What a fantastic vacation experience! This is an absolutely beautiful, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable town home -- complete with all the ammenities! Combine this comfort and convenience with the added service of having a "concierge" who adviced us o the best places locally to shop, dine, sightsee, play, golf, etc was a truly a wonderful way to enjoy the Big Island. As golfers, the priviledge of being able to play the World-class Mauna Lani courses for a fraction of the public fee was well worth the rental cost of this Townhome alone. Paul, the owner of this property and expert "concierge" is a local who obviously knows the Island very well and was able to help us put together a very memorable vacation...including helping us arrange for a unique visit to the Kiluela volcano and bicycle tour from the Rim of the Volcano down the Trail of Craters road. -- the perfect and fun way to safely experience this active Volcano! This location at Mauna Lani is perfect for seeing everything the Big Island has to offer, and is still far enough away from the maddening crowds and infamous eye-burning "vog" of Kona. The Kohala Coast is absolutely beautiful and has the best Sunsets. The private owners beach was a total delight and is a MUST DO. We loved being able to have cocktails served to us on the beach and have all the beach toys and services available to us...sail boards. surf boards, floats, lounges etc. Being able to come back to a comfortable home after a full day a Fun, and grill our fresh Fish or locally raised Parker Ranch steaks on the beautiful, gourmet Viking Gas Grill on the patio was an unexpected pleasure. This was the BEST Hawaiian vacation we ever had...and we've been to the Hawaiian Islands dozens of times before. This is waaaay better than staying in any Resort Hotel. We will definitely be returning to this location again and again. Mauna Lani is no ka 'oi! Mahalo! Jim and Carol H.
Owner response:Aloha Jim & Carol: Thank you for the kind words. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We do our very best to make sure all of our gusts have a wonderful time. Living near the town home on a full time basis makes this possible. We know it is a lot of effort and cost to come to Hawaii and we want all of our guests to have the best time possible. Paul & Cher

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the island. I was pleasantly suprised to see how beautiful the condo was inside and out. It is the perfect location. Close to everywhere I wanted the go. The private beach was outstanding. Also, having the shopping center located so closely was very convienent. It was perfect for a quick cup of coffee or full on grocery shopping. There are also some great restaurants there. Paul is a great host. He was very gracious in helping me find great restaurants, golf, sight seeing, and even joined me for golf one day. I found him to be great host and guide for the island. I would definitely reccommend this place to my friends and family.
Owner response:I really enjoyed golf with you. You may have had a better score if you did not use my clubs. At least you saved the golf rental fee. Paul

My husband and I recently spent a month in Paul and Cher's lovely townhome. We found it well maintained, clean, comfortable and conviently located. A great home base for exploring this beautiful Island. The description and photos of this property were more than accurate and definitely reflect this rentals appearance and ammenities. Paul was easy to work with, all his recommendations for restaurants, places to visit and sights to see where spot on. We used the pool and hot tub at least twice a day, especially enjoyed a dip in the evenings while star gazing. We visited the Beach Club beach and facilities often and found the cabanas and beach lounge chairs very comfortable. The snorkeling was amazing. The restaurant there served tasty lunch options and the service was friendly and efficient. Would not hesitate to recommend this property and we will definitly by returning. We arrived at the townhouse early on a friday afternoon and found everything ready for our vacation. It was beautifully decorated, well equiped and very comfortable, There were four of us, with only one car (which was plently). The townhome was nicely located so that we coud walk to anything we needed or wanted. The owner's beach was a wonderful place to hang out for the day. Also, the townhome had all of the beach toys that anyone could need. Paul and Cher were great and very helpful. They helped us to plan the best places to see on the island. We are planning on returning with friends in the next six months and are definintely planning on staying here again. It is perfect for couples or families with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, full kitchen and laundry facilities.
Owner response:Mahalos !! I was able to take John on a few golf outings at discounted prices. We do our best to make sure our guests have a wonderful Hawaii vacation.

