If you are seeking peace, quiet, and serene natural beauty that only the coast of Maine can deliver in its particular way, this is a wonderful choice. I love to walk in the early morning with my cup of coffee out to the point and watch the birds working over the cove; other than their voices, all is silence. The scent of firs surrounds you, and you can watch the water for hours without interruption. The owner's gardens are absolutely gorgeous, and the grounds invite you to spend as much time out of doors as possible. If you can tear yourself away from the natural beauty, it's an easy drive to Bath, Brunswick, or Portland if you want to take in the museums, shops, and restaurants. The cottage apartment is a charming, romantic little retreat. I found this to be a remarkably relaxing, beautiful place and intend to return as often as I can.Recommended for: Pet owners, families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+.

This was my first trip to Maine and traveling alone. My goal was to keep busy exploring as much as I could during the day & relax at night. This location and property was perfect! It was centrally located for me to venture on different days to Portland/Kennebunkport, Freeport, Camden/Rockland, and Waterville. Bath is just a few short minutes away & also has much to explore. I even ventured a day trip to Bar Harbor/Acadia Natl Park and back. I saw both mountains and beach during my short stay and at least 4 lighthouses accessible by car & along the way of my ventures. The drive was wonderful going through picturesque communities along Hwy 1 and beautiful foilage. Like other comments, the pictures are exactly what you will experience at the property. All was super clean & modern. The bedroom is even more spacious than pictures. I found the bathroom an adequate size and even with a blow dryer! The balcony is relaxing. The grounds are beyond what I expected. It is gorgeous and quiet. The mornings are stunning in the clear or with a little fog, and I have never seen stars so clear at night. Staying at this property made for an awesome all-around Maine experience. I am so happy I chose this property and location compared to booking any hotel or Bed & Breakfast. It is just five short minutes off the highway and along a freshly paved road to the cove's point. Enjoy!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+.

Thank you, Pat, for such wonderful accommodations, especially on short notice. The property was very quaint, quiet and peaceful - truly relaxing and refreshing for our mini-vacation. It really exceeded our expectations. We especially loved how the sun rose in the morning and just poured light into the rooms when the curtains were open. Beats any alarm clock! The grounds were well maintained and our 3-year-old enjoyed running around the field, kicking soccer balls into the net you had set up. The option to select fresh herbs from the garden was one that we didn't take advantage of, but would have had we been able to stay longer. We selected the "lobsters fresh to your door" option, and your son prepared them perfectly! As for the details of the property, the overlying theme is that everything was better than expected - the photos were accurate representations, the rooms were clean, the property was well-maintained and well-landscaped, and Pat made us feel welcome and was very helpful in answering our questions. I would certainly recommend this property to friends and relatives.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+.

We stayed at this fantastically gorgeous jewel of a rental which is hidden away on the coast between Brunswick and Bath. We first stayed with our 18 year old daughter before depositing her as a freshman at the college down the highway. We returned for freshman orientation and then for parents' weekend, each time marveling at new foliage and the breath-taking surroundings. It was so quiet we were sure that we were alone on an island! We thoroughly enjoyed the quiet morning coffee on the outdoor deck, the endless hot water for long leisurely showers and the full kitchen when we didn't have the energy to go out. The owner's son even surprised us with some delicious live lobsters one night for dinner. On our most recent visit our daughter invited some new college friends back to our digs where they could get away from college life for a night of total relaxation, lots of comfy blankets, TV, and a stroll along the road to look at stars. As New Yorkers, this isn't something we can indulge in at home with all the big city lights! I cannot recommend this place highly enough, though I should really keep it a secret as I fear too many people learning about it.Recommended for: Pet owners, families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

My wife and I return to this quaint guest suite each year. The descriptions and pix are very accurate. The accomodations, scenery, and quiet are simply ideal. The owner goes out of her way and succeeds to make our stay totally enjoyable. Our only regret is not staying longer. Without hesitation, we highly recommend this guest suite to all.Recommended for: Pet owners, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+.

"The grounds, location, bird life, and amenities here are all exceptional. The bed is comfy cozy and there are plenty of blankets to snuggle up under if you get cold. The views from the bedroom and the balcony are breathtaking. The balcony is the perfect place for morning tea/coffee and the kayaking on the cove was a highlight. There are bird feeders directly in front of the balcony that attract lots of colorful birds. The property owner is friendly, accessible, and a wealth of great information about places to eat and things to do in the area. The only disappointing aspect of this property for us was that it is not really private. The rental suite is attached to the main house with an adjoining wall (which was our bedroom wall). We heard footsteps and voices whenever anyone was in the adjacent upstairs room of the main house and there was a window that we could see into from our bedroom, which made it not so conducive to the type of uninhibited, romantic setting we had envisioned. If total privacy is not an issue for you, and you can fit in a very small bathroom, this is an awesome place to stay."Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, girls getaway.
Owner response: It saddens me that a renter heard a few muffled sounds that apparently drifted toward the rental. . My only wish is that this renter would have been more straight-forward with us at the time. We would have made their stay perfect for them!! Any concerns would have been addressed - each and every one of their needs would have been taken care of immediately. We wish to rent to people who will have an exceptional A-plus experience! We take pride in the location, upkeep and ambience of this spectacular coastal sanctuary.

We immediately felt relaxed when we stepped out of our car and onto the property - all we could hear was bird calls, wind whistling through the trees, and only the sounds of our footsteps crunching on the gravel. We were thrilled to see wild turkeys roaming on the lawn! It was the vacation our family needed! We brought our 20 month old and our two (city) dogs, and the three of them had a blast exploring the yard, the woods, and the shore line. This was the perfect amount of country living for us - all the stores and things to do are just a ten minute drive away. The rental is clean and the amenities are perfect - the kitchen has everything you'll need to cook a meal. We were very pleased with the utensils and gadgets! The living room is comfortable with a nice little balcony to sit and admire the views - which are wonderful. There is a couch that folds into a futon, and it's pretty cozy for a futon. The bedroom is very large, the bed's comfortable, and there's plenty of room for a portable crib or play pen if you need to bring one for a small child. Pat, the owner, was incredibly helpful with recommending destinations for us to visit - both in the immediate towns of Bath and Brunswick, and further day trips we wouldn't have found on our own. She was very friendly and accommodating, and really made us feel welcome. I've told everyone I know to rent this place - It's the most relaxed we've felt in a long time!Recommended for: Pet owners, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

We were in the area for a wedding and were looking for comfortable bolt hole for the three of us to enjoy the incredible shoreline and coves around Bath. The location is stunning and very private with first class accommodation and really easy access to some fantastic restaurants in Brunswick, the maritime history of Bath and the delightful beaches and state park of Popham. A great place for Kayaking and swimming straight off the private jetty and onto the local coves and inlets. Pat was a delightful hostess and no request was too much trouble. She made us feel very welcome.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

This place is Maine at its finest! The views and property are outstanding. The owner has seen to evey detail: fresh flowers and candles in every room, fluffy towels and fine bedding, condiments in the kitchenette and even a flashlight. We went kayaking everyday, most days the water was as smooth as glass. The owner was warm and friendly, I left feeling as though we were friends. I will come back here again and again. I wish I could attatch my photos as the website just doesn't show enough.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4
