My experience in Golden Stars Budapest Apartments was nothing less than wonderful. For the past several years, I have been spending a few weeks during the fall in Budapest and this stay was one of the best. The accommodations were great. For a single traveler, and even a couple, this is the perfect place. Reasonable rate, spectacular location, and the most hospitable host (Tomas). Fantastic local cafes and restaurants from the doorstep. Convenient Metro stops very near the apartment. Highly recommend these holiday apartments!

I've rented many different holiday apartments in Budapest over the years, but this one combines comfort, cleanliness, affordability and location at its best. In a hotel you just visit Budapest, in this apartment you live there. It's a moment away from bustling shops, restaurants, the Metro and the Danube, yet it is a quiet haven to come home to. The owner is dependable, honest and informative, which, regrettably, one does not always experience in vacation rentals. Be sure to eat at For Sale Pub, a tiny and cozy restaurant at the corner, and shop at the Old Market Hall. You can rent this apartment with confidence -- just don't do it on the dates I want to return:) The DREAM Apartment located on the 4th floor, building with the lift. Highly recommend!

I stayed at the Golden Stars Deluxe over the week of Thanksgiving 2011 (Nov. 19 throught 28). Tomas was true to the terms we neogiated for my stay. Pick-up from the airport was a much appreciated offering. The Deluxe is well suited for people who like to be out of tourist hot sports while still having access to everything. The 2 main tourist tram lines have stops steps from the door. The place is simple, but clean, as good as any hotel you my stay at. There's a nice neighborhood bar on the street as well as a hip wine bar, best of both worlds. I recommend this place for any single or double traveling team.

I can't express enough what a great apartment this was to stay in. Not to mention what a great host Tomas was. Communication with him in the months before the trip was great, and when we arrived he was at the apartment waiting for us so he could give us a tour of the amenities (which are great), give us tips on restaurants, and to help us get oriented around the city. The location was fantastic, close to everything, and we'll definitely be staying here again when we come back.

We stayed in this well-kept apartment for 4 nights in May, 2011. It was the perfect, central location for us. We didn't need to use a tram or bus at any time. We walked to everything - to Andrassy Avenue (elite designer shops), the Indoor Market (an experience in itself), Vaci Utca - outdoor market and even walked across the bridges to the top of the Castle District on the Buda side. The views are spectacular! Make sure you have their currency to get into the museums. They do not take euros. We enjoyed eating at The For Sale Pub, across from the Indoor Market. You must try their goulash soup. Meal portions are huge. We enjoyed walking along the Danube River, watching the tourist and river cruise boats go by. Tomas was helpful and fantastic to deal with. He always was there, when needed, to answer questions, sights to see, places to eat, etc. The apartment is lovely and spacious - beautiful high ceilings. We loved having the washing machine, computer and especially the use of the phone for long distance calls (free). We kept in touch with elderly parents and our children back in Canada. We would definitely recommend this apartment. It is much more reasonable and larger than a hotel room. It is so close to everything. There's a convenience store just around the corner and many pubs and cafes nearby. We will definitely come back here. Koszonom Tomas for a wonderful stay and experience in Budapest. Linda and Matt

My husband and I stayed for 10 days at the Dreams and we didn't want to leave. Tomas was very helpful, and speak very good english. He answers all of my emails about reservations and some other silly questions ;) . He had someone picked us up at the airport and Tomas was waiting for us when we get to the apartment. The location couldn't be any better, near the central market hall and it's on the end of the pedestarian street, Vaci Utca. He gave us a map and recommendation on what to do and where to eat. The apartment itself is very spacious, clean with modern furnishing. The bed is heaven and the whole apartment has a homey feeling to it, warm and welcoming. The only thing that lacked is a regular oven but since we used the stove a lot and eat out at Raday Utca (Restaurant Row) regularly so it's really not a big deal for us. Do the budapest free walking tour that meets at Vorosmarty square at 10:30am, you'll be glad you do. They provide lots of information and you'll learn about all the tourist's trap in Budapest. Thank you Tomas for being a wonderful host. We will be back!

