After a week in Provo at the Alexandria, I am ready to book a return trip and I wouldn't do anything different. The location of the Alexandria on Grace Bay Beach is excellent. It's roughly in the middle of the resorts, and you can easily walk to the Turtle Bay Marina (for those not used to long walks, it may be too far to walk, but it is a quick taxi ride) or the shopping center near the Regent Grand. And being able to wake up, walk to the beach, and have a beach chair, towels and umbrella already ready for you is priceless. And the Mange Reef restaurant is definitely a great place to eat. In addition, Mike was very responsive and easy to work with and the price was great! If you like snorkeling, I would recommend going a little off the beaten path. Caicos Dreams is located on site at the Alexandria, and that was a lot of fun and the staff was great, but it left me not feeling like I really got to see enough or snorkel enough. The staff at the Alexandria helped me book through another company, Caicos Adventures, and that was absolutely fantastic. We got to snorkel at three different sites. The first was off of West Caicos over the reef (amazing), and then we got to snorkel over "the wall" and some of the folks saw a shark and some sting rays (incredible), and then we snorkeled over a sand bar and were able to dive for sand dollars (super fun). I definitely recommend the this unit, the Alexandria, and Turks and Caicos for a beach lover's vacation!

Had a great week on a wonderful island in a really, really nice location. The condo is as advertised: very clean, nice ocean and pool view, comfortable bed, washer/dryer a nice benefit, tv and cd are great to have as well as the internet service, and coffee/tea on the balcony every morning is delightful. The first day we had a problem with the safe. When we called michael's property manager, we had the problem fixed, honestly, in 10 minutes. Resort grounds are meticulously maintained and clean. The beach is fantastic but be sure to get your snorkel equipment early as they sometimes run out. Get towels on your beach/pool chairs early to get a good spot. You can snorkel off their beach but not much to see. However, it's a beautiful 15 minute walk along the beach to some great snorkeling. Ate at the restaurant often for lunch and twice for dinner. Food was always good but be sure to do their "beach dining" for a great sunset and evening. Walk to several great restaurants and $5pp cab to most other places except far west end of the island. Overall, a great rental. Would do it again in a heartbeat. No regrets!

We just returned on Feb. 25, 2012 from a 1 week holiday in Grace Bay, Turks & Caicos. This is our second time to the island and we have had an excellent experience on both occasions. The Alexandra Resort was everything that we expected and more. The property is located right on the beautiful beach of Grace Bay with easy access to the pool area, outdoor showers, gym, and the spa. The Mango Reef is located on the resort, and their staff also provide service on the beach. We had dinner there the first night we arrived. Excellent food and the ambiance was very romantic. We sat at a table on the beach with our bare feet in the powdery sand and torches lit around us. The warm welcome from the staff at the Alexandra including the the front desk, the site Manager "Joe", the concierge "Big Al", grounds keeping and housekeeping staff made us feel like we were special. They were very attentive and made us feel at home. The studio accommodations were exactly as the owner had described to us with a nice view of the pool and the ocean. It was a pleasure dealing with the owner to book our stay as he was very prompt in responding to all our questions and followed through in a timely fashion with the information we required to check-in. The room was very clean and spacious. We enjoyed having our coffee and lunch on the balcony. The fridge, microwave, blender, and coffee maker came in handy. We had a fabulous dining experiences at several restaurants that included the Magnolia Wine & Bar Restaurant (sunset is fabulous to see from the terrace), Bay Bistro right on the beach, Tiki Hut on Wednesday (a great deal for chicken & ribs), da Conch Shack on Thursday (great live band-dancing on the sandy beach-and the best conch on the island), Anacaona on the beach (romantic ambiance, with one of the best meals we had-prepared by Wolf Gang). Walking on the white sugar sand and swimming in the turquoise water was an undescribable feeling. We would definately recommend the 1/2 day tour that included snorkeling on the coral reef, searching for our own conch shell, followed by a light lunch that the crew prepare with the conch meat we brought in. The crew also took us to a white sandy beach where we saw iguana, star fish, and a friendly shark :-). We will definately be returning in the next 6 months as we have found our magical vacationing island!

This condo is great for a couple. It's located on Grace Bay near other developments and restaurants, but it's quiet. It's extremely clean and well furnished (not cluttered). The "kitchen" is convenient for breakfast and snacks, but it doesn't have a cooking surface so you couldn't prepare dinners there. The owner is very responsive and easy to work with, and we were pleased with our experience.