Upon retirement, my wife and I decided to try out our dream of living on the Big Island, since we have visited there previously for a week or two at at time. We found this condo as a basis for living on the Island for at least a 6 month try. The owner, who has two vacation rentals in the Mauna Lani Fairways, agreed to a 6 month lease, and over we came. The condo is as advertised, a very nice two bedroom/ two bath/ two level unit with all the aminities as listed. The upstairs master bed and bathroom are the show-point of the condo, with a separate shower and whirlpool tub. One lanai is directly off the bedroom, and is pleasant for early morning reading and coffee. The lanai off the main level dining area is a wrap around with the outdoor built-in Viking grill, sink, and counter - a daily use item. The kitchen is very nicely furnished with utensils and cooking needs. The pool and work-out room are just a few steps out the back door. As for location, the Fairways are a great place to headquarter, with Kailua-Kona about twenty miles south, and Wiamea about twenty miles north and east. Locally Mauna Lani has a grocery store, a steak house, and other beautiful shops. Golf is indescribable, with at least 10 courses within 10 miles. The beaches are also wonderful, with the gated Mauna Lani resort beach our favorite. The owner is always available if needed, since he actually lives on the island. (However we really never needed anything, since all is so well maintained,) We can only state that the condo where we have spent our last 6 months is great for both short term (a week) or long term (6 months) stays on the Big Island. Because of our experience, we are plan to make Hawaii our permanent residence soon. Give the owner a call. He does not use a management company, and thus saves the renter that extra cost.
Owner response:Ron & Gail were wonderfule guests. We played golf several times and I was able to get them 70% discounts since they played with me as an owner at The Mauna Lani

What a wonderful stay we had in August. I had been so busy with a new job and let a review slip away from me, but I wanted to share our experience so others can benefit from a wonderful place! We arrived late and had a easy drive from Kona airport. The location is great to head South or North. We stayed at Paul's townhome for a week and it was great! Food, restaurants and shopping were close by, the home itself was clean, nicely decorated and quiet in the evenings. We also enjoyed the complex pool on several occassions. A big thanks to the pool supplies, such as balls, floats and other fun items we took to the beach/pool with us! We also enjoyed having a garage! The appliances were top of the line and well taken after! One evening we ate on the patio and grilled chicken/veggies on the very nice grill outside! What a treat! Thanks for allowing us to stay there! We thought it was perfect for us!
Owner response:Mahalos !! My wife and I manage and maintain the property and always keep it clean, up to date, and well maintained. We live nearby on a full time basis and this helps us and our guests.

Paul's townhome is great. It's clean, well appointed and Paul's wonderful to work with. I've stayed at the Fairways several times and it's a great location with great amenities. The Beach Club, the quiet Fairways pool and a great selection of restaurants between Waikoloa and Mauna Lani. You'll feel the stress of life slip away within hours of the plane touching down.

Paul's Mauna Lani condo is everthing claimed and more. This unit is spacious, tastefully decorated and well appointed. Sometimes we have rented vacation units that are noisy, crowded, lacking things like a good barbeque or a coffee grinder, or were not quite clean enough. This is utterly not the case here. In addition to Paul's hospitality, we found the community at the complex to be friendly and accomodating. No wierd looks at the (uncrowded, 78 degree) pool or exercise room. And, the staff are equally friendly. If you are looking for the ideal Mauna Lani condo, this place should be at the top of your short list.
Owner response:Mahalos Jack for your kind review. I have been on Island since 1981 and live here full time. I am able to act as a free consigere for all of my guests. Where to go, what to do, how to get there, best prices, etc. I can also get my renters big discounts on golf.

Unlike other listings, Paul manages the property himself which saves you allot of money. This place is set in a secluded gated community which means you don't have to deal with rowdy drunk people at 2 am unlike what we experienced before in Kona. The housing area is kid friendly and my girls age 10, 5, 3, made new friends every day. You are 2 minutes away from a private owners only beach, shopping, and upscale dining. The property is centrally located so Kailua-Kona is only 20 minutes away to the south and to the north you have even more inexpensive dining and shopping opportunities. The property is well maintained and Paul has thought of everything to make this place feel like home. He even provided a crib, stroller, and beach toys for the kids. The only thing we had to buy was food and Costco is just down the road. I just can't say enough about this place and our family intends on using this property again next year. If you were to stay at any of the resorts in the area you would pay double if not triple the price. We have vacationed on every island Hawaii and stayed in various condos and hotels, but this place tops them all. My only regret is that we did not stay here before or stay longer. Paul you always have my business, thank you for a memorable vacation.