We stayed in the Golder Stars Dream apartment for a week in November and can't say enough good things about it. While we were discussing plans for accommodations in Budapest through email, Tomas, the owner, responded to questions quickly (he speaks excellent English) and was extremely informative and helpful. The shuttle picked us up at the airport as promised and dropped us off in front of the apartment. Tomas was waiting for us there and helped us with our luggage and showed us the apartment. The apartment is in an older building, but is completely renovated and modern. There is an elevator in the building, so the fact that the apartment is on the 4th floor is not an issue. The location of the apartment is perfect for easily accessing all of the tourist sites in Budapest, and is across the street from the Great Market Hall at Liberty Bridge. The apartment was extremely comfortable, and the little homey touches (plates, cups, silverware, etc) were greatly appreciated. When it was time to come home, Tomas arranged for a shuttle to pick us up to take us to the airport. We are recommending this apartment to other family members who are planning to visit, since it's probably the best tourist accommodation in Budapest. We can't wait to return.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this location. Tomas arranged for pickup and return to the train station with his driver. This was great because we found most subways didn't have escalators and we had several bags. Tomas also gives you a cell phone to use which makes communication with him very easy. There are food stores, banks, and restaurants within a block of the apartment. You can easily walk to all the major sites. The apartment is clean, well equipped, and in a safe area. We would certainly recommend this location to anyone.

My wife and I just got back from a 4 day trip to Budapest. The apartment was wonderful and had everything you would want on a stay away from home. Phone, TV, Internet, Kitchen, Washer, the apartment has everything and is very spacious for 2 people or a family. Tomas was wonderful and even arranged for parking of my car while we were in town at a modest price. The apartment is within walking distance to most any attraction in town. Why pay for a hotel when you can have the comfort and privacy of your own apartment for less?

We stayed at the Golden Stars Dream Apartment for a long weekend in September. Tomas, the owner has three apartments and this is a two bed apartment. We enjoyed our stay very much. The apartment was very central (two minutes from the Central Market), clean and nice and quiet. It is fully equipped with everything you need and was much cheaper than staying in a hotel. Tomas arranged a return shuttle to and from the airport which was a great help. The metro and tram station are only a few minutes away from the apartment but we managed to walk to most of the sites very easily. We had an early evening flight from Budapest back to London but we were able to leave our cases at the apartment until our shuttle came and met later that day which was very helpful. We would certainly stay here again. Thank you Tomas for all your help.

When setting up our reservation I called Tomas with a couple of questions. His first comment was “You need to understand that the price I quoted is all-inclusive. There are no ups, no extras”. We stayed at the apartment for a week and enjoyed every minute of it. The listing and photos were accurate and it was clean. Everything worked, especially the air conditioning and the elevator! Our only regret was that we did not rent it for a longer time. Our airport pick-up was flawless, and Tomas gave us not only a tour of the apartment on our arrival, but provided good advice on things to see and do in Budapest. There are several great restaurants and sidewalk cafés within easy walking distance, and you are truly in the heart of Budapest. The little grocery store across the street meets all of your incidental needs from snacks to a bottle of wine. The Central Café is one block away and provides good coffee, breakfasts, and pastries. Clean, quiet, safe and scenic sets the tone for the neighborhood. It was really nice to come back in the afternoon or at night and have someplace to relax and unwind. You would think we were on vacation!!! When it was time to leave Tomas had arranged a ride to the airport…on time and with a great driver. We enjoyed the Golden Stars and will definitely return. Thanks Tomas!

Tomas, the owner had someone meet us at the train station, and he was at the apartment to greet us and provide information. The apartment we stayed at was the one within walking distance to Parliament and the subway. It is only a couple blocks from the river and there is good walking there as well. This is a comfortable neighborhood, with access to restaraunts, ATM, Grocery Store, and the train stations for coming / going. I even got my hair cut (showing my passport picture for a go-by to the hairdresser). When our computer mouse "died" - we contacted Tomas who directed us to the MediaMart where we secured a new one. The local train stop is literally at the corner outside the apartment. It was easy to ride the local trains and subways to explore both sides of Budapest. Tomas even came by to make sure we were on time to catch the tram to Keleti station for our train to Vienna, as the local streets would be blocked when a marathon run. The apartment is comfortable and well equipped for two people. We would definitely recommend this apartment.

