We were lucky enough to be able to hold our small wedding ceremony at 109 West last week. All of our guests were able to stay in the main house, and we had our ceremony in the courtyard and our dinner reception at the house also. I could not recommend the venue or its owners more highly - they were so helpful, providing contact info for local vendors who had provided services at the venue in the past, as well as suggestions on restaurants/activities that helped us ensure our guests saw the very best of Savannah while they were there. The house itself is spectacular - the attention to detail is top-notch, and everything you need in order to feel "at home" is on-site. The bedding and mattresses are far better than standard hotel-grade, and there are laundry facilities on-site, which was so convenient. The venue is ideal for family gatherings in that not only is there plenty of space, but the kitchen is fully equipped with cooking utensils/pots & pans as well as full services of china and glassware, eliminating the need to rent it from a caterer (it's very high-quality stuff!). Everything is within easy walking distance and there's ample parking on-site, and there's a parking garage down the block. Our only regret is not being able to stay longer! It was such a gift to start our married life at 109 West and a good feeling to know that we gave our guests such a memorable, unique, uniquely Southern experience!

We rented 109 West for a small destination wedding in Savannah. The property served as lodging for both our families and it was the perfect place for our ceremony and a seated dinner reception for 20 guests. The home is well located in Savannah’s historic district and within easy walking distance to Savannah’s sites and squares. The property itself is spacious, tastefully and elegantly decorated, and well-stocked with all the comforts of home and more. The property owner- Robbie and his mother Helen- were extremely responsive and helpful when it came to questions about the rental and suggestions for caterers etc. Highly recommend this rental for a small wedding, family reunion, group of friends etc.

We rented 109 West for our wedding party to stay at and we all absolutely loved it. Our guest kept asking us the entire weekend where we found this awesome place. Everyone was very happy with their accommodations- especially the comfortable beds and private bathrooms. Noise doesn't carry though the house easily so we weren't afraid of waking other guests if we wanted to stay up late or get up early and socialize in the common areas. My husband's parents stayed in the carriage house arriving days before we had rented the rest of the property and found it the perfect place to stay for exploring Savannah. They called us when they arrived and asked if they ever had to leave. We loved 109 West so much that we are worried if we give it the review it deserves, it won't be available next time we want to stay. But, selfishness aside, this place was grand!

Our daughter was married July 3, 2011 at 109 West Liberty. We could never have found a more perfect setting for the occasion. Our daughter surprised us with a quick wedding. We live in North GA and were making all the wedding arrangements long distance. We had 30 days to pull everything together. Helen and Robbie’s recommendations were invaluable. The help that Helen gave me made my job so much less stressful. We reserved the entire property for 3 nights of fun and togetherness to celebrate the upcoming nuptials. The 10 bedrooms housed most of our guests with overflow going to the nearby Hilton. The house is exquisite; everyone was delighted with their accommodations. The elevator made getting luggage to the second, third and fourth floors a breeze. The penthouse was the perfect location for a lingerie shower and for the girls to hang out together before heading out for a bachelorette party. I cannot stress enough how beautifully each room is decorated. The bride requested Crème Brulée French Toast for her wedding day breakfast. Three kitchens made this very easy. The ceremony was held in the courtyard with the guests on the balconies looking down on the wedding party. The bride and her father emerged from the carriage house preceded by her Junior Bridesmaid. The harpist was in a corner of the courtyard. At the appropriate time the soloist stepped onto the stairs to the carriage house and performed. The minister was positioned in front of the door leading into the garage and the posts on either side of him were decorated with floral sprays. The courtyard was the perfect place for a beautiful ceremony. At Helen’s suggestion, we held the reception at Vic’s On the River. The food and service were outstanding. Without Helen’s recommendation I would never have thought of Vic’s. Upon leaving Vic’s we returned to 109 West for wedding cake and dancing. We served 30 people on the china from the main kitchen. It made it so much easier for me to not have to pack and take china from home. All in all it was a perfect 3 day weekend. Most weddings last a few hours; we had 3 days of sharing love and laughter with family and friends. Our guests told us it was the best wedding they had ever attended. Our daughter told us it was the wedding of her dreams. If you are looking for the perfect place to hold a wedding in Savannah you will not be disappointed if you book 109 West. A few of my high school friends and I are planning on a girls get

I was in Savannah for my wedding and the entire wedding party (24 people total) rented the entire 109 West property. This property is an architectural treasure and all within walking distance to any downtown destination. There was not one amenity that I or any guest could thing of that was not already accommodated for. This facility made everyone feel right at home; nobody wanted to leave after our time was up. Also, Helen and Robbie (the property owners) were so informative and thorough on making sure our stay there was as relaxing and a joyful experience. Thank you both for your hospitality and we look forward to renting your home again.

