We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The owner & neighbor/manager are fantastic! Loved being walking distance to restaurants, laundrymat, bakery & 99-cent store. Such a great neighborhood, located down the street from a park. Neighbors are all so friendly. quiet neighborhood & centrally located to the beach, city, etc. unit is wonderful w/ full kitchen, washer/dryer, yard to lounge in. dog friendly as well. I needed a temp. Rental while house hunting & it was perfect!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Park your car and walk everywhere- ample street parking. Adjacent Washington Blvd, Centinela and Venice Blvds have shops, restaurants & services you might need. Japanese Specialty Supermarket ( Mitsuwa), and Large Supermarkets are within minutes walking- Gelsons, Ralphs, Pavilions. 99¢ Store a block away. Culturally mixed, you can find any speciality restaurant or market somewhere close, esp Latin American influences. There are a number of Farmer's Markets through the week at various locations. The Friday Afternoon Market at Alla Glencoe park features free Yoga lessons, if you feel bendy. There is also a full childrens play area and tennis courts at this park. A park less than a block South of the home has basketball courts and tennis 1/2 court practice areas, grassy lawn and lots of space Full bus service is nearby and you can walk ( 40 minute stroll) or bus to the beach and Venice Boardwalk- beach parking can be a pain, so you have choices. This is near the Santa Monica, Culver City and Los Angeles bus services, so you can get anywhere you want. About 15 or 20 minutes from LAX Airport in zip code 90066 The full kitchen allows snacks or full meals as there is a full size gas range, microwave and full cooking utensils. Also coffee machine and full size refrigerator freezer. pots, pans, plates etc. The home is small, cheery and comfortable, cable television and wifi keep you in touch with the world- selection of rainy day games in the closet with the boogie board and washer/dryer Good quality bedding and towels. The air conditioning unit is small for the space, but the real key here is to open up the windows and sliding door and catch the fresh air from the ocean- coastal LA gets nice fresh air The front garden shines here, a graveled area make for easy clean up, with a low fence and screened by trees, you can feel private and but not feel confined. You can hear the city and neighborhood moving around you while you relax. Citrus trees hang over the fence. If you have bikes, room to park them. This is a pet-friendly rental and that made it for us- we and our dog enjoyed the house ( bamboo floors, easy to sweep) and the immediate area is nice for walks into the late night The Property Manager is onsite ( in the home behind), and is gracious, helpful and friendly- speaks English and Italian. The neighbors are also welcoming with children and dogs running around and playing after school- this is a real neighborhood, get out walking and see what it offersRecommended for: Tourists without a car, pet owners, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

An excellent choice for the money. At first I thought it was too far from the beach but once I rented a bike everything changed. None of the craziness from living ON the beach. Its Quiet! Easy parking out front. Close proximity to A-Frame and Waterloo and City (Two of the best restaurants in Venice/Marina Del Rey/Mar Vista. And a 6 minute ride to the beach, half of it on bike lanes. The space is bright and cheerful with a lovely PRIVATE garden. I left the sliding doors and windows open creating a breezy indoor outdoor environment when it was 102 in downtown LA. Didn't even need to use the AC. Super clean, friendly. A very usable kitchen. All in all I found it to be a great affordable alternative to overpriced hotels at the beach.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing.