Overall we had a great stay here. The lady who met us and gave us the keys was extremely helpful, even helping us get transportation passes the first day. She explained everything and was more the willing to answer any and all questions. I cannot say enough about her, she is really great. The flalt is in a good location, near the tram station (2 min walk) where you can access all of Budapest. The only draw back was the shower, which did not drain very well. I am expecting that this will be fixed shortly as all other issues were taking care of immediately. I recommend this flat.

As a DE for Torremolinos and an owner of holiday flats (and hotelier for twenty years who got his hotel into the top consumer guide book in the UK) we passed a careful eye over this apartment. Other reviewers have detailed the location which could hardly be better. Booking went smoothly with prompt reply to queries and to the booking and payment for the holiday. You may need to set up paypal if you don't have it. We were met at the airport and taken straight to the apartments. Tomas met us and showed us to the flat in good useful detail. The building is interesting in its own right. The outside is a bit shabby - in a good way - and the entrance hall reminiscent of all those old spy movies. The lift is superb, ancient but smooth and very quiet. It worked except on one occasion which with the flat on the third floor was a bit of a struggle. The flat is quite a different matter. It has been well modernised and is entirely furnished by IKEA. It has one large room with a gossamer curtain down the middle to divide it into a sleeping and a sitting area. The furniture was very comfortable and there were little touches which showed care beyond the price charged. My only quibbles are the bed which is comfortable but set low and a bit of a struggle to get out of when you reach the age when leg and thigh muscles aren't enough on their own. The room curtains were too thin and couldn't be drawn properly From the front door there is a small hall with an OK sized kitchen on the right. It has a full hob and fridge and was perfect for two. It would be rather crowded for four. Next along is a small room with a sofabed and off this a full sized bathroom with shower and a washing machine. Drying was not so good. For two of us this meant that if one wanted to go to bed early the other could use this sofabed room for reading or work but if more than two were in the flat it would mean anyone going to the bathroom in the night would have to go through a sleeping area. The flat has free wi fi which was great for us as we kept in touch with our flat business here in Spain and managed to take a booking which we would have lost if we had relied on internet cafes. the internet speed was superb and I only wish it was as good here in Spain. I got very frustrated with my computer when I got home last night. There were VOIP options which we didn't use as I used Skype on my netbook. I would say this is an excellent flat for two but would be wary of more.

Walk to all the major sights; Vaci utca is just around the corner, not to mention all the restaurants and cafes are within easy reach. This apartment is perfect for a short stay in Budapest. The building is gorgeous and we loved the cage lift. The apartment is clean, comfortable, cosy and close to shops, the river, restaurants. It had everything you would need. It was very easy to correspond with Tomas before the visit and he arranged a shuttle for us to and from the station. He was away when we arrived but arranged for a friend to meet us and familiarise us with the neighbourhood. He then made sure he came in and met us before we left. All in all, a very hospitable and friendly host. I would have no qualms about recommending this apartment to others. Tomas' art work in the apartment is lovely.

Just came back from the trip to Budapest. We stayed at Golden Stars Royal Apartment from March 15th to 21st and we were very pleased. Due to the problem with the Air Portugal’s flight, we arrived the Budapest airport 33 hours late! Since the flight will be arriving at 11pm and we had never been to Budapest, I called Tomas (the owner) while I was waiting for the connecting flight at Frankfult to re-arrange the airport pickup. After we walked out the custom area, we found the driver holding a sign with my name on it. When we got there at the apartment around midnight, Tomas was standing outside the building waiting for us! He was very understanding and agreed to extend our stay for 1 more day. He also gave us a lot of valuable information and advice on things to do in Budapest. The location of the apartment is the best. It’s close to Metro station, supermarket, banks and the famous Vaci Utca. It’s also very close to the Great Market Hall where we went everyday to pick up fruits and pastries. (And the “For Sale Pub” is just across the street from the Market Hall.) The apartment was very comfortable and well equipped. It had everything you can think of: Coffee maker, kettle, washing machine, LCD TV, WIFI, Voip phone, mobile phone, …etc. The weather was quite cold in mid-March, but the apartment was very warm. I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone traveling to Budapest.