The Turks and Caicos islands are some of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean. Providenciales, or Provo, boasts Grace Bay Beach. Thanks to government foresight the entire beach is public access. Nestled in the center of this national park is The Alexandra Resort. The Alexandra Resort is the result of a local real estate developer. The four buildings encircle the pool and the highly regarded Mango Reef Restaurant. Only a few steps from the pool is the incredible beach with unobtrusive, yet attentive staff, that helps set up your umbrella and chairs for the sun. Of interest to vacationers is the fact that Turks and Caicos has only two major chains - Club Med and Beaches. Alexandra Resort is three resorts away from Beaches and avoids the noise and churn of the crowds. The resort is convenient for a 30 minute walk to great snorkeling and to Regent Village for shopping. Staff at the Alexandra is attentive to your needs. This rental is in the Prima Donna building facing the pool. It has a "to die for" beautiful beach view. The building is meticulous and the furnishings are everything as described. This studio is everything you need and more for a two person get away. The owner is extremely responsive to any requests prior to and during your stay. Be sure to take advantage of the welcome orientation on Sunday which is hosted by the resort. You get fresh coffee and pastries from "Fresh Bakery" while learning how to best navigate the island. It will help you understand the best values for shopping, tours, etc. You can replenish your kitchen with their daily taxi to the nearby IGA for only $9.00 round trip. This is a true bargain. Another plus is you can order take-out from Mango Reef and enjoy your ocean view from the patio with your wine. There is a daily prix fixe for $42 which includes one app, one entree, and one dessert. If you're going in lobster season try the curry lobster. All your bar and restaurant incidentals can be applied against your credit card on file for an easy check out. The other bonus to being at the resort is the Manager's reception on Monday night which includes apps and wine. The one hour time gives you an opportunity to meet the management as well as long term tenants and guests. If you're still reading, you can tell that this is a special place with a great, responsible owner. Needless to say, we'll be back!

I would highly recommend this property. The enitre property was clean and well maintained. The staff was very friendly. There were plenty of lounge chairs both at the pool and on the beach. The Mango Reef Resturant did not disappoint.

My wife and I visited for our 20th wedding anniversary. Location is close to being, if not the best on the island. Property and adjacent properties are Very nice. The beach is one of the best we have experienced. Sand is super white and it does not get hot. Property has a great restaurant with a great view! Food is great with live music 2-3 times per week. A lot to do. We did several excursions- parasailing, snorkeling, sight seeing. Conch is great! Would definitely like to go there again.

We enjoyed our stay at The Alexandra very much. This was probably the cleanest beach area room we have ever stayed in, including resorts here in the states. The Mango Reef restaurant at the resort was wonderful and there are many other great places just a short walk down the beach.

Great location, great beach, great restaurant on site just to name a few. Easy to rent, paid with paypal and owner was very friendly and helpful. Staff at resort was super friendly and helpful. We recommend renting a car... was cheap and very easy to navigate around the island. Make sure to have lunch or dinner at the Horse-eyed Jacks...the conch salad was very tasty. The beach at the resort is amazing. A coral reef about 1 mile from shore stops all the surf/waves from hitting shore. The sand was perfect and water was the clearest I've ever seen in Carribean. We also highly recommend the 1/2 day snorkling trip that leaves from resort. The crew was outstanding and the places they stop are amazing. Also great snorkling within walking distance from resort at the Coral Gardens. A large reef 10 feet from shore with fish and coral all over. The condo was very clean and modern. Nice washer and dryer in the room and WIFI service. The view is amazing from the balcony, has a small table with two chairs and one lounge chair on it. Very relaxing resort, we hope to return very soon.