It's been a little more than a week since we returned from our wonderful 10-night stay at the Mauna Lani Resort in this immaculate townhome. The photos reflected the appearance and amenities very well. The master bedroom was spacious and the master bath was perfect for us. We loved the king sized bed and slept well every night because it was so comfortable. Because the kitchen was so great, we ate-in five out of the 10 nights we were on the Big Island. Foodland market is a nice, easy walk. While a little expensive, the bakery, deli and meats were great. The living room was so comfortable...we thoroughly enjoyed our quiet mornings with our books and coffee lounging on the comfortable couches. The Beach Club was awesome, as was the pool. We used both each and every day. We would highly recommend pu-pu's at sunset at the Luana Lounge at the Fairmont. We also ate dinner at Brown's Beach House at the Fairmont. Both were wonderful. However, the best dinner by far was at Cafe Pesto. It was reasonably priced and the food was very, very good...we thorougly enjoyed it. If you are a wine lover don't miss going to the Kona Wine Market. Their selection is outstanding and the prices are more than reasonable. The only catch in our plans was the accessibility to affordable golf. As golfers we were looking forward to playing at least four times due to the advertised golf discount. Unfortunately, you MUST play with an owner to receive the discount and during our stay that was not possible. All in all, we would definitely book this townhome again.

I just wanted to extend a heart felt thank you for allowing us the use of your wonderful property. We felt at home within just a few minutes of arriving and unpacking. Everything that your property had to offer was exactly the type of location we were looking for.We loved the private beach. We had a blast swimming with the turtles and sting rays. It truly is a gem. The property is spotless and the kitchen with it's modern appliances contains everything one needs to put on a pretty good spread. The BBQ and lanai were used pretty much every evening for dinner, reading and drinks. Location is fantastic. Just twenty minutes away from the airport and perfectly situated for scenic road trips to anywhere on the island. Must try: Sensie Sushi Restaurant At Queens Mall and the Thai food restaurant. Thank you Paul and look forward to coming back to your property soon. Mahalo!

We just spent two weeks at Mauna Lani Resorts this past Christmas. The condo was first class and worth every penny! The resort is beautiful and secure with a great pool area and two world class golf courses. We snorkeled with turtles and rays and body surfed at the nearby beaches. It was just the kind of holiday we were hoping for. Paul, the owner, was very helpful offering us all kinds of suggestions from where to dine, what to see, which beaches to hit and where to shop. Golfing on Christmas eve with Paul at the owner's rate was a bargain! We would highly recommend renting this condo and hope we can return soon. Thanks again.

We stayed here for a week in May, 2009. We really enjoyed our stay here. This property is wonderful and must be among the best in the area. The Villa is nicely decorated and contains everything you need. Beautiful surroundings with a lovely pool area, walking distance to Fairmont Orchids hotel, shops and to the lovely private beach with its excellent swimming and snorkeling conditions. We will highly recommend this villa to family and friends and we hope to be back soon.

Mahalo Paul for offering such a wonderful & convenient place & for being so helpful. We had such an easy time, bringing only carry-on luggage since your condo has a washer/dryer & is just 5 minutes away from groceries & shopping areas + only about 30 minutes to either Waimea or Kona. We ended up using snorkel gear from Snorkel Bob's to get prescription goggles but appreciated using your other beach gear as we beach-hopped. It was nice that your condo was on a quiet gated loop to enjoy a freshly ground cup of Heavenly Hawaiian Kona coffee on the patio in the morning or a nice, grilled dinner after a busy day. Thanks for paying attention to details like hangers, blow dryer, coffee mill, wifi access, easy drive-in garage next to the back door, etc. We Really enjoyed having Sooo much so close and yet still being able to get away for some privacy! The pool was close and very nice, but we spent most of our time visiting different beaches and doing all things Hawaiian-such as nearby lava rock trails, Akaka Falls, Kilauea, Hilo, coffee tour at Heavenly Hawaiian, souvenir shopping at ABC & Kimura Lauhala Shop, Kona & Waimea repeatedly, Fair-Wind snorkel cruise, breathtaking Waipi'o & Pololu Lookouts, etc. before heading back to the condo each day to comfortable beds. It's really an easy drive around the Big Island, so we did as much as we could in our 10 days before heading to Pearl Harbor and then home. ...and Thanks again for mailing the hat! :0) We had a great time and look forward to coming back soon!!!