A large family group gathers yearly to wine, dine, and enjoy each other's company. Never have we found a more perfect setting than 109 West. We were able to enjoy luxurious bedding at night and each person had their own privacy. For breakfast and dinner we made good use of a well-equipped kitchen to serve cocktails and meals on the beautiful china. How wonderful to have a place where we could visit and enjoy dining without reservations. Lunch took us out to one of Savannah's fantastic restaurants and touring of the many sites. We hated to leave, but we will certainly be back.

Thank you Helen and Robbie for our wonderful memories in this great house! I told everyone there had been a mistake---it is really MY house (I wish!) We knew from our first visit that it would be the perfect place for everyone to gather and relax. It is a beautifully restored 1871 home in Savannah's historic district and we enjoyed every minute we were there. From a little dinner on Wednesday, a bigger one on Thursday, the rehearsal dinner (low country boil) on Friday...to getting ready for the wedding and photos on Saturday, a brunch on Sunday...the house made everyone happy! All the beds and furnishings were all so comfortable and we loved having so many beautiful bedrooms to choose from, and each with its own bath. The porches, courtyard, balcony and lovely old staircase were all great places for photos of family and friends. We were pleased with how well all three kitchens were stocked..we had everything we needed to entertain. We also loved having the music system throughout the house. The DeSoto Hilton was a block away for the bridal luncheon; mani-pedis were just down the street, and wedding day hair/makeup just across the street. SoHoSouth restaurant and Mellow Mushroom a few steps away made finding lunch easy. We finally got around to walking the squares and visiting the Telfair on Monday after everyone left...having the house to ourselves was great too! We didn't want to leave, and we are already planning our next stay! We would recommend this house to anyone visiting Savannah.

I would highly reccomend this property. I stayed here recently with 18 of my friends for my 50th birthday celebration weekend. We all had a wonderful time. The house is even more beautiful than the pictures online show it to be. Each room is impeccably decorated with much attention to every detail. The rooms were clean and well-maintained. The living areas of the house were comfortable and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of dishes, pots and pans. The owner was extremely kind and helpful in the planning of my stay as well as the actual weekend and afterwards. The location is great. We easily walked to The Lady and Sons restaurant and City Market. It is just a couple of blocks from Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room and some really cute shops featured in Southern Living. It is possible to walk to the River Street Area but it is not necessary since there is a free shuttle that stops very close to the house! I would recommend this property for ladies' trips, a couples' trip or even a family reunion. It is worth it!

"October 16, 2010 – We came to celebrate our daughter’s wedding and enjoyed an absolute fabulous time. Many of the photographer’s bridal party shots were taken in this lovely home. The balconies, staircase and formal living area were just a beautiful touch to our daughter’s special day. We love the city of Savannah. One of the best decisions we made was to rent the entire property for our family stay. This beautiful home was the perfect fit for us to relax and entertain our family and other invited wedding guests. This home is amazing. It captures the historical atmosphere you want to experience, while spoiling you with all of the updated conveniences. The bedrooms are individually unique and the beds and linens are magnificent, all the comforts of home. Everything you need in the kitchen is at your fingertips. The elevator is an added bonus, not only carrying guests, but it helped a great deal bringing our entire luggage to our bedroom floor. The location is perfect, right in the middle of everything, and within walking distance of so many must see spots. The owner’s of this property are so easy to talk to, very accommodating and did everything to make our stay perfect. When we return to Savannah on a visit we plan on staying at this home in the garden level apartment or carriage house. We loved it and you will too. Perfect choice. Brian & Barbara Crisler"

We were looking for a place to have our daughters wedding party stay for her destination wedding in Savannah and found 109 West -- what a find! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property is impeccably decorated to the period. 3 on property kitchens for entertaining any size group, beautiful bedrooms -- each with their own bathrooms. Large living and dining rooms -- in short a wonderful venue for any group large or small and for rates that are more than competitive with area hotels. We couldn't have enjoyed our stay more.

The description of this home was spot on. The photos come alive when you walk through the front door. The property was celan and the staff was very helpful. I would recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a special place in Savannah. Some of our favorites were Gouchos for shopping, Six pence, Mellow mushroom, and so many great nearby restaurants and all within walking distance. The Savannah Theatre was showing Southern Nights .That was a fantastic show of dance and song of all muisc genres. It is also within walking distance. I can not remember the name of the restaurant nearby that has the best crab sandwich and lunch menu ever but all the locals can tell you the name and where it is. You need to make reservations. It is not pricey just packed for lunch . The trolly was great for anyone in your party who can not walk long distances or in the heat.

