Location: Park Bay, Bequia, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Caribbean (Just 10 minutes from town and ferry)

Accommodations:  Bequia Beachfront Villa, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3 Baths (Sleeps 10-12)

Park Bay House will delight you with spectacular views and the soothing chorus of waves breaking over the offshore reef. The villa is completely private without being isolated—surrounded by splendid beaches and pristine woodlands, yet only a ten-minute drive from town. And up to twelve people can sleep comfortably in the four-bedroom house, with plenty of indoor and outdoor space to accommodate large parties.

The villa offers some of the most breathtaking views on Bequia, punctuated by dramatic waves in the foreground and the neighboring Grenadine islands in the distance. Just feet from the ocean, the well-shaded porches make you feel like you’re floating over the beautiful sea, caressed by the trade winds...and at night the stars explode from the perfect darkness that surrounds you.

Pristine Nature Just Outside Your Door

Directly in front of the house is beautiful Park Bay, whose shallow water and protective reef make it ideal for wading and swimming. There’s even a sandy tide pool that’s perfect for young children. And when the kids are done splashing in the sea they can visit the Turtle Sanctuary at the far end of the bay, where sea turtles are raised for safe release, and goats, sheep, and chickens wander happily.

A few minutes’ walk down the coast takes you to palm-fringed Industry Bay, a long stretch of sandy beach and calm water, with the atmospheric Crescent Beach Inn offering food and drink. A few minutes more takes you to Spring Bay, another lovely stretch of sand and palm trees.

Surrounding Park Bay House are hundreds of acres of unspoiled woodland, traversed by paths leading to deserted coves and dramatic headlands. In fact the entire northern section of Bequia is completely undeveloped, and it lies right out your back door.

Under the crystal-clear water that surrounds the house, the coral reef offers more visual delights. Directly in front of the house you’ll find a variety of coral, fish, and other marine life, and you can drift with the current all the way to Industry Bay for a spectacular snorkeling experience.

Park Bay House offers all this pristine natural beauty without being isolated: it’s only a 10-minute drive into town on an easy, well-paved road. And after enjoying the many charms of Port Elizabeth and the rest of lovely Bequia, you can return to the serenity of your private house.

Inside the Spacious Villa

The two-story house is built in traditional West Indian style from beautiful tropical hardwood and native stone. With four bedrooms and three baths, the 2600-square-foot villa is perfect for both large and small groups. Eight beds and a sleeper sofa accommodate up to twelve people comfortably. Two living rooms, two expansive porches, and a large courtyard ensure plenty of privacy and space. And the solid, comfortable furniture throughout the house invites hours of casual relaxation.

Upstairs is a master bedroom with an antique four-poster king bed and a second bedroom with beautiful mahogany twin beds. Downstairs, the master bedroom has a romantic alcove with twin beds that can be joined to form a king-width bed, and a twin-size day bed in the sitting area. The peaceful downstairs second bedroom has a queen bed. For larger groups there’s a queen sleeper sofa in the upstairs living room and a day bed in the downstairs living room.

Stunning Views and Serene Beauty

All the rooms have fabulous views. The living rooms and master bedrooms offer spectacular views of the sea, with the neighboring islands of Mustique, Battowia, and Balliceaux on the horizon. The rear bedrooms look out at the lovely rising hills, accompanied by soft wind rustling through the trees.

Park Bay House is a truly unique property, giving you the best that Bequia has to offer...lovely beaches, unspoiled wilderness, and the constant cooling trade winds. It’s a great base for exploring the island, or just staying put and reveling in the sounds of the ocean and the caress of the sea breeze.

    • My wife and I rented the Park Bay House for two weeks in March 2009. The weather was perfect with only occasional brief showers from time to time. It has a fantastic location over a deserted beach. You can see the sea from most rooms and hear the surf. It is near the end of the road so very quiet but still only maybe ten minutes from town by car. You probably will need a rental car unless you can plan shopping trips very carefully and take taxis. It has a nice "cozy cottage" feel and is very tastefully decorated. The main living room, dining room, kitchen area is one large room with folding doors that open onto the porch so you feel almost like you are living outside. We were worried about mosquitoes because the house was so open but we only saw a few and they seemed half dead. There was a steady breeze flowing through the house day and night so that probably helped. Could be more of an issue in the rainy season. It is "off the grid" so is solar powered for electricity and hot water and that worked very well, surprisingly. The wireless Internet also worked well so I was able to keep in touch and do some work on my laptop computer. The housekeeper and handyman were great, as were the staff at Grenadine Island Villas who managed the house and answered our many questions about the island. There is a surprising variety of restaurants and small food stores for such a small island, probably because sailing yachts provision there. The harbor in town was always full of sailboats. Getting to Bequia is not easy - took us two days each way from the East Coast because of limited flights but once there, we had a fine time. All in all, it was a great vacation.

