Thank you Tom! We had a lovely stay. I was amazed at how well the kitchen was stocked with cookware. We did take a canoe ride and watched the full moon rise over the mountain and lake. God Bless you! Typed by owner from our Guest BookDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Dear Tom, Thank youf or sharing your homewith us. We enjoyed the pond and especially the Ashuelot River Headwaters hike. Saw lots of wildlife -- ruffled grouse, young doe, turtles, newts andlots of moose tracks! It was nice to be able to bring our dog, Pippin with us. This was my second stay at the Painted Bear. It was, again, as charming and down to earth as I had remembered. Noted for its tranquility, the locale is superb. I would recommend this for families, and hey how about a honeymoon? Tom is a congenial host and goes out of his way to ensure his guests are comfortable and happy. Overall, I will go back again whenever possible.Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Donna is the best! Her pups are happy at The Bear. She is a great tenant, leaves the place spotless. It is our hope people come in peace, enjoy peace, leave in peace. I hope Donna comes back often. She's a gem!