The Alexandra is an amazing property with lush gardens, beautiful pools and the best beach set up ever. The pictures and ad description were accurate and the room was very clean and well maintained. Everything was perfect and I would highly recommend this unit based on the value, price and location in Provo. The condo was well serviced with adequate towels, linens and a perfect kitchen. Sitting out on the deck overlooking the pool and listening to music from the restaurant was so much fun. The gym facility was great, with music and awesome equipment. This was my second trip to Provo and we did not rent a car this time because everything is well within walking distance for local shopping and restaurants. There is a little convenience store just behind the property for souvenirs, drinks, etc and a short walk to the very inspirational and local church services at Jericho Baptist Church, a must visit for an uplifting experience. We also attended the Creole Baptist in downtown Provo. The locals and service people are warm, friendly and genuinely helpful. Some of the nicest people I've ever met. Check out Anna's Gallery in Salt Mills Plaza to see the local artwork, paintings, crafts, etc. I met one of the local painters and brought back one of a kind scenes of the beautiful sea. Also check out the local eatery called Ange & Al's for authentic Creole fare, very good prices and a chance to eat with the islanders. My parents are physically disabled so I was checking to see if this unit could accommodate them and although it's not ground floor, there is an elevator and adequate space in the room to get around with a walker, with a large bathroom and walk in shower for disabled use, which is a plus. I can't wait to return!

This was our second rental of this lovely, clean and nice condo. It's compact but have everything you need just like at home. Staffs are courteous and are very helpful whenever you need them. Location is right at the center of Grace Bay and many nice restaurants are within the walking distance along the beaches. We will stay there again for our future visits and strongly recommend it to our friends and relatives.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in T&C. The complex is right on the beach and my condo had a beautiful view from the balcony. It seemed there was always a breeze blowing my way. It was a good value all things considered (size, location, and quality of facility). The owner was very responsive during the reservation process. I peppered him with questions and he responded via email very quickly. Everything was well maintained. I think the grounds were just fully revamped. The Mango Reef restaurant was a personal favorite and is on site.

If you are looking for a beautiful top notch getaway with a beach beyond description and the clearest and warmest Caribbean water, then travel to Grace Bay, Turks & Caicos. The rental process was simple. E-mail correspondence with the owner answered all our questions. They also provided us with great advice. In our opinion, the Alexandra is a solid 5-star resort, the listing photos are a true reflection but being there tops that! The price for a weeks' stay is unbelievably affordable. Our rental accomodation, although basic, was extremely well appointed, clean and reflects high end maintenance. The kitchen, with small refridgerator, microwave, 2-burner portable cooking surface and utensils was just enough for us to make breakfast every morning. The big shock is the price of food at the IGA supermarket. We bought basic breakfast food, eggs, milk, bread, fruit, etc, for our seven day stay at a cost of $80.00. We strongly suggest that you bring crackers, popcorn, chips, granolla bars, etc, in your luggage...this will save you a lot of money! The view from the 3rd floor balcony is a ten out of ten! The beautifully maintained grounds and pool facilities is just below the unit with a panoramic view of the white sand beach and pristine Caribbean water. The choice of restaurants within walking distance (in the surf)...especially at night, is fantastic. We vote for the Alexandra and its Mango restaurant with scrumptious entrees under a cool and beautiful sky, and just a 2-minute walk from our unit. Prices are about what you would pay in the states at an upper class restaurant. We are already planning our vacation for next year at the Alexandra and the same rental unit. After traveling to many Caribbean Islands, This is our choice for future vacations!

The Alex was probably the best value on the island! We loved eating breakfast on the 3rd floor balcony each morning and relaxing on the non-crowded beach every day! We had dinner at Mangos several nights for the quality, variety and convenience. The studio was comfortable for the two of us and the bathroom was larger than expected. Having a washer/dryer in the room was a major plus. The only reasons for 4-stars was the never-ending ant visits in the kitchen area, and also the bed comforter was disgustingly dirty and could not fit in the washer. We tossed it on the floor. Looking back, I should have called the local management co. to address these issues.
Owner response:We're glad you enjoyed your stay at our condo and and appreciate the four star rating. Thank for you for letting us know about the ants and comforter issue - we have notified our property manager immediately to look into this. We were unaware of this and have had 8 couples stay there since your April visit without hearing similar comments. We only wish you hadn't waited so long to tell us about this (or as you stated, contacted our local property manager, who would have addressed this right away)!

I was pleasantly surprised once I landed in Grace Bay and entered the resort at Ocean View. I had never been to Turks & Caicos but didn't want to leave once my vacation was over. You have great views from the room and never had to leave the resort. There was a very good restaurtant and wet bar at the pool area. Ocean View is centrally located so it is very close to other restaurants in town and the shopping area if you'd like to venture from the resort. I would recommend this resort to families, singles, retirees. It has all you would be looking for.