My family and I have been visiting Hawaii annually for eight years now. We have stayed at many different hotels on the big island. Last year, we tried out a friends apartment in "town". It was pretty cramped and my husband and I could not fit in the full sized bed. This year, after some research and a lot of luck, we were pleasantly surprised with the villa at Mauna Lani. We had so much room. The kids had their own bed and bath room (YEAH!!). We were able to eat healthy, less expensive meals. The setting was quiet and peaceful with no one running and screaming through hotel hallways. The villa is well maintained both inside and out. The villa has everything that you need to feel at home. The pool area is relaxing with a great jacuzzi. The private beach is absolutely spectacular! What a family friendly place. Paul was great to work with. All in all, we had a wonderful stay. I am already looking at our 2010 calendar for a hopeful repeat.

My family and I have been coming to the Islands for almost two decades, with this being our fourth to the Big Island’s Mauna Lani Resort area—and our second vacation in this particular Villa. Without the slightest hesitation, we highly recommend this Villa, with much of our kudos based on the genuine hospitality of owners, Paul and Cher. Their Villa is literally a home in paradise with upscale white sand beaches, turquoise waters, snorkeling, and island sea life. For gourmet and West Coast healthier “slow food” cooking, the kitchen is equipped, the Viking Grill is just a step away on the lanai, and local vegetables, fresh island fruits and fish are all within reach. If you’re searching for a vacation getaway with an upscale home-like persona, and the freedom to truly experience what the Kohala Coast has to offer, then look no further. This is the best of the best.Mahalo!

Property #93535 was delightful! Walking distance to the best beach(s) on the Koala Coast. It is paradise sitting & reading in our cabana, then looking up and watching the whales breaching and slapping their tails. As we walk along the shore, we see turtles snuggling up on the beach to sun. Then, of course, along the way, there are the many fish ponds to ponder. The townhouse was great, clean and well maintained. The beds very comfy and of course I enjoyed the gourmet kitchen with huge fridge and dishwasher. Paul, thank you for all you did to keep us comfortable. If we can, we will be back again.

The island offered much to explore and enjoy and the experience was made even more perfect by having a very comfortable place as our home away from home. Paul is a gracious island host, eager that our vacation was the experience we wanted. We will return to once again relax in the comforts of Mauna Lani Fairways. We did not miss being on the ocean - after all it was only a short walk away! The complex, its amenities and the reasonable cost made this a very good holiday choice. Thanks Paul!

We rented the villa for 11 nights in September 2008. This was our 3rd visit to the Island and the first time at the Mauna Lani Resort. Previously, we had stayed at the Waikoloa Beach Resort which we enjoyed, but the Manua Lani for us was a better choice. It is really beautiful and very quiet which we liked. The Villa itself is so nice and comfortable with all the necessities of home. We spent most of our time either at the pool or the private beach club. Hapuna Beach is a short drive from the Villa and one of the most spectacular beaches we have ever seen. We would recommend the Fairway Villas to anybody looking for a beautiful setting and a peaceful & relaxing vacation.

We stayed in this beautifully appointed, very clean and well kept unit when we first began our lengthy stay on the Big Island. We moved to other accommodations after 10 nights, what a mistake. The owner, who by the way is a very decent and funny person, worked with us to provide one of his luxurious units in the Mauna Lani Fairways for about another month. His units offer the best way to really enjoy your time on the island while not breaking your budget. All the comforts of home you could possibly ask for. The pool here could be the best in this area, very clean, well maintained with a quiet relaxing tropical atmosphere. The shops that are located within the resort are upscale while still not being overly expensive and the restaurants offer fine dining. My wife and I will never stay anywhere else on this island, even if we need to work our vacation schedule around the availability of his units. Don't make the same mistake we made, stay here and you will have the vacation of your life! Mark & Tracy Gremillion Gremillion Industries

Our family had a wonderful experience staying at the Villa. It is very clean, beautifully decorated and has all the comforts of your own home. From the moment you walk in you feel as though you have found your home away from home. Traveling with our two young children ( 9and 6) that is a definite plus. We have been to the Island many times and the Mauna Lani resort is the best spot in the island to be. All the beaches in the area are worth while visiting and staying in the Villa allowed us access to the beach club as well. Our first stop in the island was Costco and only 1/2 a mile from the Villa you have a grocery store. Very convenient! We spent our days out enjoying the beaches and came home to a beautiful place were we could end the day with and outdoor meal and a cocktail while watching the sunset. The kids slept downstairs and we had our privacy upstairs. We could do a load of laundry to have fresh towels and bathing suits for another adventure the next day. What else could you ask for?