We had an amazing time in the Golden Stars Royal apartment during January 2009. Tomas is a perfect host and he made sure that we were comfortable at all times. He even went out of his way to accomodate our requests in the last minute. The apartment is in a very nice and safe location, close to anything you may need during your stay, and it is bigger than what it looks like in the pictures. The furniture has been carefully chosen , and the high ceilings give an incredible sense of space. This apartment is just ideal for a couple, but can accomodate more guests. It has plenty of sunlight, it's quiet and in a rather posh area. The heating was working fine, and there is air conditioning for warmer times during the year. There are supermarkets (and the great market) nearby, and transport is available right at the door, with frequent metro, trams and buses. You have to discuss the availability of the cell phone and internet in advance, so that the owner has the time to set it up. Summarizing, as long as the size is the one you need, look no further. Otherwise, Tomas has some other apartments that I am sure will delight you.

We stayed in Golden Stars Royal apartment at November 2008. Having Tomas as our host was wonderful! He was very helpful, provided maps, suggested best local restaurants, pubs etc. At our departure day he arranged us a shuttle back to the airport. The apartment itself was great, equipped with WIFI and phone. Very clean, very cozy with comfortable bed. The apartment was incredibly peaceful at night. There is a private balcony facing to the small semi-pedestrian street. The building is beautiful with full of history. The entrance gate is georgious! 5-6 years with my family using apartments, but this one was the BEST! The location just perfect. Being that close to the metro enabled us to quickly stop by 'home' and drop our stuff, take a rest and go on with our sightseeing. Very convenient. There is a mini market right next to the apartment, they sell fresh eggs, cheese, all the freshest dairy you can think of. There is also a bakery shop and vine shop and quite a few number of great cafes and restaurants within a 1 minute walk. All in all we had great time and definitely will come back! SW.

In our arrived at the bottom of the building, we were pleasantly surprised with the situation really near to Vaci Utca, to the city center and its animations, and tourists places, simply the perfect place. We were four and the apartment was really spacious, comfortable with beautifully decorated, and in more a balcony we recommend it to everybody. Tomas, our host reserved us a very good reception, he's a very nice person and always available. We keep a very good souvenir of him and the apartment, and Budapest is really an extraordinary city. We stayed in the Dream apartment in early October 2008. The apartment is in a great location - we particularly liked being close to the huge market, the undergrounds and the river. The apartment has been renovated to a high standard and has everything that you could possibly need for a short/medium stay. We didn't need to sue teh airconditioning, but I'm sure it would be handy in summer. Tomas was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. We hope to stay at this apartment again when we next visit Budapest.

In August, 2008 we have spent 10 days staying at the Golden Stars Dream apartment and I would have to say it was absolutely perfect. Our young family (my wife and two young daughters) loved it. The apartment is brilliant offering all the conveniences necessary to have a true "Budapest Experience". I must say that the air-conditioning was a god send to return to each day as the temperatures soared to 36 degrees (95+ F) during the week we stayed. There's a great little ice cream store down stairs and each evening we would go down and by supper/desert after our long days of sight-seeing. By the end of our stay they knew us by name and taste/flavour which the girls took great delight to. Tomas the apartment owner was great and was always there to help. I cannot recommend his highly enough. If you are starting to get sick of that same old hotel lobby, same old hotel suite, same old hotel 'internationalised food', same old hotel smell - then try an apartment (like Tomas' for a true local experience).

The apartment was exactly what we were looking for! Spacious, clean, fully equipped and easy to get to everywhere. We were met at the door, oriented and given ideas where to eat and what to see and made very welcome. We were a family (2 adults + 2 children). We had a wonderful time in Budapest and this will remain a highlight of our 8 weeks travelling in Europe! Thank you

We stayed at the Golden Stars Dream Apartment in Budapest August 11-14, 2008. I have to say it was one of my best travel experiences. The apartment was everthing it stated to be and more. My husband and I, my parents and my two young daughters all stayed there and felt comfortable and secure. The apartment was very clean, with all modern furniture and appliances. The kitchen was very well equipped and a necessity when travelling with young children. I can't say enough about Tomas, how friendly, helpful and accomodating he was. I would recommend this apartment to anyone fortunate enough to visit Budapest and stay in this wonderful apartment within walking distance to all that Budapest has to offer. I would not consider any other accomodation on my next trip to Budapest.

