Location: Stevens Pass, Washington State, USA (2 Miles E. of Skykomish off Hghwy 2 - 90 mins from Seattle)
Accommodations: Cabin, 3 Bedrooms, 1.5 Baths (Sleeps 6-8)
A perfect place to escape and relax, or a convenient base for outdoor activities in the Central Cascades on either side of Stevens Pass.
Our cabin sits right on the bank of the Tye River in a park-like setting with a sweeping natural view across the river toward 5000' Beckler Peak and the newly created "Wild Sky Wilderness" in Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. Nearby activities include hiking, biking, rafting & kayaking, birdwatching, mushroom hunting, exploring the lakes and waterfalls and historic areas around Stevens Pass, Skykomish, and Index, or just relaxing to the sound of the river or a crackling fire.
THIS CABIN IS CUTE AND PERFECT FOR 1-3 COUPLES OR A FAMILY TO GET AWAY FROM IT ALL! The living room, dining area, kitchen, main bedroom, one bathroom, and mudroom are all located on the main floor, with two more bedrooms and a half-bath upstairs.
The living area is bright and cheery, with panoramic windows overlooking the Tye River to the mountains beyond. Curl up in front of the rock fireplace for a good read, a glass of wine or a good movie. The sliding door opens out onto the deck overlooking the river, and you will find yourself drawn outside to sunbathe on the river bank, barbecue, or listen to the river.
The kitchen is fully-equipped. The dining area seats eight comfortably, with a view of the river by day or the roaring fire at night, and is perfect for after-dinner games on those long winter evenings, or even doing a little work on your laptop (internet access via either wireless or ethernet connection).
The three bedrooms each feature a queen or full-size bed, reading lamp(s) and a dresser and/or closet for storage, and the living room couch and/or a cot can be set up if desired to accommodate a couple more folks. The main bathroom downstairs has a double sink separated from the toilet & shower, and another half-bath is upstairs. The mudroom is perfect for drying wet or muddy clothing or waxing skis, and there is a washer and dryer.
Enjoy a BBQ on the deck or an evening campfire or soak in the riverbank hot tub. Wildlife lovers will enjoy an ever-changing "show" starring the occasional Bald Eagle or Osprey, wild ducks (harlequins, mergansers and wood ducks), water ouzels, swallows, swifts, nighthawks, etc., and laugh as the Rufous Hummingbirds joust for territory and mates. At various times we've also seen Black Bears, Coyotes, Raccoons, Beavers & Otters, and watched sockeye salmon spawn right in front of our cabin. Early spring is especially nice if you like hummingbirds, a chorus of frogs or native wildflowers.
Reservations are accepted from non-smokers only as our home is a smoke free environment, and damage penalties will be assessed for non-compliance. Pets are fine, and there is a nice stake-out area.

Pat and George- "We had a wonderful final week of our 7 week trip through the U.S. Following the Lewis & Clark trail from St. Louis Missouri to Astoria, Washington was very exciting. We were exhausted from the travelling and all of the impressions. The silence during our hikes was marvelous. We enjoyed your beautiful view from the deck! We thank you for your hospitality."