We traveled to the Big Island with teenagers and another family. We rented both villas-- very convenient as they are both close to one another. Our accommodations were perfect for our active family. The Mauna Lani has a wonderful beach-- great for swimming, snorkeling and relaxing. The pool was just outside our patio door-- a definite plus. The teenagers enjoyed walking up to the small shopping center for a coffee and dessert. The villa was ideal-- very comfortable and complete. It is centrally located, so one can get to just about anywhere on the Kohala Coast in a short amount of time. The kitchen was well-stocked and the furnishings high quality. We couldn't have asked for more. The owner provided suggestions and very complete information on places to go, restaurants and activities on the Big Island. It was extremely helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the villa. The owner takes obvious pride in providing a setting that is ideal for a family; and, goes to great lengths to ensure a wonderful vacation spot. We will definitely recommend this villa to our family and friends. Thanks.

My fiance & I traveled to the Big Island as I was competing in the Hawaii Half Ironman on May 31, 2008. Upon arriving at the condo (one week prior to the race), we found it in great condition. We immediately felt at home! It was supplied with everything we needed from dishes to pots & pans to beach towels to laundry detergent. The condo was equipped with a washer/dryer which was a HUGE convenience for us. Since I was out training every morning, it was nice that I could come into the condo & throw my sweaty clothes in the wash right away & have them ready to go again the next day. In addition, the condo had a BBQ which worked great & and outdoor patio set. We grilled out almost every lunch & dinner & enjoyed dining on the patio taking in the beauty of the Resort. In addition, we were able to save a lot of money by grilling every day. For groceries, we were able to pick some stuff up in Kona & there was a very good grocery store about a 1/2 mile away from the condo. I could not have asked for a better place to stay on my first visit to the Big Island! Also, the condo is in a really good location. It is located right in the Mauna Lani Resort. There was a nice private beach at the Mauna Lani & just 5 miles down the road was Hapuna Beach which is the picture-perfect white sand beach that you picture in Hawaii. I would highly recommend this Condo to anyone looking for a place to stay on the Island...you will feel right at home! In addition, Paul & Cher left some great information in the Condo detailing all of the activities on the Island. If you are interested in staying at this condo & have any questions, please feel free to contact me via e-mail. MAHALO!

We loved the homeowner's beach (went there almost every day), and appreciated the beach towels that you provided. Fairways is a very well maintained resort in a quiet area and very close to excellent beaches both large and small. The owner Paul is extremely welcoming and helpful. We had a wonderful stay in Paul and Cher’s Villa at Mauna Lani. The villa was immaculate and completely satisfied our needs. The furnishings were new and well appointed, not to mention comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and the BBQ worked very well. We were able to prepare some very good meals with fresh fish and vegetables all of which were purchased near the villa. The grocery store that is a short walk was very well stocked and the clerks were very helpful in directing us to the items we were looking for.The residence is located close to the pool, but far enough away that noise was never a factor. The ocean is located within a 10 minute walk and the sunsets were beautiful. We would highly recommend their villa for a great place to stay on the Big Island.

Having been to several of the islands numerous times, in addition to actually staying at the Mauna Lani Hotel Resort & Spa, Brent and I have lots to compare to. Without hesitation, we applaud Paul and Cher for their island property, hospitality and attention to serving their guests and give them a 5-star rating. Their Villa can be described as simply, a “home” with style and convenience—one within in a quiet area of the Mauna Lani properties, located between snorkeling (Beach Club) and boarding (Hapuna Beach) on white sandy beaches, and convenient to groceries, shopping and specialty restaurants within Mauna Lani, as well as to Waikoloa, Waimea, Hawi and Kapaau (short drives to an older, quaint, non-touristo Hawaii).Cher’s attention to window coverings and furnishings are “high-end resort” —especially the linens and beds that were actually first class “firm”. Bravo!Since we prepared meals using local produce and a variety of fresh fish (ahí, ono, opah, mahi), the kitchen’s new appliances, Viking BBQ, and lanai furniture were terrific—including the stainless double door refrig with auto water/ice(s) maker— no excuse for not drinking enough water!Having access to an extremely well-cared for pool, lounging area, and exercise facility within 3 minutes of the Villa’s front door was an added bonus—not to mention the unexpected new boogie boards, portable beach chairs, and umbrella we discovered in the garage. We highly recommend Paul and Cher’s property and will be returning for our next escape to the sun.Mahalo.—Susan & Brent, Portland/Beaverton (rainy) Oregon

