This was my husband and I's second time staying on this property. We can't get enough! We stayed here for our honeymoon, and returned to enjoy a trip before our baby was born. This location is hard to beat. In fact, after experiencing so many different parts of the island, this is by far the best location. Peaceful, quiet, calm, and serene. We fell in love with the outdoor shower. There is nothing more beautiful, than stepping out of the shower, into the warm Hawaiian air under a starry night OR a rainy sky. I found myself showering twice a night, just because I couldn't get enough. The owners have always kept great care, and are so accomodating to anything you need. We loved spending time just watching the cows graze in the back field, and I especially love how quiet this location is. All you hear are the sounds of palm trees swaying, and birds singing. I loved waking up in the middle of the night with the full moon cascading through the window on to our bed. The short walk down the dirt road to the beach is just TOO perfect! Almost EVERY time we went to that beach, we were the ONLY souls there! And the Napali coast is so close too! This place is truly magical. It will be sure to change anyone's life. Can't wait to be back for Round 3! Mahalo to the owners and their amazing location, service, and aloha!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Wonderful! Owners are very kind. The property is on the north shore with a beautiful view out the back window to the NaPali mountains with horses and cows. the Outdoor shower was the best part! It's a short walk to the beach. The grill is perfect for cooking. The place is small but perfect for a couple. Minutes from great north shore beaches.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

The Coconut Tree house was exactly what the owners said it would be. My daughter and I stayed for a week for her senior trip. It was an amazing week. It is small but an efficient use of space. Don't let the outdoor shower scare you, it was the best part! They have it set up where no one can see you, for real. A few things I would like to note for you folks who are regulars to VRBO. They provide TP, dish soap, hand soap and one roll of paper towels. Very Nice. The North shore of Kauai, is by far the best part of the Island. Everyone, and I do mean everyone was friendly, the other travelers, the locals everybody. We went on several excursions, ATV and Zip Lining where the favorites. All the restaurants in town where very good, we were not disappointed. Over all an incredible trip with many many good memories. We will be back.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

The “Coconut” is a charming double story studio located on the North shore of Kauai. The pictures on the internet site show you exactly what you get. Simple, understated, and very clean. The upstairs bedroom is airy and bright and has a big bed that is very comfortable, so comfortable in fact that you might just find it hard to get up and get going. One of my most memorable experiences was being waken up at night by light shinning in the bed room. Half awake, I slowly realized the light filtering through the windows was moon beams. I slightly lifted my self up to look out the window; a huge full moon was shinning mid sky illuminating the pasture and mountains. This was one of my “perfect moments” as the author Spalding Grey refers to in his crazy adventures. Of course not everyone will see a full moon; instead undoubtedly you will see a multitude of stars. A view that is unspoiled by the glare of city lights; street lights and traffic lights are absent from this area. My primary reason for staying at the “Coconut” is not to get a great bargain but rather to experience Kauai. When I go to the north shore I want to get away from it all, leave all my concerns at home, get back to the basics, and just be. I have found through my travels that traditional hotels tend to have a bland atmosphere which removes one from the outside environment. At the “Coconut” one is immersed into the island’s unique cadence. The jungle is very close and it has a sound to it. When the trade winds blow through it sometimes it has an unusual effect of sounding like a soft rain instead of a light breeze, this strange phenomena has tricked me more than once. Also one can hear “songs” from the jungle as there are a many native song birds residing there. If you turn off the television, your computer/i-phone and just be still, if only for a moment, you cannot help but be enchanted by this place.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

I loved your get-a-way here in Kaena, Kauai..."The Coconut Tree Studio" has all the conveniences of home and more. Waking and seeing the beautiful mountains out the window and sometimes horses and cows in the pasture. You have thought of everything from BBQ, beach chairs, laundry..and the out door shower (how fun)..and the quietness. Also loved being able to walk to the beach where you can take long beautiful walks along the water. I will go home wanting to plan my next trip back here ASAP.....Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
