The Winter Holidays are a time of wonderful Native Dances at many northern New Mexico Pueblos. These include Los Matachines and other dances at nearby San Juan Pueblo on 24 & 25 December, Dances and bonfires following Midnight Mass or sundown at nearby Nambe and Tesuque Pueblos, and my favorite Christmas Day dances at our neighboring Pueblo of San Ildefonso. Dances continue at various Pueblos both near and far in great number through Kings Day on 6 January. As always with the Native culture, times and schedules can be very fluid and subject to change.