We are an Australian couple who traveled around Europe for 7 weeks, the Golden Stars Dream Apartment was one of the best apartments we stayed at. It was a very comfortable, spacious, spotless apartment with new furniture and comfortable bed, we really appreciated having our own washing machine and being able to cook our own meals. It was situated in the lovely street Vaci Utca, with a great market just a short walk from the apartment.. We could walk to a lot of the sights. Tomas was great answering any query and letting us stay in the apartment until our train left in the late afternoon, he arranged the taxi and helped us with our luggage. The wireless internet was great.

An elegant historic property, with balconies and high ceilings, immaculately maintained and full of character. The location is central, one block from the Vaci Utca and the promenade on the river, with other tourist sites in easy walking distance. Tomas was a gentleman, meeting us on our arrival, providing us with a cell phone to monitor our stay, and arranging a taxi for our departure, which he held while we finished packing. We could not have asked for more, given the quite reasonable price, and look forward to staying at the Golden Stars on our next visit to Budapest.

I attended a conference in Budapest and my husband accompanied me. Although I had several offers of hotels from the conference’s organizers, we decided to rent the Golden Star Royal Apartment on the Irànyi utca 21. We were extremely pleased with our choice. I read the previous reviews, and I can say that we experienced the same satisfaction with Tomas, who is a genuinely nice, elegant, and well-mannered person. He met us at the airport and drove us to the apartment, and at the end of our stay, arranged for the most reasonable taxi back to the airport. When we sent him a text message because we had a question, he responded within five minutes. The apartment is quite large and very comfortable. The apartment’s location is excellent. There is a CBA market and two 24/7 delicatessens across the street from the apartment. The apartment is one block from Váci Utca and about 5 minutes from a metro station. There are also several restaurants very close by.We spent 7 nights in Budapest and were at the end of our three weeks in Eastern Europe, so I was glad to use the clothes washer once for light clothing. The apartment has air conditioning which reduced the humidity we felt on a couple of afternoons. Tomas’ tips and advice were valuable and saved us money. For example, we used only cash (HUF) and exchanged money only at ATMs, which gave us the best rate for our dollars. Renting this apartment gave us the opportunity to experience the Hungarian culture like buying fresh vegetables, eggs, and cold cuts from the Central Market, a 15-minute walk from the apartment. For sightseeing tours by bus, we highly recommend Hop-On Hop-Off city tour with the red bus that included a one-hour cruise on the Danube.Thank you Tomas for being a wonderful human being and providing such excellent value.

Terrific place for my family of 4. We are 2 adts, 2 kids - ages 15 and 11, and stayed 8 nights. We didn't even have to use sofa beds, as there were 2 queen beds in the room. With this set up, one could easily sleep 6 by using the sofa beds. Perfect location, very clean, surprisingly quiet for being in a busy central area. Tomas was great - waited for both our flights arriving Budapest. Enjoy!

My husband and I stayed for 5 nights in the Royal apartment, on Iranyi Street. Previous reviews have praised this apartment and its owner, Tomas. We wholeheartedly agree, and rather than repeat the same comments, would like to add the following story. Tomas is friendly and helpful, ready and willing to help us with any travel questions we had. More importantly, he went beyond the call of duty for us, taking us to his family doctor when I became unwell. He stayed with us during that entire process - making the appointment for us, translating during the consultation, right through to helping us fill our prescription at a pharmacy. This process took several hours and would have been daunting for us as visitors in a foreign country. Having to then rest in bed for a couple of days, the apartment provided a generous, cheerful and comfortable space in which to be. A great apartment and a host dedicated to the well being of his guests! We cannot recommend this apartment highly enough & we will certainly stay here again on a future visit.

Myself and husband were very lucky to have stayed in this wonderful apartment. It was all it has been described. Very clean and spacious. Ideally located for sight seeing and just steps away from the central market(great if you wish to cater for yourself) The furnishings are all new and I must say the most comfortable beds I have experienced. we felt safe and secure during our stay and the neighbours are very quiet. Tomas the landlord was more than helpful and was always available if required for advise. I highly recommend this apartment for a relaxing stay in Budapest and would use it again without hesitation.