    • “Park Bay House is a perfect place for a getaway for a family or for 3 or 4 couples. It’s location, above a beach shared only with a turtle sanctuary (a wonderful place to visit) with no (not one) house in sight on the ruggedly beautiful windward side of Bequia is perfect—the views are out of this world. The house is comfortable, well-equipped, and the housekeeper, Rosie, and caretaker, Ray, are wonderful folks. Be sure to rent a car—Park Bay House is literally at the end of the road. One of our best vacations ever! --Philip & Karen Morrison, Washington, D.C., February 2009”

    • We stayed at Park Bay House for 2 weeks in June 2008 and thoroughly enjoyed it. The house is very comfortable and the setting spectacular. The constant trade winds and the sound of the waves make for great sleeping. We never saw a single mosquito. The solar electric system works unnoticed and the music selection is outstanding. You definitely need a car if you plan to go anywhere else but it's an easy drive to town. I would stay there again if I return to Bequia and would recommend it to anyone.

    • Our trip to Park Bay House on Bequia in January 2008 was relaxing and picturesque. The house was spacious and breezy, nicely secluded, with a wonderful view of the sunset each night. We enjoyed hiking around the property as well as fishing and swimming on the nearby beaches. More details about our Bequia trip and the house at ibnibnbattuta dot com. We'll be coming back to the Park Bay House for more relaxation the next chance we get! Thanks to Peter Jeffe and his friendly staff, especially Rosie!

    • We had an amazing vacation in Bequia made extra special by our stay at Park Bay House. It is a lovely home but we spent most of our time on the porch listening to the pounding surf and watching the birds...we hope to stay there again. It was a real treat!

    • Park Bay House was truly delightful. It was exactly what we were looking for in a vacation home. The views and accommodations were wonderful. The deck is perfect for reading a book after a day of diving. From the minute we arrived in Bequia, the staff made us feel right at home. They were so helpful and kind. We felt spoiled rotten! The house was already filled with food and the car and licenses were waiting for us when we got there. It was so nice not to have to take the time to do that during our vacation. Rosie was wonderful and having a home cooked welcome meal was such a special touch. I really cannot think of any improvements that I could suggest. You really have a treasure in Bequia. Please keep in touch if you are ever looking to sell. : ). Thanks again and I hope to be in touch again soon. Monique & John Loving

    • Park Bay house is trully Your HOME away from HOME,from the moment you walk into the house you get that homely feeling, it is a lovely country cottage with wodden interiors and beautiful antique furnishings, the house is well kept by the housekeeper Rosie who takes pride in keeping the house up to the owner's standard. Both Ray(who manages the House) and Rosie are very helpful and take care of all your needs without a doubt. The house has a fantastic view of the Ocean and is exactly as you see it on the web and described by the owner, there are no false impressions given, what you see on the web is what you get and even better. We quite enjoyed sitting on the lovely breezy porch and watching the waves, it is very relaxing and out of the busy areas like Friendship Bay, so if you want true relaxation and not too many people around you , out of Town but yet still close enough to the town then Park Bay house is for you. There is also quite a lovely selection of music on the computer that just helps you to unwind and relax, the kitchen is also very well equipped, we could not ask for more. The owner Peter is a lovely person very helpful and truly cares about his guests and makes every effort to accomodate his guests needs, no matter what it is. He is very passionate about his vacation home and would like his guest to enjoy it just as much as he does. while there we never felt alone or lonely even though the hosue is quite on its own as Peter describes it but you still feel connected to the town as from the house you can see the main road and can see who may be passing by.The Hosue is powered by Solar energy and works fantastic so don't let anyone tell you differently. We will definitely return to Park Bay House and would not stay anywhere else when we are in Bequia. I hope that when you visit you enjoy Park Bay House as much as we did.

    • Special property directly on the ocean.....as good as it looks!! Owners care deeply for their property as does the staff. We had a relaxing time on lovely Bequia. Do not miss a Sail, or if you are fortunate enough, a private charter aboard the Friendship Rose. A day trip to hike in the tropical forest in St. Vincent is also a must.

    • We stayed at the Park Bay House for several days in conjunction with a great sailing trip out of Bequia. Next time however, we'll likely skip the sailing and just hang at the house. It was so good! The ladies at the Grenadines property management office were very patient with all of my pre-trip questions and got us well oriented. The caretakers, Ray & Rosie, took great care of us while we were there. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet and peaceful place to hangout and chill. Great hiking, birding, snorkeling, fishing, and liming. It's a ways out of town so plan accordingly (food, bar, etc.) The views are incredible, the house is very comfortable, and the music collection is pretty special too. Don't pass up the chance to visit the Turtle sanctuary just up the road, another local delight.