We travelled to Hawaii to celebrate a friends 50th birthday so shared this condo with another couple. We were very pleased with all the amenities eg the pool, the patio and the furnishings. The condo was well located to walk to the Fairmont Orchid, a new grocery store at the Shops of Mauna Lani and to play the various golf courses in the area.Paul and Cher had lots of resource material in the condo as well as some staples for cooking eg salt, sugar, ketchup. We used the guide book quite a lot to find our way around and go out to restaurants. We cooked a few nights for 8 people and there were lots of dishes/glasses and room to entertain this many people. We suggested internet access and portable lawn chairs for the beaches around the island, there are great chairs at the beach club, and apparently Paul and Cher have followed up with these items.

I recently vacationed in Mauna Lani for my 30th Birthday. I absolutely loved this property! When you consider that you get a fully furnished house in a great location and that is kept in immaculate condition, the price can really be described as an absolute steal. I researched some of the "cheaper" properties within the same resort and discovered that saving $20/night gets you a house with little to no furnishing and you are lucky if the place has been cleaned before you arrive. The unit I stayed at was just as described in the add and I also found that Paul and Cher (the owners) are very kind people and extremely helpful. It's obvious they truely care and want you to have a great time while visiting the island. I strongly recommend staying in this unit if you want great accomodations at an almost unbelievable value.

Two friends and I stayed here together. With two bedrooms and a comfortable pullout bed in the couch there was plenty of space. For the same price as a cramped hotel room we got a whole house! The place itself was nicely decorated and very modern and obviously well cared for; the house was immaculate! Both the King's and Queen's shops were close by and full of great shops. The beach was about a five minute walk and stunning. Because of the location my friends and I could choose to go out for the evening or have a ladies night in and both were easily catered to. Another plus? The pool area had plenty of room and wasn't crowded at all! I would definately recommend this condo to everyone looking for a great vacation!

Stayed here with my girlfriend in October 07. We were really pleased with the property, it felt like a five star hotel and was much more affordable!!! Was really convenient and close to everything we were looking for in our vacation. Called the owner for restaurant recomendations and were pleased with his suggestions.

Fantastic! We stayed at Paul and Cher's place in May of 2007 and loved all glorious 10 days of it. It didn't take long before it felt like home and we were very sad to leave. It was spotless, very comfortable, had everything that we needed, and is in a great location. It was nice to be able to either walk or take a short drive to the pool, the beach, the shops, or my personal favorite the golf course. I can't wait to get back to the villa for some further R&R in the most beutiful place on earth and feel the comforts of home at Paul and Cher's villa. Thanks again guys for having such a gorgeous place available for us to come and stay at. Mahalo!

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at Paul and Cher's villa in Mauna Lani. It was in immaculate condition, the furnishings were new and comfortable, and the whole place (especially the kitchen) was very well equipped. We really appreciated being able to borrow beach chairs and an umbrella to take with us to the Beach Club. The setting of Mauna Lani is really unique - a lush oasis in a desert of lava. We'd never seen anything like it before. Playing the golf course (at a reduced rate) and following the fairways through the lava fields was an amazing experience. The ability to prepare all our own meals, combined with the very reasonable rental rates, kept the overall cost of our visit pleasantly affordable. We'd highly recommend Paul and Cher's villa to anyone.

We just returned from a 10 day trip to PARADISE !! We have been to the Big Island before but we had not stayed at this resort. We travel a lot and we would rate this resort as one of the finest in the world. It was beautiful, quiet, romantic and relaxing. There was so much to do and everything was so convenient. The Villa was very spacious and luxurious. It is about 6 times bigger than a standard hotel room and less than half the cost. We were able to enjoy all of the ammenities at both The Fairways and The Mauna Lani Resort. The facilities are outstanding and were not crowded. We loved taking romantic night time and sunset swims and soaks in the hot tub. Jason did a great job of cooking on the Viking BBQ. We enjoyed the opportunity of cooking most of our meals instead of eating out. Cheaper, more variety, healthier, and more conveinent. Many of the local restaurants close up at 9 PM. The Villa had everything we wanted and needed to make our vacation perfect. The jacuzzi tub in the master bath was great. So was the double shower., We loved the sunset views from our upstairs lanai. The guest suite downstairs was very nice as well. The layout allows for maximun privacy. The floor to ceiling widows and designer drapes were a nice touch and the 20 foot vaulted ceilings made the great room seem even larger. We would highly recommend this unit. we plan to come back again next year.

