Location: Canyon Lake, Hill Country, Texas, USA (Boat Ramp 1 mile form the house on Glenn Dr.) View Map
Accommodations: House, 2 Bedrooms + Den, 2 Baths (Sleeps 8)
Keywords: Waterfront, Texas Lake House
Enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Canyon Lake, a natural base for day trips, not only to San Antonio and Austin, but also those towns known for specialty shopping such as Boerne, Wimberly, Fredricksburg, Blanco, Johnson City, and don't forget the huge outlet mall located in San Marcos. The morning air is crisp and Canyon Lake is a beautiful place to spend a weekend or a week--the longer the better! Of course, there is still time to enjoy water activities since the days tend to warm into the 80's in the afternoon! The clear, clean water is so refreshing and beautiful to see and enjoy. The Lake appears tropical on a sunny day as the sunshine reflects a beautiful blue-green sheen from the Lake.
Our home is a perfect spot to enjoy the spectacular view with many great vantage points to watch the boating and Lake activity! Additionally, since the water's edge is a short walk, you can still enjoy simple fun things such as skipping rocks across the Lake and putting a fishing line in the water to see what you might catch. An early morning kayak or canoe trip across the Lake is also very soothing and relaxing. These are a few of the activities available just a short walk down to the Lake from the house. Of course, don't forget one of the most enjoyable activities while staying at our home--the beautiful deer that congregate at the front door morning, noon and evening in hopes of being fed. Some are little "bambi's" while others have beautiful "racks" on their handsome, proud heads (there were two 8-pointers at our front door recently). And, of course, there are the doe's that will eat corn from your hand. Watching the deer lounge around and interact as they feed is very pleasurable and relaxing. The patio located on the lower level is a great place to sit, watch the Lake and read a book. Later on, enjoy the hot-tub. A great vantage point to watch the beautiful sunset over Canyon Lake or later in the evening, the moon rise above you--or a star-lit night with a shooting star or two--or three!
You may also want to enjoy a campfire in the evening. There is plenty of room down by the Lake to light a fire in the fire pit and enjoy each other's company while roasting marshmallows and exchanging stories round the fire with the gentle sound of waves from the lake in the background! These are just a few of the amenities available to you during your stay.
If boating is one of the pleasures you hope to enjoy while a guest in our home, the boat launch is very convenient to the house, only one mile (walking distance!).
Numerous restaurants are within 15 minutes where "Hill Country" cuisine can be enjoyed. Additionally, many evening attractions can be found in Gruene (including Gruene Hall), many offer nightly live performances, including Jerry Jeff Walker.
The house has ceiling fans in all rooms. The bedrooms are furnished with a king bed in one & a queen bed in the second bedroom. Two comfortable futons are in the living area with additional bedding available in the form of an air mattress providing sleeping accommodations for eight. Each bedroom has a full bath. A stackable washer/dryer is on site for your convenience. Ample linens & bedding are furnished. In addition to the items noted below, the fully-equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare your own meals if you prefer to dine at "home." The dining area comfortably seats eight or ten cozily. Any overflow can enjoy sitting at the large picnic table (also seating for eight) under the ceiling fans on the adjoining covered porch. Or if the weather is cool in the evening, you might enjoy a cozy fire in the fireplace located in the living area.
Additionally, don't forget to enjoy all of the attractions of the "Hill Country"--Natural Bridge Caverns, Wildlife Preserve, biking, hiking, or just drive through the hills and enjoy the beautiful views.

If you are looking for a place for you and your family, look no more. This home was absolutely beautiful, the scenery was perfect and the deer were plentiful. The home had everything we needed. We enjoyed the beautiful sunsets and sunrises all from the comfort of the hot tub. I will be back to this property for many years to come. THANK YOU!!!

We could not have asked for a more perfect family vacation. We swam in the lake, got in the hot tub (a little), played UNO, chicken foot (a domino game) and the boys and dad played MOON (another domino game), fed the deer and of course just relaxed. The only thing we would do differently next time is we would purchase the food from our home town because the grocery stores are not cheap. The view and sunsets were AWESOME and we would come back. The owners of this house are SUPER nice!

Thank you for sharing your piece of heaven on earth with us. Sunsets were beautiful and enjoyed feeding the deer. One of the mom deers found a great hiding place for her new born fawn at the bottom of stairs to the lake. The amenities of the cabin were superb. We had a great time!

We had a great time staying at this property. The sunsets were amazing and we took pictures to prove it! The house had every amenity possible so we lacked for nothing during our stay. Not only did we enjoy the lake but we also enjoyed driving around the Texas hill country area and visiting the many small towns nearby. We're glad we discovered this awesome vacation place!

This lake house was amazingly clean and very welcoming. My family and freinds felt like it was a second home even. We enjoyed going to a concert in New Brunfels as well as going to Shliterbahn and the San Marcos Outlet Shops all with in 20-30 min. We enjoyed cooking burgers and hot dogs on the grill while getting a small camp fire going by the lake for some shmores(hope I spelled that right). We plan on going back at least once a year we absolutly loved this place. By the way it was the first time a deer had ever eatin from my hand .

Took my three 20-something kids, my nephew and his wife for the weekend getaway. The home was very clean with everything you need. Great views, we especially liked having music piped outside, as we spent a lot of time on the decks. We floated the river nearby and almost used a whole bag of corn feeding the deer. We had a great time and will definitely return.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 day stay at this lake house! The house is very clean, open and inviting. The house stands atop one of the hills over looking the lake. My family enjoyed the sun set views and feeding the almost tame deer that would meet us at the back door every morning and evening. We enjoyed steaks on the grill, dinner on the patio, and soaking in the hot tub. There are stores in close proximity to the house as well as Comal Park for the kids to enjoy swimming. The lake water was low by the house so we spent much of our time tubing on the Guadalupe and swimming in the Comal near Gruene. The only place to rent a boat/jet ski is on the North side of the lake, so be prepared to travel a few miles to rent.It was a Great getaway for the family and we will be sure to go back many times in the future.ThanksThe Carr’s