In October 2009, our group called the Brussels Bunch utilized the entire 109 West facilities. We had 10 couples in total. Every couple raved about the place as being perfect for our annual reunion which was our 17th. We meet each year at different locations within the U.S. This was by far the best, most comfortable and best accomodations at a reasonable rate that we've ever had. That's saying a lot since we've been from Main to Carmel, CA including Las Vegas, Washington D.C., etc. We highly recommended 109 West for large or small parties. Thanks, Robbie. Al Knezevich

I recently had a family gathering with a wedding at 109 West Liberty and this house made it an experience of a lifetime. ALL of the rooms are so beautiful that it was hard to pick which one everyone wanted. The pictures do not do it justice - you have to see it in person to fully understand the size and beauty of this home. It was perfect for my large family and allowed us to gather for a small intimate wedding ceremony. I would definitely recommend 109 West Liberty.

"109 West" was the perfect place for our large family to gather while attending our son's wedding. We were able to visit at breakfast each morning and then split up and enjoy the many wonderful historic spots, squares and eateries that surround the property. We hosted a catered rehersal dinner for fifty people on friday evening and the first floor, porch and patio accommodated us perfectly. Each bedroom and bath are beautifully appointed. It was a magical five days and we hope to return.

We enjoyed our stay at 109 West immensely! We stayed in the recently built carriage house adjacent to the recently renovated Italian style 19th century home. The carriage house is nicely built and decorated to compliment the main home which is absolutely beautiful. We were fortunate enough to get a tour of the main house by the friendly and accommodating owner. It's obvious that this restoration was a labor of love. The attention to historical detail while fully modernizing the home is amazing. All of the rooms are beautifully decorated and each bedroom has its own bath. 109 West is located in the central part of the historic district and parking is provided so we parked and easily walked the whole area. We could not get enough of this beautiful, historically rich city and plan to return during the cooler months. Please check out their website for some great pics of the property and various rental arrangements.

We have been home for one week and so wish we were back in your/our carriage house in Savannah. I can't tell you how pleased we were with our accommodations. The carriage house is lovely. It was just right. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom is beautiful with everything you could want - room to move, the large soaking tub, the double vanity and the spacious shower. The furnature was very comfortable. There isn't anything that we would have changed. We were very happy there! You have done a great job with your property It is fabulous! It is perfect inside and out, from the front entrance, the back porches, the courtyard and the entire main floor (such lovely furnishings). Thanks so much for making our stay in Savannah a lovely one. When the day comes that we return to Savannah, we will certainly want to and wish to stay at 109 West again. Thanks ever so much!

Our recent stay in Savannah (month of February) was very pleasant due in large part to the garden apartment conveniently located in the historic district. The apartment was very comfortable as well as tastefully decorated and furnished. Our Savannah experience was the most pleasant portion of our winter travels. We are hopeful that we can return again next year. Robbie and Helen were most gracious landlords and extremely helpful with warm hospitality. Their assistance in renting this apartment was the best. The entire house is most impressive.

We just completed a 3 night stay at 109 West. We used three rooms for one night and the entire property for the rest of the visit. It was the perfect place for our guest to enjoy their stay as well as conduct our daily business meetings. The attention to detail by the owner to assure your ultimate satisfaction is astounding. Every where you look you see quality, warmth, and charm while preserving the Historical significance of this charming place. All of the comforts and conveniences of home yet a truly unique and beautiful Inn. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the necessary cookware, stemware, and both china and daily use tableware. We simply took our own food and drinks and set up housekeeping. It was enjoyable to fix our own breakfast and lunch and the proximity to restaurants were convenient for the evening meals. All of our attendees were so favorably impressed, I would be afraid to even suggest another location for a meeting of this type for next year! This property exceeded our best expectations and receives a hearty "must try" for all.

As a prior ownner of an Inn for 10 years and as someone who has been to over 50 Bed and Breakfast's and Inns, I can speak with some sense of knowledge in acurately rating an establishment such as the 109 West Inn. First, this 1871 Inn has been completely renovated to once again show off its exceptionial beauty and grandeur. The attention to detail in the renovation has been impecible. The furnishings throughout are period and of excellent quality. It is very apparent that costs have not been comprised in every aspect of its decor and of all the ammentities this lovely home has. All applicance, counters, fixtures, baths, etc. are upgraded to make this establishment a 5 Star Inn. We held Thanksgivng and a Wedding Rehearsal Dinner here. I've received outstanding comments about how much everyone enjoyed their stay here. We are already discussing the option of making this a yearly family reunion venue. In all my 30 years of staying at Inns and Bed & Breakfasts, this honestly rates as number 1.You will LOVE this place. Have a Happy Stay!!!