We recently had our first child and were in desperate need of a break. The Villa, The Fairways, and The Mauna Lani Resort were even better than advertised. It was quiet, beautiful, and close to everything. We were on a relatively tight budget and found the Villa to be a great bargin. We paid a fraction of the cost of a hotel but still had the free and unlimited use of all of the resort ammenities. We were able to eat and cook in the unit. This was much easier and cheaper for us, especially with the little one. The Beach Club was perfect. It has protected waters and we were able to play with baby in the ocean. The pool, hot tub, lava rock waterfalls, and fitness center were high end resort quality ammenities. They were all free and only a few steps from the condo. The condo has absolutely everything you could need for a luxury vacation. The furnishings were beautiful and brand new. The Hawaiian ceiling fans were also a blessing since we do not use a/c at home. Clay worked his wonders on the Viking gas BBQ. In addition to the gas grill it also has a smoker and a rotiserrie. Everything was so close. Except for grocery shopping we never even needed a car. They even have free shuttle service within the resort. Paul & Cher were wonderful hosts. They pre arranged for the rental of the baby furniture. It was there when we arrived. They helped us with shopping, restaurants, events, and day tours. They have been in Hawaii since 1981 and seemed to know everyone on the island. They were able to get us discounts on a eco dolphin watch, sunset sailing cruise, submarine rides, and golf. They even turned us on to some money saving happy hours and dinner specials. We absolutely had no complaints. We have already booked to come back in Novemebr of 2007 and again with our cousin in March of 2008. Kendra, Clay, & Chloe

Kelly & I got married on the Big Island and spent our honeymoon on this fantastic island. We both loved the island and the condo. The condo was well maintained, fully furnished, and fit our needs perfectly. We both highly recommend staying here over a hotel! A full kitchen, washer & dryer, and awesome bathroom in the master bedroom made this a great place to stay. Thanks, again, for making our honeymoon so memorable. Keith & Kelly

I know how hard it can be to comb the Internet looking for a condominium, especially in Hawaii -- harder still if you're traveling with small children like we were. I chose this one largely based on reviews from fellow guests, and was not disappointed. This is a really lovely condo with pretty furnishings -- immaculately clean and with plenty of space. Your stay includes a parking pass for the Mauna Lani's Beach Club, which was a great place for snorkeling and calm enough for little kids to wade in. The complex's pool is pristine and includes a kiddie area. The location puts you very close to the Fairmont as well as to the Mauna Lani Hotel, where you can view the fishponds and turtles. The nearby shops include a Starbucks and an ice cream shop that our kids liked.

We had the pleasure to 'escape' to this beautiful condo in May for an all too short 6 nights. All was as advertised - immaculate 2 story unit, close to pool and by short drive to many of the sights and restaurants along the western coast of Hawaii. Additionally, we walked each morning for 1-2 hours along the shoreline - explored the tide pools and enjoyed seeing numerous turtles (each day!). The unit provides all that one needs for a most comfortable stay. We were impressed with the furnishings - a blend of elegance with comfort. Sleeping was a delight on the king sized pillow top in the Master Suite. Should you have an additional couple (or Mother-In Law)the bedroom downstairs with its own bath makes for privacy. We especially enjoyed the Viking BBQ on the patio - grilled steaks to perfection. Recommendation: stop in Costco after leaving the airport and get staples, swing by Safeway for the rest and you are good for your stay. Final note - we felt this was an excellent value as compared to hotel room - spacious, quiet, and we will be able to bring less clothes on the next visit since there is a full size washer/dryer in the unit. Thanks to Paul and Cher for creating a true spirit of Ohana with their attention to detail and commitment to providing the 'best'! Mahalo! PS. We will 'be back' in 2008!

