'home' versus eating out and spending extra money, it was spacious and offered a nice little outside area for coffee in the morning or a cocktail in the evening. There's even on-site locked laundry which was a great convenience and allowed us to do laundry without sitting in a stuffy laundromat watching our clothes. We highly recommend this rental! You can't beat the price, cleanliness or convenience.

After searching endlessly for a nice, reasonably priced place to stay, I finally found this place. Mr. Kaliss (Tony) was quick to respond to my inquiry and all of our needs. He runs a wonderful place there in the Black Hills that has all the comforts of home and the bonus of the beautiful scenery, the store next door and the fantastic deli (which we highly recommend). Mr. Kaliss provided us with more than enough info on the area and the attractions. He was right there if we needed anything and was so helpful and kind. The apt. was great, comfortable, clean and situated perfectly for all the attractions. If you want the best place to stay that is out of the way from the busy city, yet perfectly located, then this is the place. We were so thrilled with our time there that we are thinking about going back in the fall. We know all our S. Dakota stays will be with Mr. Kaliss in his comfortable vacation apartments nestled in the Black Hills! Thanks again Tony for everything. :) We honestly don't think we could say enough good things about you and your place. Monica and Scott Bonynge (Colorado)

We stayed in the 2BR+ extra room which slept 3 adults, 2 children, and a toddler comfortably. The unit is spacious and was immaculately clean upon our arrival. All the appliances and electronics were functional. We were provided with soap and dishsoap, plenty of dishes and silverware, and there was even coffee and filters available! We cooked several meals for 6 in the full kitchen. It is convenient having the general store next door for forgotten items as well as liquid sustenance. We were able to use the apartment as a base for exploring the Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse monuments, as well as Deadwood, Devil's Tower, and even the Badlands park on our way home. The owner was very helpful and responsive in organizing our stay and ensuring that we were comfortable. Definitely, highly recommended as your resting place when exploring the Black Hills!

We enjoyed staying here this winter. Due to winter storm we arrived one day later. Tony gave me a break for the lost day. Not many BR owners would do that, contract is contract. Tony and Jeff are flexible, good communicators, bent over backward to make our stay as smooth as possible. It's like staying at a friend's place in the mountains.

Looking for a place to stay in the Rapid City area is always a challenge around the time of the Sturgis Rally because so many places are very expensive. We just recently stayed at Cliffview apartments and found a wonderful place to stay at a very reasonable price. It made our stay in the Black Hills even more special. The listing was accurate and the apartments were very clean and well maintained. My whole family definitely recommends this property to friends as well as relatives. The drive into Rapid City was so beautiful and for a real treat, one day we saw mountain goats so close to the road that we took excellent pictures of them.

THANK YOU TONY & GAIL ~ for providing such wonderful, extremely reasonably priced, clean, complete & "homey" facilities!! I stayed in both a one-bedroom & the two-bedroom Apts. during my 11 day stay at the Cliff View Vacation Rentals; and when they say they are roomy apts. there is no exaggeration there. EVERYTHING (except food) was provided in a pleasant, comfortable atmosphere where I enjoyed my time with my two children. In my future visits to this area, I will most definitely want to stay at the Cliff View Vacation Rentals (hoping there will be availability...they fill up FAST because they are great!!). These kind & caring people are a Blessing in my book; thank you again! Thia from Central Maine

Chris and I actually own the General Store and deli next to Cliff View at Johnson Siding. This past winter was brutal to say the least and this was the first winter Chris and I could not make it back to Rapid City where our house is during several blizzards. Tony and Gail were very gracious in offering us a place to crash so we could keep the store open during the storms. We stayed 4 nights in all and we found everything to be excellent. We had everything we needed and enjoyed a comfortable nights sleep during the winter storms. Thanks Gail and Tony for allowing us the opportunity to check out your apartments. We would highly recommend to anyone traveling in the Black Hills winter or summer. See you at the Siding!! Pat

The unit was clean and well-furnished, and so much better than staying in a motel room. Actually, we would have had to rent 2 motel rooms, which would have cost at least twice as much and wouldn't have been half as nice. The property manager quickly addressed any requests. The convenient parking immediately next to the unit was great. Congratulations to Gail & Tony for doing such a great job remodeling. Well worth the money compared to the high priced hotels in the city! We plan to revisit again soon and hopefully stay longer.