I have never stayed at an inn, B&B, or hotel with more comfortable accomodations, or more attention to detail. Here are just a few of the things I loved about the house: period colors, fabrics, and patterns; Egyptian cotton sheets; deep soaking tubs with rain showerheads; elegant decor and inviting furniture; mood lighting; and location, location, location: immaculately maintained parks/squares, lovely shops & boutiques and fine & casual dining around every corner, and just a short walk from River Street. 109 West is truly a treasure...this is the place to stay to experience old Savannah!

My destination wedding on May 18, 2007 could not have been any more perfect. It was exactly how I'd always dreamed it would be - small & personal in a beautiful location. 109 West was that beautiful location. It is situated in historic downtown Savannah within walking distance to Bay & River Street (food & entertainment). The property itself perfecty captures the old southern charm of the city. Robbie did a magnificent job in remodeling and decorating the property in the luxurious colonial style incorporating items from the original property throughout the house (original doors as a bed's head board). For our wedding, we rented the entire property (main house, garden apartment and carriage house) so that all our guests could be in one place. We had the wedding ceremony on the first balcony of the main house while the guests were seated or standing in the courtyard below us. We then walked to one of the many nearby squares that Savannah is famous for to take some (more) wedding photos. The owner was so helpful during our wedding planning offering suggestions and not minding when we made last minute changes (somebody is arriving early!!). All this and it was extremely affordable. The prices on the different units are comparable to most other hotel chains, however, if you rent the entire property (as we did) you get a very nice discount. We'll definitely be back to 109 West.

We rented 109 West Liberty for a long weekend with several Girl Scouts and their mothers. What a truly memorable experience! It was so much better than being in separate hotel rooms! We rented the entire home, which is 9BR and 9.5BA. The decor is fabulous, and the home is newly renovated with the greatest attention to details. Every room was truly stunning! The kitchens were well equipped, the bedding was very comfortable, and the baths had everything we needed. Even though the home was built in 1871, we had every modern convenience - an elevator, WiFi, sound system, several TV's, etc. We were an easy walk to Juliette Gordon Low's Birthplace, the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, and several shops and restaurants. We parked our cars when we arrived and never had to drive anywhere.

This is one of the most beautiful homes I've ever stayed in. The quality of the renovation work and the attention to detail is amazing. Although the decor is gorgeous, it is very comfortable and not stuff or overdone. You'll just wish you lived here all the time! The location is perfect for walking downtown, to restaurants or just exploring. The kitchen is well-equipped if you decide to stay in. You'll love staying here!

We flew the whole family from around the US to Savannah for a southern style Christmas and rented 109 West. We were completely delighted to discover the house far exceeded our greatest hopes. Imagine 9 adults walking into a house and turning around and around, mouths agape in awe. The house is exceptionally tastefully and wonderfully appointed. The livingroom had festive Xmas decorations. We are foodies and yet the kitchen was fabulously equipped for cooking, eating, far better than we'd have dared asked for. The diningroom has a stunning, elegant chandelier, beautiful table, chairs -- it made our Xmas dinner unforgettable! Our four couples all loved our bedrooms - each one with king size beds, each a little different but all so beautiful it was difficult to choose which one we liked better. The other surprising positive element was the owner himself. Robbie is impressive for his very professionalism: he is accessible, helpful, cares about all details, he follows up to questions. We will almost certainly revisit Savannah for another Xmas and there will be no other choice for us to stay than 109 West. We've rented houses all over the world, from Paris to La Jolla and this is a 9.5 out of 10. You must try it!!

We stayed in the Broughton Street House with another family. It truly made our first trip to Savannah more special. All the touches that are put into the homes make them comfortable and elegant. We stayed a few days after Christmas and the place was decorated and we were thrilled! It was also convenient to just about everything too. My husband, daughter and I had the upstairs apt. while the other family of 5 had the main house which makes it great for families that like to vacation together but don't want to be stuck and a hotel room. Next time we can get more family or friends and rent the "109 West" house.....which is also gorgeous! Thanks for the beautiful homes you share with all of us!

Dear Robbie, Last week our family of l5 enjoyed our l6th annual pre Christmas get together. Each year we lease a house in a different location, within a resonable driving distance of our homes in N.C., Georgia and Florida and spend three nights together. This year I was fortunate enough to find l09 W. Liberty online and as a result this was our best Christmas ever! The house is fantastic, beautifully furnished and appointed, well equipped, extremely comfortable, perfectly located..who could ask for anything more? Thank you for allowing us to share it with you. We will definitely be back! Bobbe Miller

Our extended family meets somewhere different every year for Christmas. The ONLY problem we had staying in this beautiful house, was that we will NEVER be able to surpass it next year!

I couldn't have been more pleased with our stay at 109 West. The home was immaculate and perfectly sized for our large family! The décor was breathtaking, highlighted by the luxurious beds, multiple flat screen TVs and jacuzzi baths. Additionally, it is ideally located in Historic Savannah. I look forward to staying here again when we return to Savannah.