We just got back from spending 10 glorious days at this Villa. The Fairways are beautiful, quiet, private with lush landscaping. It had the feel of a private community with all the ammenities of a big resort. The pool, spa, and lava rock waterfall area were great and only a few steps from the Villa. We also enjoyed the owners only beach club. It was even more beautiful & relaxing than the photos. The Villa is spacious with luxury furnishings and decorations. We felt is was an extremely good value because it was much larger and cheaper than a hotel room but we were still able to use all the ammenities of The Mauna Lani Resort. The Mauna Lani is one of the nicest resorts in Hawaii. We loved the two golf courses. They are both challenging and fair for the average golfer. We especially liked the South Course since it was next to and over the ocean. Paul & Cher were warm and generous hosts. They have been on the Big Island since 1981. They know where and when to go and what to do and see. It was like having our own concierge. We will definitely be coming back each year and recommending it to our friends.

We enjoyed our late March 2007 stay at Paul & Cher's villa. We would definitely stay there again. The master suite bed is incredibly comfortable (we forgot to check to brand - darn it!) and it was a pleasure to use the Viking gas grill on the lanai. There are lots of kitchen appliances. The villa is a good size for 4 people. If you like music, be sure to bring an ipod & speakers.

The Villa really lives up to its name. This ellegant Villa matches any Luxury Hotel for confort and ammenities. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to the Big Island. The location of the Villa is outstanding. It is wihin walking distance or a short 5 minute drive to world class beaches, golf courses, restaurants, rsorts and sigtseeing. Paul is a wonderful host who functioned like a consierge. His help and recommendations for restaurants, shopping, sightseeing, etc. were spot on. We did not have a single criticism or complaint during our entire stay. We would definitely stay there again. It was a great value.

Awesome Villa! The location of this property is ideally located on the Kona Coast and perfectly located on the Mauna Lani property. The best golf on the island is within 10-15 minutes. The Villa itself was in immaculate condition - great attention to detail in both the amenities and decoration. It was so nice to have a private pool and spa area - it seemed like no one else was there! Private beach club was also very cool. There's something so much more relaxing about having all that space to ourselves - like home away from home. Did I mention the amenities? Granite counters, stainless steel appliances, Viking BBQ on the lanai, washer/dryer...and on and on... And on top of it all, Paul & Cher are phemomenal hosts - like your own personal concierge with excellent recommendations. Killer place where we will definitely stay again and recommend to anyone traveling to the Big Island!!!

Though my husband and I are frequent visitors to Hawaii, this was our first trip to the Big Island. Since this island was new to us deciding where to stay posed a real delimma. We are very particular about our accomodations as we've found that the quality and location of our condo often dictates our overall vacation experience. We were very skeptical that on our first trip to the Big Island, we could find somewhere great to stay. Well, much to our surprise and delight, WE DID!! The Mauna Lani is a premeir resort and Paul & Cher's condo on the grounds is beautiful. It's central location allowed us zip up to Wamea for horeseback riding and slip down to touristy Kona for dinner with limited driving. Also, we loved having full access to the amentities of the upscale Fairmont Orchid and Mauna Lani Bay Hotel (both have small private beaches, pool/spa, bar, restaurant, shops, etc.) while staying in a roomy condo as opposed to a small pricey hotel room. Both hotels are within easy walking distance of the Fairways. This 2-bedroom 2-bath is well designed, in top-notch condition and has a great location on the Fairway grounds. The unit is just steps from the pool/hot tub area (pool and spa is very upscale) and can be viewed easily from the condo. Since we travel with our 9 year old son and my mother, we also appreciated the privacy offered by the unit's layout. Buce and I had a beautiful bedroom, private lanai, jetted-tub and walk-in shower upstairs while our son and my mother had their own accomodations downstairs. It worked out great. The kitchen is designer quality and well-equipped making meal preparation inviting and easy. There's a Viking grill on the lower lanai which must be awesome because Bruce grilled up some unbelievably tasty steaks that he's yet to serve up here in Missouri. There's also an attached garage which is very unusual for rental units, but wonderfully convenient. The Fairway's grounds are very well manicured and beautifully landscaped adding to the serenity of the area. The complex is very low key and we often had the pool/hot tub to ourselves. In short, we we're extremely pleased with Paul and Cher's condo and would highly recommend it for those planning a visit to the Big Island. I know how hard it is to surf the internet for accomodations and try to get a true feel for the quality and exact location of the condo. That's why I'm taking the time to write this review. Bruce and I can assure you, as seasoned Hawaii travele
